Whether you love him or hate him, Arsenal share holder Stan Kroenke is certainly making movements to try and win over Gooners. The American owns a 12.19 percentage of shares in the club, and whilst many remain skeptical of his motives, all his actions so far seem to have been in the best interests of Arsenal.
Tim Payton, amongst others from the Arsenal Supporters Trust, were recently invited to America for talks with Stan. While they were in Colorado they were shown around the clubs stadium and training facilities, and were even in town to watch the Rapids fixture against Dallas.
There is speculation that Kroenke is expected to take a position on the board shortly, and is using all his experience and business knowledge to help both Arsenal and Colorado. The two clubs have a “technical link-up”, which involves give and take on both sides. The Gunners allow the Rapids use of the training facilities during the Winter, and offer help with scouting and building an Academy.
Korenke is helping over see the building of a centre of excellence, and owns a large stake in Arsenal broadband. As Young Guns previously reported, plans are being made for an American Academy, which could see players become available for both clubs. It would also be the main base for our US based scouts.
The Rapids have invested considerable funds into the facilities, with 18 high class pitches being built recently. Kroenke, unlike Usmanov, is passionate about sports investments, and has assured both the media and AST he does not want to take over the Gunners.
Former Watford Reserve team coach Gary Smith has been drafted in to establish a centre of excellence in Commerce City, with Danny Karbassiyoon helping with the plans, as well as talking over the possibility of a new tournament which will be known as the “Arsenal Cup”. The competition will see top sides from the MLS and America will take place, giving Arsenal the perfect opportunity to establish themselves as a household name, and get an exclusive look on the latest crop of USA’s talent.

This is good thank god Kroenke is here to save the day. i say let him do everything including the transfers, im sure he could of got nasri signed up quicker.
We are in much better hands with an American than and shady Russian with a human rights record to boot.
Well, this is certainly a breath of fresh air from the usual apocalyptic threat of “Usmanov set to turn Ashburton Grove into a gambling casino” isn’t it… Yeah. It’s always hard to tell how much good will investors really have, behind all their posturing and showboating towards the fans, but if this is a competition to see who is the less of two evils, then I guess it’s fair to say that Kroenke is winning by a mile. If the man’s willing to build with us, not over us, then i’d be happy to see him become part of the Arsenal family. Right now we need all the backing we can get, with Kroenke’s weight on the boat, Usmanov stands no chance.
So, what are the real benefits of having an academy in the USA? I assume it would be mainly for scouting players in central and south america, yes?
stan is the man in my book lets hope now we get good results in the tranfer market and get rid of adi nomore
Kroneke should have the support of us gunners, he’s got the clubs best interests at heart, and getting us established in the u.s market.
wonderful to see him put his money in developing training centres and developing youth!(something that can definitely not be expected from usmanov)
Great post J!
I have been thinking about how our linkup with the Rapids works. You are probably the only one online to seriously look at the issue. I think a big issue with regards to the Rapids is the fact that in the future, we could use them to look at Mexican talent…and if Vela does prove to be as successful as we all hope, he could become a big merchandising possibility for Hispanics in the U.S. I think all of our youth players should gain experience of playing abroad, it opens up their horizons, forces them to grow up, forces them out of their comfort zone, and thus improves them as players. The MLS might not be a great standard, but it is improving and might prove useful for short term loans for some of our youngsters in the future. Youth football is also massive in the States, it seems hard to believe that there are not going to be some useful players emerging from that. No doubt Kroenke is helping us with marketing, and after the Springsteen concert at the Emirates, I’m sure the club want to look into sources of income outside football. It’s like we are back to the time of the Wild West again. But then it was gold and land, now it is fans and merchandising opportunities.
I wonder how long before we really start moving into China…
————————————-
‘Me’, explain EXACTLY what makes you think Kroenke would have been able to speed up the Nasri transfer… I would love to hear your wise logic.
