The Arsenal first team joined the Reserves this morning, as the majority of the playing squad returned to pre-season training ahead of the coming campaign.
The clubs official website has snapped some shots of the boys training, which show a whole spectrum of activities. Picture one shows Paul Rodgers, James Dunne, Nacer Barazite, Denilson, Jack Wilshere and Pedro Botelho jogging, whilst picture two details the likes of Randall, Simpson, Fonte with the first team.
The other two feature new signing Aaron Ramsey settling in. You can view these selected images by clicking the links below.
These pictures and more can all be found on the official website. All photo’s are copyright Arsenal FC.

Who’s the guy behind Rodgers? in the first pic?
Ou est le pics?
James Dunne
was Bendtner there today?
I would imagine so, it was for all the young players, and players who did not play over the summer.
Was Hleb in?
Jimmy Dunne training with the first team. Sounds promising.
I admire you so much. how could you recognize randall, fonte and simpson in that mini photo :P
J. Sanderson…. I heard Guiza has already signed for Fernabache for around 25 mil euros… have you heard anything?
Photo’s taken from AFC website

——————-
most of our senior reserves were there, I thought.
You can just make them out from boots and their body stance.
Guiza? i dont know mate, im not a Mallorca or Fenerbache fan. I know he had a medical before Euro 2008, but the deal was not completed.
Was Hleb there??
If walcott, almunia, clichy, sagna were there why wasn’t hleb?
I guess that’s one less player that’s gonna be associated with us in the media.
yep guiza has signed its on reuters. I think its due to Luis Aragones and the fact he will get paid loads and score a bundle in that level of European football.
J, any idea if Wilshere will be in the squads to play in the pre-season games?
I did bid for a signed Ramsey shirt on Friday as he auctioned it at his old School’s function, unfortunately lost out.
Id imagine Wilshire has a good chance of getting on the pitch against Barnet, probably wont start thou.
Good signing for Fenerbache, ill be watching them with interest after Turkey’s great performance in the Euro’s and Kazim-Richards emergance for Turkey, theres another 1 that England let slip throu their grasps. Always going on about having no players, and then a player who would have never got into the England side or probably a top premiership side for that matter makes it at the top in another country. I thought Mark McGhee’s comments about him were disgusting aswell, impossible to work with, or just not a good enough manager to get the best out of him?
kazim richards is not good enough for england im sorry
turkey do better than england not because of better players but because of a better spirit, better managing and a togetherness in the squad that has not been present in an england squad since euro ’96
Sorry to repeat myself, but does anyone know if hleb was at training???
surely he was due to report today??
Hleb should have been there. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t have been. J, do you have any idea what the plan is for Merida this season?
J, are you sure it’s Fonte? I thought we’d loaned him out to Sporting.
Hleb is due to report to training on Thursday. I think he will train in pre-season as usual but will end up at Barcelona once they raise the funds. Espically since Zenit want £23 million for Arshavin. Question is who will replace Hleb?
I’d prefer a like for like replacement (with more goals) as opposed to a conventional winger like Quaresma
Silva maybe!
James Dunne and Rui Fonte are the weak links from what i’ve seen. I agree with most about Paul Rodgers though. Not a CB, potentially, an excellent FB – left or right (better at right). Coaching staff need to work on his technichal ability though.
“turkey do better than england not because of better players but because of a better spirit, better managing and a togetherness in the squad that has not been present in an england squad since euro ‘96”
Well hopefully Capello can change all that, im still not sure about him sticking with Beckham but he still hasnt had his first competative game to pick a squad for yet so u never know how it’ll change to the ones he played in all the friendlies.
I duno about Kazim Richards though, he’s young, he looked brilliant in Turkey’s last game against Germany, he had a couple of good champions league games, duno how he does in Turkey cuz i dont watch Turkish football (other than the champions league and uefa cup sides) but i still feel hes one that could have gone to say Blackburn, or Newcastle etc.. and made an impact.
He reminds me of David Bentley but lacking a bit of Bentley’s composure and awareness on the ball. Probably not England material true but its strange how these players go over-looked sometimes. U just feel that if premiership clubs spent 250k on players like him rather than 16.5mil on darren Bent there might be a few clubs chanlenging the top 4. Its not cuz they have’nt got the money to match the top 4, its cuz they dont have managers like Wenger who can find top quality players for less than 10mil. I meen if u look at players like Clichy or Sagna, if it’d been Newcastle or Tottenham knocking on the door instead of us they probably would have gone to them aswell, and then they’d have 2 of the best full backs in the world.
“I’d prefer a like for like replacement (with more goals) as opposed to a conventional winger like Quaresma
Silva maybe!”
Lol, take it from some1 how lives in Portugal, theres nothing Conventional about Quaresma, and i meen that in a good and bad way. But i see what u meen and Silva or some1 in the same sort of mould would be very Welcome in my eyes.
i dont care about england, just french expats, but honestly, england are shite because the players are a bunch of idiots with hugely inflated egos.
J, what do you make of Hleb’s recent comments to the press? If it’s clear he wants to leave, and PHW and the board are anticipating his departure, will Nasri be his replacement, or will Wenger go out and buy another wide player to replace Hleb? If so, who do you believe can replace him (in our price range)?
