Arsenal are reportedly set to enter negotiations with Crystal Palace for their 17 year old forward Victor Moses, although both club’s are apart in their valuations of the England Under 19 International.
Reports circulated last week about the potential capture of Moses, but the speculation has refused to go away. It is believed Arsenal are ready to offer around £1 million for the powerful winger, however Palace see his value at more £3 million.
Moses is a versatile forward, able to play on either flank or as a striker. He was born in the Nigerian capital Lagos, but moved to England aged 5 after his parents were killed. As a school boy he was coached by former Gunners defender Colin Pates, and was quickly promoted to the Academy after bagging 50 goals for the Under 14 side in one season.
Last season he was given his big break – he was granted the chance to battle for a first team place, and at just 16, put in several impressive performances. His exploits against Scunthorpe United caught the eye, as he single handily tore the relegation threatened side apart. Victor completed his debut season with three goals from 13 league appearances, particularly impressive for such a young talent.
The International scene has been where Moses has flourished most, having featured at all levels including Under 19, even though he is only 17. At Under 17 level he has partnered Rhys Murphy in attack, and played in midfield alongside Henri Lansbury, meaning the Arsenal connection could help swing any deal.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan has admitted that Chelsea have made several inquires for his signature, but have been rebuffed on every occasion. The lure of the Gunners youth development record would help if a fee could be agreed.
Victor is well known for his powerful goalscoring, and flamboyant celebration, watch the video below to get a taste of what Moses is all about.

I’ve seen him play and he would be an excellent addition but another kid?!
I’ve seen him play too and he stood out in the game he played.
If you’ve noticed, we’re buying a lot of the British talent.. Ramsey, Freeman, Walcott and maybe now this kid. The future is English..
We will buy young players to further our youth development, but look what Wenger said last week, he wants some experience.
So if we do get Moses, dont think we wont get any experienced players.
Big strong lad, would be good for us, altho Jordan would not be to pleased about losing another youn player
He would be a great signing, of course we need experience, but it doesnt mean we should ignore young talent if a great player becomes available. I cant stand people bashing these kind of transfers, Wenger has already said he will add to the first team squad so everyone needs to let Arsene do his thing and see where we are in a months time!
where are with the Bischoff transfer?
bit of a crappy video to ‘get a feel of what hes all about’, but i hope we get him nonetheless. when i told my friend whos a spud that we were after moses, he rated him very highly and thats quite something considering that we usually rubbish any player linked to eachothers teams…
keep up the good work; love the site.
i remember seeing Moses for the first time last year in the u17 euro… he impressed me massivly, and outshone players like Murphy!
Jordan has quit after the Bostock tribunal decision. Understandable too.
Bet all those slating Cesc last night are feeling rightly stoopid today.
Moses? No idea.
I like everything about him, just an outstanding prospect.
Shame that Jordan left, for a chairman he has had lots to deal with. The Andy Johnson and Ian Dowie sagas and then Bostock.
He’s not worth £3 million. A young striker who I have seen that looks good and is a bit like Drogba is Richard Sukuta Pasu. I think he would be better than Moses but maybe Wenger is trying to buy more English players.
From what i have seen of Moses he is nuffin special at all.
Really over-hyped
Strong, quick and can rip defences sounds like arsenal player to me.Arsenal should and will get him
Id feel sorry for palace, but at the same time Moses is one of the biggest british talents in the 16-19 yr old age bracket, so it’d be a big signing. Hes not perfect yet, makes mistakes but hes only 17, he’d even beable to go into our first team as back-up since he has alot of first team experiance already (at championship level) and physically hes more than capable.
If we can get him for 5mil or less id say its a gd transfer as hes defintly on the same sort of level as Ramsey (although hes a different sort of player).
New batch of pictures on Arsenal.com, Simpson and Wilshere working hard :)
Nice to see Kolo back too
http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav=News&article=494475&lid=NewsHeadline&Title=Arsenal+in+Austria+-+latest+pictures+from+training+camp
I like this kid.
Have watched him a few times last season and he really is coming on!
Apparently Warnock was only gonna give him a run out in a couple of games last season but he forced his way into the team by his determination and ability. I for one think that he will be a very good player and i would love to have him at arsenal!
what was all that about toure havin maleria (sp?) then?
Also i am well happy to see Kolo back, not too sure bout the hair though haha!
What is with our players and weird hair do’s?
Randall, Adebayor, Kolo, Gallas are the latest but any one remember Freedi L’s when he first got on the scene and even Cesc when he first started out, my god haha!
* meant to be Freddi Ljungberg by the way :-)
1st post here, gotta say this is my favorite Arsenal site lol.
I think Victor Moses would be an incredible signing, he has the potential to be a world-class striker IMO. Could be a replacement for Adebayor should he leave in the next couple of seasons or so.
I liked Ljungbergs, Adey’s and Kolos, however Randall and Gallas need a change and Fabregas old doo was way too spanish. Its the only country in the world where mullets r still considered fasionable (thats short on the top and long at the back).
A little of the topic but for this evenings game I think this will be close to the team that starts
_______________Almunia
Sagna____Phil____Djororu_____Clichy
Theo______Randall____Diaby____Nasri
____________Bendtner___Vela
_______________Almunia
Sagna____Phil____Djororu_____Clichy