Great blog mate, really like it. I think the Arsenal Cup thing is great idea.
Ethan i will give you my wise logic. He has billions so could of just offered about £30 million and theres no way marseille would of mucked about then. nasri would of been here ages ago.
So come on arsenal, let Kroenke sort out these deals and save us further torture when it comes to signings in the future.
Ethan – i totally agree, i feel that the fans feared Kroenke because he was an unknown. Now we know about him, and what he stands for.
I think it will be a long time before we have a Salamanca type arrangement, but who knows with the current rate of MLS development.
In the US, where I live (Florida), the younger generation of players are much more hispanic and even a bit more African-American than previously, and as these groups are more socio-economically disenfranchised than the suburban kids of yesteryear and today then it stands to reason, if you are a sports sociologist (does such a thing exist?), that the probabilities are better than ever that eventually the US will produce some top quality talent. But in such small quantities that I would think that the only serious reason for all this investment is to build the Arsenal brand among the soccer faithful in the US in order to sell them things, should the sport ever ‘take-off’. (Nevertheless, Kaka’s dad is a doctor, as was Leonardo’s, so it’s a question of probabilities, not generalizations or stereotypes.)
Put another way: There’s a much better chance of selling half a million replica kits than cherry picking an up and coming yank superstar of the future that can play at the top level.
Another Mexican up and coming superstar is however a real possibility. But even Vela has to prove himself yet.
me are u being dumb or just ignorant it was neva about the transfer money he has a release fee clause of 13 mil the problem was that his agent wanted to be gready and get him a better contract so plaz dont talk about thing u dont understand
Kroenke is certainly doing well to appease the fans.
I am really excited about this. As an American I am happy about the prospect of football becoming a more mainstream sport in the States, especially if it mean greater exposer for Arsenal. Most of the people my age in the US that support football are Mancs or Chavs. I think this will be great for Arsenal’s exposer to a very large market with a love for sports and plenty of disposable income.
Pingback: Kroenke Helping Arsenal With American Academy
Yeah ‘Me’, I have to say, you are a bit of an idiot.
Kroenke is not supposed to buy players for us, the Rapids and Arsenal are in a business link-up, he has nothing to do with transfers. He is a shareholder, not the owner, so it’s only Arsenal money that goes towards buying players.
It’s good that Americans are investing primarily in our football. Hopefully direction of these funds will limit US Soccer (hate that word) from growing too popular. The thought of the US dominating world international football is frightening. Thank goodness for The World Series and the game which is a bit like rugby only longer and more boring (yes I know the ball goes forward as well). Don’t start me on “light beer” !
Great post J.
Ethan I like your comment but my concern is that the level of football is still very low I would rather see us linking up with european or south american clubs than with an American club. Linking up with colorado rapids will be commercially very interesting for us but sports wise I don’t think we will gain from it. Colorado Rapids will gain from it sports wise as it will use Arsenal’s expertise and maybe even it’s players. If we would go to China again it will be for commercial reasons. The football system in this country’s is at a low level. Do correct me if you think I am wrong?
haha..
me is a twat
i dont know whats wrong with this ‘me’
he sounds like an idiot …
aite guys?
I believe we have an agreement with a Chinese team? or Japanese? They came over to train with us last year, and Arsenal.com follows their progress.
Its all about marketing, getting the Arsenal brand all over the world. Kroenke is a big and experienced business man, we should delighted he is working with us.
@ Chrissie.
Soccer is a lovely word. It’s short for Association Football and distinguishes it from Rugger (Rugby Football) and has been used in England for over 100 years.
He is a strange one:
M assive
E go
Sorry ‘Me’ but I have to agree, you are a plank m8, as I see it the Nasri deal was a done deal back when Samir ‘leaked’ the news, but Marseille weren’t ready due to the Ben Arfa/July issues, so Arsene set him away on his holidays for some R&R before the season starts, he will be announced officially when he returns from hols (10 days according to his agent) and then he’ll join up with all the other Euro 2008 boys. (IMHO)
jay is the academy meant to be like a soccer schhol that we have around the world and do you know any other academys around the world that we have
@ Jamie.