Hleb was just stating facts. Fabregas likes to shoot while he (Hleb) doesn’t. This is just the normal crap from the press trying to create a story where there isn’t one.
that hleb story has been completely discredited, completely taken out of context and a twisted translation, he should sue the sun.
J.S. what will happen with merida this year???
Great to see them back and JS what happened to Torrick Jibril and how do you rate the chabces of us getting Diogo
“turkey do better than england not because of better players but because of a better spirit, better managing and a togetherness in the squad that has not been present in an england squad since euro ‘96″
This is not entirely true – if you watched Euro 2008, Turkey are actually a talented technical team and played football with the ball on the ground and passed quite well.
Passenal: The comment wasn’t based around technical skill though. And seeing as 9 players in the Champions League final were English while none were Turkish, I think our country isn’t lacking in technical skills or passing ability. Especially with Chelsea (second lowest long ball rate in the country) and Utd being where the best English players currently are, the talent is not the problem. It’s the horrible horrible egos and the comment about spirit being why Turkey did so better was so true. However, with a great manager (the best in my lifetime? Wenger v. Capello v. Fergie (maybe v. Cryuff, when did he stop?) FITE) and the likes of Arsenal, City and West Ham genuinely producing talents for the future who don’t seem to have the same ego problems (yet) we saw of Lampard and co, we could be a force in the future. It’s a long way off yet, Lampard still has to retire and we still need a keep.
Kazim-Richards is balls. Always has been, isn’t particularly liked in Turkey, will be rubbish when he ends up at City or Newcastle. Someone playing the Championship could play like Leo Messi a couple games in a row, it doesn’t make them Leo Messi.
Torrick Jibril – signed for Atletico Madrid in Spain.
Diogo – its in the balance at the moment, we must wait.
j anderson i wanna know how do u find out info so fast?
Hello guis, i am from russia. I am fan great arsenal!
Arsenal are trying to flog Ade I don’t think they’ll take kindly to being exposed by Milan. This will no doubt put strain on an already dificult negotiation between the clubs. In turn this could cause a bit of an auction now that clubs know Ade is for sale.
I hope we bring in Huntelaar to replace him, but knowing Arsene its more likely to be a low profile, unproven signing like Diogo for e.g. or even promoting a youngster. What do you think J.
Diogo is apparently as good as, if not a better prospect than Pato, his coach said. And he’s 21, 3 years older.
Jack Wilshere don’t look that small in that picture.
Why are everybody asking about Hleb? Adebayor, Eboue, Toure and Song did not play in the EURO08 and they were not there. So it is clear that some players did not have to start training today.
Aparantly Alexander Hleb was misquoted in the press and that he did not slag off Arsene Wenger or Francesc Fabregas, some how though i do not believe him
One notable absence from training today… NASRI! Where the f**k is he?! And, why do we seem incapable of signing him? What a load of wank this has all turned out to be.
Nasri will be a star!!!
I can feel Ramsey a great player from the look on his face. I believe he will be our Arsenal’s Paul Schole in the future =)
Samuel, I’m not suggesting England don’t have any technical skill, but equally you were dismissing the Turkish players technical skills and suggesting it was spirit alone that got them as far as they got in the Euro’s. I think it was a combination of both.
hi, guys I fans Mr Wanger
Passenal: Oh, their first team had great technical skill. But it was spirit that won so many games in the last five minutes.
No-one has any idea who Ade’s replacement will be. Just wait and bit those nails until your fingers become stumps.
Arsenal.com only had a handful of small pictures, in which I remember Sagna, Ramsey and Walcott all taking up at least 2 pictures. I don’t think you can accuse people of not being there unless there was an article saying so.
Hleb will be sold but Barca need to actually make a bid and as Laporta’s reign is in jeopardy it won’t happen for now and neither Adebayour. AC is the likely destination for Adebayour. I’d take the money if he is that greedy that he expects to get paid more than Fabregas. I do not expect a replacement for helb as Walcott and Vela are emerging and Nasri is coming. I think Wenger may be happy after looking at Eduardo on his return. As a replacement for Adebayour I would like to see Benzema but I suspect Santa Cruz will be the choice and maybe even Diogo being purchased and moulded into the team. As winterburn clearly stated Arsenal may sell players but only when its right. We sold Petit and Overmars when they were on form and Anelka and they did nothing afterwards. Adebayour’s first touch is nowhere near Henry level nor Pato at AC so I do not know why he thinks so highly of himself. Its a shame Agents drive the market as I expected Adebayour come three years down the line to be an excellent player but his move will hampen his development which he fails to consider.
Just totally agree with Golvinho. Wenger shouldn’t keep greedy player.
Adebayor should stay, we need to give him all the money he requires as he scores all the goals. if he goes we are stuffed and will have to rely on van persie scoring about 20 goal in his 3 or 4 appearances throughout the season.
I admire Adebayor for his scoring ability and last season he was indeed our main weapon. (..before the new haircut).
After scoring goal Adebayor will kisses the badge on his jersey but it seems as an opposite act now. Demanding another million on wages and threathing to quit the club is not trully a gooner. Seem to me Adebayor didn’t truly play for the club but money.
Never mind Mr. Wenger, release him.
Even if we are stuffed, we still have:
RvP, Walcott, Bendtner, Eduardo(get well soon), and..
our new sensation CARLOS VELA…
And Ramsey too..
