Arsenal To Start The Bidding For Victor Moses (Video)

Arsenal are reportedly set to enter negotiations with Crystal Palace for their 17 year old forward Victor Moses, although both club’s are apart in their valuations of the England Under 19 International.

Reports circulated last week about the potential capture of Moses, but the speculation has refused to go away. It is believed Arsenal are ready to offer around £1 million for the powerful winger, however Palace see his value at more £3 million.

Moses is a versatile forward, able to play on either flank or as a striker. He was born in the Nigerian capital Lagos, but moved to England aged 5 after his parents were killed. As a school boy he was coached by former Gunners defender Colin Pates, and was quickly promoted to the Academy after bagging 50 goals for the Under 14 side in one season.

Last season he was given his big break – he was granted the chance to battle for a first team place, and at just 16, put in several impressive performances. His exploits against Scunthorpe United caught the eye, as he single handily tore the relegation threatened side apart. Victor completed his debut season with three goals from 13 league appearances, particularly impressive for such a young talent.

The International scene has been where Moses has flourished most, having featured at all levels including Under 19, even though he is only 17. At Under 17 level he has partnered Rhys Murphy in attack, and played in midfield alongside Henri Lansbury, meaning the Arsenal connection could help swing any deal.

Palace chairman Simon Jordan has admitted that Chelsea have made several inquires for his signature, but have been rebuffed on every occasion. The lure of the Gunners youth development record would help if a fee could be agreed.

Victor is well known for his powerful goalscoring, and flamboyant celebration, watch the video below to get a taste of what Moses is all about.

We will buy young players to further our youth development, but look what Wenger said last week, he wants some experience.

So if we do get Moses, dont think we wont get any experienced players.

He would be a great signing, of course we need experience, but it doesnt mean we should ignore young talent if a great player becomes available. I cant stand people bashing these kind of transfers, Wenger has already said he will add to the first team squad so everyone needs to let Arsene do his thing and see where we are in a months time!

bit of a crappy video to ‘get a feel of what hes all about’, but i hope we get him nonetheless. when i told my friend whos a spud that we were after moses, he rated him very highly and thats quite something considering that we usually rubbish any player linked to eachothers teams…

He’s not worth £3 million. A young striker who I have seen that looks good and is a bit like Drogba is Richard Sukuta Pasu. I think he would be better than Moses but maybe Wenger is trying to buy more English players.

Id feel sorry for palace, but at the same time Moses is one of the biggest british talents in the 16-19 yr old age bracket, so it’d be a big signing. Hes not perfect yet, makes mistakes but hes only 17, he’d even beable to go into our first team as back-up since he has alot of first team experiance already (at championship level) and physically hes more than capable.

If we can get him for 5mil or less id say its a gd transfer as hes defintly on the same sort of level as Ramsey (although hes a different sort of player).

Apparently Warnock was only gonna give him a run out in a couple of games last season but he forced his way into the team by his determination and ability. I for one think that he will be a very good player and i would love to have him at arsenal!

Yea id say thats pretty much the line-up, possibly different in the middle, maybe Denilson to start again? Or even Ramsey. Nt sure Randall will get a start but i hope he does, i dnt think comin on as a sub suits him, he needs time to ease into a game.

I actually meant to put Ramsey in Johnny M,
Would like to see Ramsey allowed to get forward more plus would love to see him in central midfield alongside Abou who will give him more protection than Denilson. Not to impressed with Deni, was poor in the games I seen him last season. Against Wigan in particular when he was totally out shone by Diarra.

Like the cut of Ramsey . Diaby will have a big season as will Djororu

Yea when Gary leaves his brother will take over as the head Physio.

I can understand all the critisism of Denilson, to be honest ive never been too comfortable with him. Hihgly rated in Brazil, talked about and well known through-out the whole football world, but yet he only ever manages 1 good game a season. Always looks pretty avarage. Hes a good passer, decent shot, ok on the ball, but not stand out in any department, i just wonder if he’ll ever be a stand-out player. Sure in 3 seasons time he might be a great passer, scores a fair share of goals and good on the ball, but i just never see much improvement from him from season to season. Even for the reserves he often gets outshone by the younger mids.

As for Moses, what price would u all be happy with? Personally id be happy even if we went as high as 5mil, do u think that’d be too high?

I think to do Crystal Palace justice if Arsenal buys the player, they should loan him back for the rest of the season or maybe another Arsenal player? Is what some other transfers have done.

I just really feel sorry for Palace recently, after all the bad things that have been happening to them. The Bostock fee was an outrage IMO.

kent paul: i don’t think Wenger is expecting to get him at 1m or is trying to annoy Jordan. We initially bid a lot less for Ramsey too. It’s naturally going to be a big negotiations, 1m is a decent offer considering Freeman was 500k I think and the 3m number has only came about after our initial bid.

Eh, bit of a waste of time. That wont have done any of the back four any good, harly had anything to do, only let the 2 in cuz on a lack of concerntration. Wont have done many of the other lads much good either, maybe a bit of confidance for Vela, Bendtner and Wilshire, but there were some heavy tackles in that game, we’re lucky no1 come off with an injury.

Amusing to watch, bit of a spectacle but in the end a waste of time. I dnt think Wenger enjoyed it too much.