Good piece mate. One thing that I’m not quite sure has been made clear is that Kroenke is funding the centre but we are staffing it initially. We have control of the academy and first refusal on any players that come out of it. Make no mistake this is an Arsenal academy on their soil.
@ Moushin.
The game over there is growing from the bottom upwards. It’s becoming more and more popular at youth level but the lack of footballing opportunities mean most kids gave it up in their teens but the more opportunity the more chances of top players coming through. You may be surprised looking around how many yanks are already playing in Europe.
jay the partnership we have is with a vietnamese and thailand club not chinese or japanese jay is it possible you could list all the clubs we have ties or links with such as southend and colorado and figuirense and dont you think arsenal should get a soccer school or academy in brazil. and are them 18 pitches the rapids made all for us.
I’m glad the general consensus amongst my fellow Gooners is that Kroenke is good for the club. He seems an honest man, one of integrity and his track record only reinforces this view i have of him. Equally pleased to see the hate directed towards Usmanov. May i just say “We don’t want his type here”, lol. But Tigger, (and anyone else for that matter), correct me if i’m wrong but if Stanley joins the board, like what we’ve been told is in the pipeline, doesn’t that mean he can contribute towards players’ wages and transfer fees? I swear thats how it works…
haha..
agree with u chrissie Greeno
i sick and tired with this ‘me’
he sould never talk about a thing that he really ont know..
it makes him look soooooo stupid s.o.b
rapids are making retail and shop facilities around the stadium and i was thinking arsenal should open a shop there like the have in phiket and bangkok and st albans
@ TJ.
Anyone can contribute to the players wages and fees by sending the club a cheque. Being on the board is no different.
btw about those ‘His sort’ comments. PHW was quite right to say those things when he did because you must remember that at the time Kroenke was aided by Dein and had made absolutely no statement as to his intentions. Basically there was a hostile takeover in the offing from an American businessman who wouldn’t talk to the club about his intentions.
J, ur a legend
aaaww i wish i was at least a few years younger so when they do open the academy i could fly over from california to colorado and tryout. sadly, i have 2 more years before i go to college unless i play there.
Good and informative article (as usual), and im glad hes goin about this the right way, showing what he can and is willing to do for the club instead of just throwing his financial weight around. I dont trust him though, if the top share holders haddnt made that pact he would have thrown his weight around and gone for an aggressive takeover, i believe its only cuz of the pact that hes doing all this stuff to try and win the other shareholders, board and fans over.
Im very worried about the financial implications a take-over can mean for a club, just cuz some1 has alot of cash it doesnt meen their willing to splash it, and it can quickly lead to the manager having less to spend than he did before. It also means that if the owner himself gets into financial difficulties outside of his dealing with the club, its untimatley a death sentance (financially) for that club.
I dont mind him being a share holder, or being on the board (as is his right if hes guna put alot of money into the club), but i dont want the club to be owned by him or any other single individual for that matter.
‘Me’
Indeed. I can just see it now. Picture the scene. Arsenal announce a press conference. In walks Arsene, Nasri and Kroenke. The question is asked: ‘How did the transfer come about?’ Kroenke explains: “Basically, Samir was always going to sign, but I felt it was very important to get him signed early, so as to appease a few Arsenal ‘fans’ such as the infamous ‘Me’…I was told they would cry themselves to sleep every night if Nasri did not sign ASAP, so that alone convinced me throw millions of dollars at the deal”
Then again, back in reality, (beckons ‘Me’ to wake up) this would never happen. As I said before, you don’t know why the transfer has been held up
i think Stan Kroenke has almost done enough to convince me of his good motives for arsenal, i believe that he genuinely wants to improve the foothold arsenal could control in the USA and building a youth academy there would be a great step in my opinion. With the sheer population of the USA (one of largest in the world) its not hard at all to believe that sooner or later, America will produce a “soccer” phenomena, a player to rival the best stars in football, one that puts the USA team on the map, which Landon Donnovan some would argue has done, but is completely absurd imo.
