Werder Bremen Confirm Amaury Bischoff Departure

German outfit SV Werder Bremen have confirmed this morning that they have released midfielder Amaury Bischoff, ahead of his proposed free transfer to Arsenal.

The 21 year old Portugal Under 20 International spent last week in talks with Gunners officials, and is expected to put pen-to-paper with the Gunners in the next hours.

Speaking with Bremen’s official website, Bischoff issued the following statement

“Bremen was superb, but Arsenal is a huge opportunity for me,”

“Wenger has known me since my time at Strasbourg and believes in my quality. He trusts me to be in the first team.

“Wenger has not put me under any pressure. He said, ‘Take all the time you need’.”

Werder’s Managing Director Klaus-Dieter Fischer also spoke about Amaury’s departure, and whilst the club are disappointed to lose a top talent, they accept his choice to move to London

“We would be very happy to keep Amaury. But he has decided to set up to a new challenge. We wish him well and thank him for the past three years,”

Bischoffjoined from Racing Strasbourg in 2005, but a series of thigh injuries has hampered his progress, limiting him to just a handful of substitute appearances. During the three season spent in Germany, he played 62 games for Bremen Reserves, scoring on 6 occasions.

He has recently recovered from more thigh problems, and admits he is aiming to play for the Reserves to build up his fitness, before mounting a serious challenge on the first team.

“I have only just come back from a long spell out injured, so I expect to play in the reserves to get my form back, “

Amaury is a central midfielder by trade, who can also play on the right hand side. Read more on him in our exclusive fan interview Here.

Well, slowly I start to lose my faith about Nasri.
I don’t know why can’t the Arsenal or the OM or Nasri announce a **** news, which inform us that the recently informations.
Now, okay, we are talking about the dates. but it’s all gossips, and I hate the gossips…
We are waiting for him all days, and after we are disappointed that “it was an another day.”

I am sure in 99%, that Nasri’s arrival depends on Ben Arfa. If he won’t join to OM, Nasri won’t join to us.

Ben Afra’s signed for OM and been given Nasri’s number 22. I’m pretty sure hes ours then, just waiting for the announcement.

The only reason that Lyon didnt want Ben Arfa to join OM is becasue they cant pay the transfer fee. It’s now July and they will be able to once we complete the Nasri’s deal.

He wouldnt have announced that he had signed on his own website if it wasnt true.

And it never said that there would be a interwiew on the first, it said early July, not the first. I dont know why we doubting it.

The deal for Nasri was set to be announced today, along with the Ben Arfa to Marseille deal.

Marseille had agreed a deal for Ben Arfa last week, but Lyon refused to sign the release forms, meaning he couldnt complete the move. Ben Arfa was at Marseille training today wearing Nasri’s 22, but he is not there player yet.

The announcement of Nasri has been put back, until Lyon and Marseille can sort out the agreement for Ben Arfa, who will be his replacement.

Both chairmen have issued statements on the official websites, about the transfer. Nasri’s website had scheduled an Interview with Nasri today as he was set to be formally announced, but all this Ben Arfa stuff has put it back

More frustration. I didnt write about it, because frankly people are bored of it.

From what I have read I think we can assume that Bischoff will not be on too many fans shirts next season.

Until the lad signs I can not believe that this lad will be an Arsenal player, many of the posts above make good points about the players we already have and the youngsters coming through. I think perhaps he has been offered either a trial or a short term contract at best so we can assess if he is over his injuries or not and if he can get back to the player he was (what ever standard that was) before.

I have a contact at Marseilles and he has informed that Nasri has reported for training this morning and worn the number 22 he wore last season.

See I can make up bullshit as well. to all those know nothing clowns who claim to have contacts (JS excluded) do fucking grow up and stick to playing Championship manager on you PC.

Believe it when you see it (Nasri signing). arsenal has a credible way of only confirming completed signings as opposed to the mancs who had announced the signing of Ramsey. Hoping for confirmation today. No point in speculating day after day.

Asked about the formalization of the departure of Samir Nasri for Arsenal, the president of OM Pape Diouf said that the announcement would be made “in two days.” And to qualify: “Come on, in a few days”.

I’m shocked by the amount of negative comments about the potential signing of Amaury.

    a) he is out of contract so not going to cost anything.
    b) he has hardly played at all for a few years and this is a major break for him, his wages will be minimal – he won’t hold back any other signings or dent the budget available one bit.
    c) Wenger pulls out the hat more rabbits than Paul Daniels ever did so don’t ever knock a cheap signing.
d There are no details of the signing, i.e clauses how many years its for, for all we know it might be an extended trial during pre-season to see if we can pick up a v useful player for sod all money..

Think before you all slag off Wenger and this *potential* deal it could turn out to be another gem, or we could let him go, either way he will cost nothing unless he turns out to be good in which case we won’t care and we will be happy.

i think he will good for us he is got a good tackle and strong but what really bothers me is rate of injuries according to reports in germany. and i also think we should let adebayor leave ,he is not the right man for arsenals type of football relating the number of passes he get to the rate he scores,he’s got no ball control ,no first touch ,can’t make a run for himself ,he can’t bring out a goal from his own individual effort ,not creative for himself and others.

I disagree with that assesment of adebayor as i think he is a good player who works hard, holds the ball up well and at times last season he looked unplayable. His individual talent is nowhere near Henry for example but then who’s is,but his team play is better!Saying that I do think that we should let him go as he thinks he is better than what he is and we dont need an ego like that.Any player who’s heart isnt at arsenal can go no matter how good they are.It would be good business if we sold him for 30m and got santa cruz for 15m and spent the remaining money on another addition.