Yea id say thats pretty much the line-up, possibly different in the middle, maybe Denilson to start again? Or even Ramsey. Nt sure Randall will get a start but i hope he does, i dnt think comin on as a sub suits him, he needs time to ease into a game.
I actually meant to put Ramsey in Johnny M,
Would like to see Ramsey allowed to get forward more plus would love to see him in central midfield alongside Abou who will give him more protection than Denilson. Not to impressed with Deni, was poor in the games I seen him last season. Against Wigan in particular when he was totally out shone by Diarra.
Like the cut of Ramsey . Diaby will have a big season as will Djororu
to any arsenal fan who doubts weather he is the real deal let me tell you he,s going to be a fantastic player but leave him with us like a cole and well bring him on then flog he for 10m o by the way earlier today he signed a four year deal so what happened and the scum club down the road can,t happen here i hope he does sign for you guys 1 day but not yet lol thanks for all yr kind words regarding our chairman …
Might be a good idea to confirm the true age of Moses before offering money.
BooMer – Moses didn’t outshine Murphy. In fact in the u17 Euros Moses was dropped for the last two games.
J.S, I appreciate this has sweet FA to do with youth team affairs, but in the pic’s on arsenal.com Kolo is training with Gary Lewin. I thought Lewin had taken up a full time roll with the FA? Typo maybe? Although it certainly looks like Gary Lewin.
Claude it’s his brother, he looks like him! check the arsenal.com staff list
lewin will be with us till the end of august i believe
LSOE, i diden’t see alot of the english games, but I saw the first ones, and Moses outshone all the english players imo. Lansbury were great too!
Yea when Gary leaves his brother will take over as the head Physio.
I can understand all the critisism of Denilson, to be honest ive never been too comfortable with him. Hihgly rated in Brazil, talked about and well known through-out the whole football world, but yet he only ever manages 1 good game a season. Always looks pretty avarage. Hes a good passer, decent shot, ok on the ball, but not stand out in any department, i just wonder if he’ll ever be a stand-out player. Sure in 3 seasons time he might be a great passer, scores a fair share of goals and good on the ball, but i just never see much improvement from him from season to season. Even for the reserves he often gets outshone by the younger mids.
As for Moses, what price would u all be happy with? Personally id be happy even if we went as high as 5mil, do u think that’d be too high?
Confirmed line-up:
Almunia
Sagna Hoyte Hoyte Clichy
Wilshere Ramsey Denilson Traore
Bendtner Vela
Live stream: http://www.ifutbal.com/videos/11456/live-arsenal-vs-burgenland
Just to clarify the confusion re. the physio. Colin Lewin is Gary’s cousin, not brother.
Can’t remember who all the subs were, but Mannone, Walcott and Lansbury were definitely among them. Think I might’ve seen Simpson’s name too.
simpson and randall were there
i like kolo new hair style. he looks like a hungry lion. haha
Moses has signed a new 4 year deal with palace !
If Aaron Ramsay is worth £5 Million Pounds and Victor Moses is a bigger talent than he is then what is the point in bidding £1 Million Pounds for the kid then because all Simon Jordan will say if F**K Off and he would be right to say that IMO
I think to do Crystal Palace justice if Arsenal buys the player, they should loan him back for the rest of the season or maybe another Arsenal player? Is what some other transfers have done.
I just really feel sorry for Palace recently, after all the bad things that have been happening to them. The Bostock fee was an outrage IMO.
kent paul: i don’t think Wenger is expecting to get him at 1m or is trying to annoy Jordan. We initially bid a lot less for Ramsey too. It’s naturally going to be a big negotiations, 1m is a decent offer considering Freeman was 500k I think and the 3m number has only came about after our initial bid.
lol ramsey scored in 45 seconds.
RAMSEY!
Great goal, barely 2 minutes into the game. 1-0 to The Arsenal
it was wilshere that scored
Nikki B B B wot a finish
2-0. Quality strike from Bendtner.
Ramsey and Wilshere having very good games so far. Really opens the eyes to see British players playing silky pass and move football. Wilshere is like a bolt of lightning in a pair of shoes sometimes.
3-0
And again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3-0!
Bendtner again.
I guess this kicks the Victor Moses theory into touch J, Hes just extended his contract with Palace.

VVVVVVEEEEEEELLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAA
Vela!!
Brilliant goal.
Nikki B Hat Trick
Bendtner hat-trick. 5-0
Madness!
Bendtner hat trick… ta
Almunia looks like pea+mint soup with lemon on top!
Vela 2nd… 6-0
VVVVVVEEEEEEELLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAA (again)
6-0… to the ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!
Ramsey is quite special, eh
Bendtner, u lot were rinsin im earlier lol
Bendtner gets a 4th.
Haha. I almost feel sorry for Almunia, he might as well call it a day and go home. There’s absolutely nothing for him to do here.
i think we’ve gone a whole 3 minutes without scoring
^^^
while typing this, i missed a nb 4th.
Bendtner… 4th… 7-nil to the Arsenal…
this games a bit of a joke, i dont even know why we are playin them cuz there woeful 7-0 an lansbury on for traore
Blackstock said this on July 28, 2008 at 5:16 pm
It’s ok, he bought a copy of the latest book Richard and Judy told him to read. He thinks its ok, but he prefered The Time Travellers Wife. Oh, and he occasionally has Justin pass back.
Who came off/on?
Denilson almost makes it 8.
This is the football equivalent of the US navy invading a small pacific island. Complete obliteration.
What is the point of playing opposition like this surley the young players would learn more playing a second or third division side who are only a couple of weeks away from playing starting the season than playing a side who probably could not beat a pub team IMO
Kent Paul,
it’s just a warming-up to Wednesday’s game. Sit back and relax!!
complain… oh its too easy… gents… EVERY YEAR we beat SOMEONE 7-0… this sort of match is VERY useful… we’ve got lots of strong competition next… dont bottle it everyone… this is our year.. if you dont believe me… ASK CESC!!!!!!!!
kent paul: training in the area could have a lot to do with it. also the fact that we arent gonna come away with any horrific injuries after Mr. 3rd Division Defender gets pissed off at how Vela makes him look his bitch and decides to show him the Joey Barton way of playing.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1480965.ece
“EVERY YEAR we beat SOMEONE 7-0”
True, but its usually over 90 mins, not 45.
Hopefully Wenger will tell em to go out second half and pretend its 0-0, start again and put some effort back in cuz it was a bit stale for the last 5 mins.
7-0 Half time. Kent Paul, would you be sayig that if we was a goal down?. if the competition isn’t tough, we’ll atleast see how the players communicate and all that mumbo.
GTBAG: I don’t know him. But I agree.
Putting at least 4 in will help Bendtner’s confidence so much, especially after how rusty he has looked. Confidence will be a very big part of this. I would like to see Theo get a couple for such reasons.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if Moses leaves Palace. I think the contract is just the chairman going “you know that club that nurtured you? please don’t fuck them over, we need the money.” Especially after they got boned on Bostock, this just looks like its there to raise the fee.
Bedtner is RUSTY he should of scored 10 and has scored 4 that is not arsenal quality
Walcott, Simpson and Randall on
totally of subject but have you lot heard “THE GAME FT LIL WAYNE – MY LIFE”. its amazing.
Nice finish by Jay Simpson Lol
I will refuse to listen to the game until he learns to write 16 bars that go without mentioning dre, fifty, nwa or pac. seriously.
simpson missed a free goal.
Jay Simpson is crap
Vela netting a hat-trick in the same day he scores his first ever goal for Arsenal.
Lil Wayne is the most embarrassing thing to happen to Hip-Hop since Nelly.
Lil Wayne is gay

completly agree with u on that
blackstock, 100% agree on Lil Wayne, nothicng else but a son of a bitch..
0-9 eh nyc

walcottttttttttttttt
Sack the Manager because Burgen have scored a gooal
but guys the song is good, lil wayne is just on the hook its all the game, he supposedly disses eminem on the track.
I wish I wasn’t at work… everything is firewalled and I totally want to watch this game. Hopefully I can find a torrent later
Fucking ell. Draw 1-1 against a bunch of cl;owns and “its only a friendly and pre season and you cant read anything into it”. Beat a team of over weight part time ballet dancers 10-0 and its “every player is world class and we are so good”. Grow up you sad twats.
Y the hell is lansbury at right back
Good last ditch tackle by Gavin Hoyte
They scored again
Jay Simpson Dont Deserve To Be Slated , The 2nd Half Team Was Far Better Than The 1st Half , He was just unlucky and dont deserve to be criticsed
Eh, bit of a waste of time. That wont have done any of the back four any good, harly had anything to do, only let the 2 in cuz on a lack of concerntration. Wont have done many of the other lads much good either, maybe a bit of confidance for Vela, Bendtner and Wilshire, but there were some heavy tackles in that game, we’re lucky no1 come off with an injury.
Amusing to watch, bit of a spectacle but in the end a waste of time. I dnt think Wenger enjoyed it too much.