…another brilliant post by the best arsenal blog period.
okay man why are some people coming on this site, then making comments not welcomed, and indicating even more that they do not know anything about football. well you make your mind up on who it is, but i know you lot are thinking like me. lets just show how stupid they actually are to us.
oh and J.S this site is tooo popular, oh and could you do a little article on who you think is going to feature more next season and how their future lies, of the english players of arsenal. ie, gibbs, randall, lansbury, wilshere. thats if you are not too busy, thanks. keep up the work.
Thanks Ein, i fully understand why PHW took that stance and ur right with what u say. However….”Anyone can contribute to the players wages and fees by sending the club a cheque. Being on the board is no different.”…….THIS is something that i strongly am against. This can’t be right. I know it happens but there’s no two ways about it. It’s SCANDALOUS man. I swear Abramovich owns CSKA Moscow. Yeh it dont say his name on the deeds of the club cos he aint stupid but i’m pretty sure he OWNS that club. Real Madrid were in serious debt a few years back and sold their training ground to the government to balance the books and then bought it back off them some months/a year later for a lot less than they sold it for….now i dont know if either of these two things are true or not but i know i aint the only one who’s heard this before. Also, are u saying that any rich git can just send Arsenal Football Club a cheque even though they have nothing whatsoever to do with the club? I think FIFA might have something to say about that.
Me’s logic may be stupid in saying Kroenke would speed up the deal, but he is merely frustrated at how long this saga is going on. Sure his arrival is imminent, but we would all like to see him come sooner then later. His previous points have been right in saying that we shouldnt get mucked around by Marseilles (spelling?) or Nasri – sign , or fuck off. IM sure he hasnt been on holiday all the time since the Euros finished, so we should have said sign then, or fuck off – and concentrate on other targets. Me has however been wrong in slagging off J.S as he is a top bloke who puts very hard effort into this – and even though hes been wrong once or twice, so has everyone and J is right most of the time
So to “Me”, youhave some fair points, with good and bad logic and everyone is entitled to their opinions. BUT STOP SLAGGING OFF J.S :)
Strange how things turn around isn’t. ‘Sir’ Peter Hill-Wood must be kicking himself for saying he didn’t want Kroenke’s ‘sort’ when he first showed an interest in The Arsenal.
Let’s see where this takes us.
Just out of interest, does anyone have a figure for our worldwide supporters? Know it’s difficult to say for sure, but there must be a way of measuring it (Man United claim on their website to be “The World’s most popular football team”, and they wouldn’t lie would they? *cough* …but in all seriousness, how do they work that out, because to make that comment, they must have figures or otherwise they would have to put ‘probably’…)
Also JS, I don’t think it will be the size of the MLS which will ensure that the Rapids will never gain the role that Salamanca have, it’s the fact that the main reason we use the Spanish club is that non-EU players can gain work permits through playing there. In that respect, the Rapids will never be as useful. But they do have more scope for a merchandising link-up. I remember hearing stories of Man United linking up with the New York Yankees with respect to merchandising…don’t know if it is still the case, but there are massive opportunities in such a deal.
Joshwaaaa – just explain, how are we sure it is Marseille who are messing us around, and thus slowing down the transfer? As I have said before, how do you know it is not coming from our side? ie Arsene wanting more time to work out how his team is going to fit together for next season?
TJ – I meant the ‘sending cheque in’ thing as a bit of a flip comment to show that you don’t have to be on the board but there is some truth in both stories you mention.
CSKA are blatantly Abramovic’s but there’s no paper trail. He funds it by sponsoring them through one of his companies..
