Arsenal Re-Enter Race For Tawrick Jibril + Video

Arsenal have sensationally re-entered the race for Hearts Of Oak midfielder Tawrick Jibril, after Spanish outfit Atlético Madrid delayed pushing the transfer through.

Jibril was invited on trial with the Gunners two months ago, but before he could touch down in London, long-term admirer’s Madrid pounced to strike a deal. Although the 16 year old went to Spain for a medical and to agree personal terms, Atlético have since back-tracked on the agreement, with Arsenal ready to step in and snap him up.

Accra Hearts of Oak’s Administrative Manager Mr Ashford Tetteh-Oku told the Ghanaian media they have sent a warning to Javier Aguirre’s team, and are willing to consider other offers if the transfer is not wrapped up quickly.

“We have given Atletico Madrid today (yesterday) as the deadline, to show seriousness in the player or risk losing him to other bidders”.

According to “The Sporting Times” Arsenal are prepared to stump up the $1.5 million asking price, but have told the prestigious Ghanaian’s they want quick answer if they can have the player, or we will look elsewhere.

Jibril is regarded as the most exciting young player in Africa, and although he is only 16, has already made a handful of appearances for Accra’s first team.

Well if we can get him that’d be a boost in terms of our relationship with Salamanca, which i see as being quite important now for the future of our youth development programe, and gettin the best talent available outside of europe in an Arsenal shirt.

He’s obviously highly rated and the video was quite impressive, he looks very good on the ball, good movement and doesnt give it away.

Could prove to be a very good signing if we can get him.

Also, J have u heard about us taking on a number of young talents from india into a Special Arsenal run soccer school? Apparently they were individually selected, between the ages of 10-16. Ud think if a couple impress while at the school one or two could be future signings.

yes he would prob go to Salamanca hence the rush to find out whether he will come or not. if not Arsenal need to find someone else pretty quick. it’ll be easier to judge whether he is any good once he is playing in Spain.

Johnny Maverik – Arsenal have taken in 16 youngsters from India and have invited them to the Arsenal Soccer Festival. I think they will award a scholarship deal to 3 of them.

This boy looks pretty gd, actually, let me retract that.
This boy looks a future star, a typical Arsenal player.

If we get him and he learns in the reserves, rather than going Spain on loan, i think he would be in the first team by his 17th birthday.

From the youtube video, he commands the game well n has vision similar to our one and only Fabregas.

Indian youngsters are not good enough. No, not as yet. We’re probably 3 decades from having an Indian player in the Premiership. Gooner from India here. Sanderson, you’re doing an excellent job. Continure mate, all the best. I hope to visit the Emirates in the future, if possible will try to do my Masters in England, hopefully London. Cheers.

I reported this months ago, we organised soccer schools in India to get together a bunch of the best youngsters and potentially sign them.

I reckon its for marketing, and to get the Arsenal name out in India, but who knows.

With Arsene training techniques, he could an absolute germ. On the Cesc Fab show, pat rice pointed out that the 1st thing they look for in a player is football awareness & football intelligence and this boy has exactly that along manipulative skills and good control. Hopefully A Madrid will let us in

Supergunner07! I agree with you totally, he looks like he is very energetic and strong too!! I think he can be a great DM in the future, very similar too Michael Essien. Strong, Quick, Stamina, tenacious, Technique, great passing ability and would be great if he would be able to shoot like Essien.

By the way didn’t Essien pose in an Arsenal shirt once?!!

Hi Mr. Sanderson. Just off topic but could you give us any information (article) of arsenal’s training methods at any level, at any time of the season (e.g. Arsenal U16’s mid-season training). Just want to get more insight as I would love to be a coach. Next year I am thinking about doing my badges but they are changing the format to teaching age groups.

Okay……lets just say he is 22, and we are being made to think he is 16yrs old…..I reckon he is still good enough…..we could still get 10 years of good service out of him.

People made the same comments and jokes about Kanu, JJ Okocha, Samuel Eto’o and many many more, but they still set the world alight……
    Go get him Arsene….i say!!

Lol! First we won the title at the lane, then they payed for the Emirates. I think the spuds secretly love us dearly ;)

As for how old the kid is, i know people from parts of the world such as Africa and Asia aswell dont always know their exact age, i dont meen that in a discriminatory way. Its just fact, i meen theres a guy at my school from Nepal and hw doesnt know how old he is. But they know it give or take 2 years, so the kid is atleast 18. Nd anyway, the majority do know how old they are, so its more likely that hes 16 for sure.

from what I saw, he more rosicky type than fabregas. he likes to dribble and take on defender. if wenger bought him, he most likely will play on the wing. if he to play more centrally then he need to be more dicipline and have tactical awareness. he still 16 so still room for improvement. he defenitely will get more benefit if stay with arsenal than go out on loan. but its not such a waste if we didn’t get him. we got better talent in form of wilshere.

I think african ages are more accurate now than they used to be… Birth records are better kept and more publicly available so people are less and less inclined to modify their age.

Believe me, there are a lot of very good young African players that we see in the secondary schools principal cup competitions and also shell petroleum have a shell cup for students in secondary schools so more and more young players are getting noticed early.

My first impression on Jibril is Wow!
From that video I picked up very quickly that he can use both feet very well. Just looking at that video tells me he is carrying a lot for his age. His control of the ball and electricity in approaching the ball just reminds me of Messi. Jibril can be a dangerous player on the right in the middle even on the left. He’s a future star without a doubt. I hope we sign him.

I know what you are saying Johnny, Ghana is better than most West African states in terms of recording birth certs etc. More than likely 16 is accurate.

Jibril as far as I know is a northern Ghanaian/Burkino Faso name. A lot of talented african players go to Ghana and apply for Ghanaian nationality as its easier to get scouted there than say the slums of Lagos. So if not originally Ghanaian then the chances of the birth cert being accurate diminishes depending on where his family are from.

With some, Yakubu and Martins for example, fake passports are widely reported to have been bought just to help them out of the country and get visas and such, thus the trouble with fake ages. That’s a lot different to someone going “dur, how old am i?”

The kid looks 16, he says he’s 16, and he’s at possibly the biggest african club there is, scouted by us – one of the highest quality clubs in terms of dedication to the fitness and development of youngsters. I don’t think we are sign the check, have him flown over and suddenly find out we have a 45 year old on our hands.

Dont know the squad numbers you are talking about but a friend of mine knows the hoyte brothers. The speculation is the shirt numbers worn in the austria camp are for real i.e. Gavin.Hoyte 19, Simpson 23, Lansbury 29, Coquelin 27. As we all know Eboue shows as 27 on Arsenal.com so he could be changing numbers?

Isnt it more likely that the Numbers that Arsenal have already announced will stay and the young players will be given numbers if and when they are called up to first team action. Most likely when the carlin cup starts.

no as I already knew Bischoff given 28 leaving only 13 and 18 spare one of these might go to Eboue, but the rumour I am hearing is Barry will take 18 and Eboue could go in p/ex

Ghana dnt have a history of dodgy birth certificates but Nigeria do.The vacant squad numbers are 13,18,19,23 and 29.Hoyte and Simpson like Jack Wilshere were wearing vacant or squad #’s of players who weren’t there.
