Arsène Wenger is believed to have come to the rescue of Arturo Lupoli even though the 21 year old left in an acrimonious fashion after rejected a new contract with the Gunners last year.
Lupoli snubbed Arsenal’s offer of a new deal in February 2007 after an impressive loan spell at Derby County, instead opting for a big money move back to his home-land with Fiorentina. However, since he signed for Viola his once promising career descend into the wilderness, but Wenger appears to have thrown him a lifeline.
Although he has not offered him a chance to return to London, it is thought he referred his close friend Glenn Roeder to the diminutive Italian, with Fiorentina confirming an offer has been received, and further talks will be scheduled.
‘Fiorentina announces it has received an offer from English club Norwich City Football Club for the permanent transfer of striker Arturo Lupoli.’
‘Fiorentina would be willing to transfer the player on a temporary basis.’
‘The negotiations will continue in the coming days’.
Roeder admitted he would be speaking with Wenger last week, with the main topic being the potential loan of Kieran Gibbs, a deal which is expected to go through after his involvement in the Under 19 European Championships.
With the Canaries being frustrated in their attempts to lure a new forward to Carrow Road, Arsène appears to have pointed out Lupoli’s availability, showing he still keeps tracks of his former players.

Does anyone give a fuck?
^
l
?, Anyway hope he makes it.
My whole family supports the canaries so to see the arsenal link up with loan players and wengers influence is great! Hopefully it continues…
No real substance to this article.
good on wenger if its true. do you think lupoli would have made it if he didnt leave
I wondered what happened to Lupoli, Norwich may be a good move for him if he can find his feet again, compared to his old chum Bendtner the viola move did not help him at all.
Arsene Wenger is a class act, I couldnt imagine Sir Slex or Jose Mourinho helping out an ex-player that rejected the club.
Keep up the good work J.
I had high hopes for Lupoli, it was a pity he left. He was a bit lightweight but im sure he has filled out a bit. Arsene is the man!
Thats nice Dave, which charm school did you go to
P-Y This is why we have so many players taking the piss out of us in these transfer windows because Wenger doesn’t punish players for lack of loyalty
I always felt we should have tried to keep him. I can understand him not wanting to stay with such vast amount of competition, but he had a lot of potential in my eyes. It’s a shame it hasn’t worked out for him at Fiorentina, and I hope he is able to get his career back on track and realise his huge potential. Thanks for the update.
Heres a link for da full carlos vela interview:http://www.dailymotion.com/search/arsenal/video/x65i2t_carlos-vela-interview_sport
He has made zero appearance for Viola instead he was shipped out on loan to second division side Treviso. His scenario reminds of Quincy-Owusu & Bentley very impatient.
But asked about the report after last night’s friendly at Gorleston, Roeder looked bemused, saying only: “Who did he play for?” looks like fiorentina were lying…
bentley? mate he’s being touted for a 17 million pound so its surely not the same scenario.
NICe piece of info mate. U trully are a wonderful source of info for all the news related to young guns, keep up the work

J, do you think Djourou could be our dm for next season in case diaby doesn’t work out with cesc?
Great work J yet again providing a good insight into the world of Wenger and Arsenal F.C. I remember being at Highbury to watch Lupoli score on his Carling Cup debut and it would have been nice to see Lupoli spend another year out on loan from Arsenal before he moved on permanently. Obviously a goalscorer and a great finisher I have always thought he has to play up top with big striker due to his own lack of physical presence i.e His prolific partnership with Bendtner in the reserves. Would be nice to see him do well at Norwich if the deal goes ahead.

Louis: yeah, nice lol. Lehman doesn’t know the players numbers. Wonderful. We shall miss him.
Haha Lehmann sees those numbers the most cause they all played in front of him and still he doesn’t know them… Kolo is a funny guy!!
Lupoli was one of my favourite players when he was here, and its nice to see even though he rejected us, Wenger still helped him out.
J. Sanderson – I told you Adebayor is staying :D we’ll give him a payrise, Barazite will take Hleb’s place. Xabi Alonso would be great we’d have an all spanish midfield, but very unlikely to happen. Which player do you think is the closest to being signed for us?!! (I know everyone is waiting for the surprise signing)
P.S. I hope we’re not signing Gareth Barry!
Moushin i believe it is much more likely that Nasri will take Hlebs place rather than Barazite. I expect Barazite to feature heavily in Carling Cup and early round of the F.A cup and that is if he is not out on loan which i think he will be. I totally agree with you about Alonso and Barry but i suspect Wenger will go for a completely unheard of player or maybe none at all with Diaby being given more first team responsibility. I know Diarra was a prick but he would have been perfect right now.
pakistanigooner, 17m comes from pure hype of being english, it has nothing to do with ability, he is just above average @ best. What i meant was, he left top 4 club bcuz he wanted to play more hence moved & year later we lost pires, ljunberg so he would an opportunity before we bought Hleb and now he wants to go back to top 4. He is an arrogant & deluded player who thinks he is better than he actually is.
Moushin well said
Chris – I don’t think Barazite needs to be loaned out. Some players do need that but look how he established himself in his first year. He had no problem with addapting to different environment and he’s football qualities are undisputed. He just needs to be mentally ready for it and I hope he is. Otherwise I’d settle for a loan spell, as it won’t do him bad either.
I agree Diaby will be first in pick now with Denilson breathing down his neck. Maybe Wenger will come back on his comments that he sees Song as a defender and still put him in the holding position. I just hope Wenger will get us another great player :D
Mouhsin from what I have seen of Barazite in the reserves I think he is a class above the other reserve players and does look ready for first team football. However although I personally would love to see him break into the first team this year I think the most likely outcome for him next year will be Carling Cup and reserve team football or a loan spell. I am not saying he is not good enough just that personally i cant see him holding down a regular starting place on the wings ahead of Rosicky,Nasri,Eboue, Walcott and to a lesser extent Vela. I would also love to see Wenger get us another great player and i have had my heart set on Yaya. This looks extrememly unlikely now but i can imagine Wenger seeing Diaby capable of filling that midfield role. I think this could be Diaby’s season and hopefully after one good season he doesnt leave for more money. I think your right about Song aswell, he really excelled in that role in the ANC. Anyway great posting mate i always enjoy reading your comments.
superguner07, agreed with you on that but the point i was trying to make is that bentley is actualy a better player then quincy and lupoli, though i remember lupoli and his italian mate (rossi i think who was on the books of manu and now some spanish club, villareal maybe) were supposed to be the enxt big italian thing. anyhow cant wait for the season to start and to see us geting a superb midfielder (im geting xcited thinkin bout cesc n alonso) and a CB ( wouldn’t mind a nice french defender to come in, they usually are solid, maybe aquallini?)
‘aquallini’? you might be talking about alberto aquilani, who’s an italian central midfielder. unless there really is a player called aquallini, in which case he should be checked out. :P
nevertheless i almost emphatise with lupoli.. he had the makings of a future star yet instead left due to whatever reasons. and now look at his situation. poor guy
David Bentley is by far the most overrated player in the league right now. I also hate players that base their entire game on an older player like he does with Beckham. Why cant the little prick just be himself. I dont like wingers that have no pace or dribbling ability too….just like Bentley. Crap player….HUGE EGO (PRICK). Thinks he is the bees knees. Really, he thinks he’s world class already! The reason Blackburn want that much for him is cos we will be getting around 30-40% of his next transfer fee due to AW’s genius. So i say let the Spuds buy him….