Madrid weren’t bailed out by the government (as is often said) but by a consortium of local bankers who funded the land purchase, and the cheap purchase of replacement land nearby. Real is a right wing (politically) club and have a very right wing following and these bankers have similar views. So long as there are powerful people around with those views Real will always have plenty of money. File that under sad but true.
Thanks for clearing that up mate. J.S, can u read my question bout Sanchez Watt right at the bottom of the page of the Daniel Boateng story and update me on that one please mate.
I don’t know the old duffer but i think he would be a good prospect at Arsenal.
One thing is the USA is definatly becomeing a major source for young talent, over the next few years i expect the quality of the USA national side and the yanks that make it over here to be much better. Dont get me wrong, its one of the last countries in the world i want to achieve a rise in young talents, id much prefear it if they were coming from Mexico or eastern europe, but America looks on course to be one of Europes largest feeder countries.
TJ – I replied to your comment mate.
I believe that American is certainly an up and coming football power, the huge amount of investment and stuff will pay off soon.
hi sanders ive seen a report on sky sports about nasri coming in 10 days after his holiday why didnt you put something on here about that??
Interesting article j,
Kroenke has done exceptionally well with Colorado Avalanche and spent well with the Denver Nuggets in hopes of a serious run.
Outside of that, however, his clubs aren’t the best around in fact far from it .
Really hard to see him making any real difference as far as spending power but like u said he is a sportsman and sharp when dealing with finance so perhaps it is a good thing he may take a seat but i still somewhat feel wary as he hasn’t shown urgency in any of his US clubs when most continue to struggle to even be average.
kroenke seems to be a good bloke. i wouldnt mind him on the arsenal board as this seems an area that arsenal are lacking in at the moment
Lets not all pull down our pants, bend over and let Kranky do us from behind just yet.
The fella has more of a track record when it comes to sporting francjises than the odious fat russian r*pist, true.
And I feel he should be given a seat on the board as he is a majir share holder.
But lets not forget Dein tried to jump in bed with this dude to TAKE OVER Arsenal, not out of some humanitarian aid rescue, but to line his own pocket.
He should be welcomed, but kept at arms length.
He endeth the lesson.
BTW; Anyone taking ‘me’ seriously is a bit of a dope. The guy’s a wind up merchant.
Hi J Sanderson!

Stop talking to yourself.
The sooner Kroenke takes the club over, the better we’ll be.
Get rid of our clueless board, and put some pressure on Wenger to win NOW, rather than in 5 years time when his own pet-projects finally produce something.
Money isn’t evil.
Internet tumbleweed alert
1. I believe ‘soccer’ is America’s biggest sport for under 10s. Partly because it’s easier to arrange, cheap and the rules are simple. It doesn’t yet have the pull of the big 4 to keep them after that age but with so many participating, it should balloon sooner rather than later. Add on stars like Beckham and… Ronaldinho (that rumour seems to be gaining weight?) and with a country with so many participating is gonna produce a huge wealth of talent. It’s good that we are setting up an academy to take advantage of that. Hell, I think it’s just as likely to find the next great American star as it is the next Mexican. And to get the first giant American star in the game (lol not adu) would give us financial benefits currently unheard of in such an unopen market. It will also help be a proper base for scouting the America’s.
2. PHW and the fans were right to judge Kroenke how we did. He was associated with the ghastly turn-coat Dein. The Dein family that screwed us concerning Henry and is now trying to convince Adebayor to leave. It has taken him this long to state that he’s trying to help us and took too long to say he wasn’t trying to ruin us! And look at the debt (that keeps rapidly inflating) at other US owned plaything Utd and Liverpool. Kroenke now looks like a good prospect to have on the board, he is passionate and looks like he will help while doing no harm (and is in every way superior to Fat+Orange) but with the PR disaster of him buying into the club, we were right not to trust him.
And for people like Jimbo: it’s so very naive that thinking a takeover will help the club come out of the rut it’s in. Arsenal purposely acquired debt and took on the burdens of tiny transfer budgets and such for the long term future of the club. We have spent the past 5 years making us a team that went from being over-achievers at the top to a team that deserves to be there. Whoever is in charge whether it’s Fiszman, Kroenke, me or yo’ momma will look great running a team that’s already done most of the hardwork sustaining CL qualification and making it to finals until we start reaping the real benefits that mean we can compete with Real and Milan and Utd every year instead of the Tottenhams and Valencias and Romas.
“Korenke is helping oversea”
Don’t wanna sound like a knob but maybe you should reconsider a word up there ;)
That said I love the site J, so keep it up fella!
great site, keep it up!
a lot of player’s position is unclear, any idea?
Diaby–Defensive Mid or Left Mid?
Ramsey–Centre Mid(Att or Def?) or Winger?
Vela–Forward or Left Wing?
Song–CB or Defensive Mid?
Djourou–CB, Right Back or Defensive Mid?
Hill-Wood behaved like a spoiled brat when Dein tried to introduce Kroenke. It was a lesson in little-britain small-mindedness and xenophobia, and the man is a complete disgrace to the club. He’s well and truly out of touch with the real world, and the sooner this moron, who thinks he has a God-given right to run Arsenal, is toppled from his pedestal, the better it will be for all concerned.
And Samuel, in case you hadn’t noticed, the ‘team’ we’ve spent 5 years building, is busy dismantling itself as you speak. Great job, Arsene…
Kroenke doin a gud job nd is a gud bznsman……bt his bznsman status is wat i fear…..mayb he is jst tryin to win our trust wid a long term take over plan in hold….money frm outside is welcum bt i dnt want arsenal to be cntrld by any individual….i dnt wanna be in a postn y i hate chelsea…..i luv d way our club is operated
‘Me’
I think you need a ‘spell’ in an academy but sadly one that focuses on English as opposed to football
Adebayor scoored 30 goals last season but how many did he miss?
3 times the amount, he is not good its just that we gave him a lot of chances and he wasted 2/3 of them! so comeon you gooners sell him and buy crouch ( who takes 2/3 chances of them, we would have won the title if it wasn’t for Adebayor
How about a conspiracy theory….
Just supposing that Kroenke and Dein are actually working together. If Usmanov was not in the picture then PHW would never even consider allowing Kroenke to come aboard. But basically with Usmanov increasing the pressure…the board is deciding to go with the lesser evil so the speak. It is looking increasingly likely that Kroenke will take over the club eventually..and I wouldn’t put it past Dein to make a triumphant return to the club and overthrow the current board.
Dein stands to gain everywhere
(1) He made his money by selling his stake to Usmanov
(2) If Kroenke buys out the board’s stake….usmanov’s stake will be practically worthless.
(3) Dein gets back at the helm of affairs.and possibly Wenger stays on
Imagine if Usmanov was never in the picture…..none of the above 3 would have been possible. The only loser (if at all) would be Usmanov and the board. All in the realms of speculation…but with DD being such a shrewd business man….this would be one of the shrewdest tactical moves in the history of takeovers :D….i wouldn’t put it past him :)..plus I can’t see why DD would consider selling out to a man with such a past and a Man Utd fan ….and yeah..I just finished reading ‘Prisoner of Birth’ by Jeffery Archer :))
I dont like stan or anyone for that matter! But between Usmanov and him I would choose Kroenke anyday!!!
Jimbo: Yep, our best players: Cesc, Sagna, Clichy, Toure, van Persie all leaving aren’t they? We won’t even be able to field 11 players next season! Wenger out! All 3 have been discussed to death and the concensus was Flam was a mistake, Ade and Hleb could be replaced quite easily to improve the team (and can bring in more funds to improve it further). Also, we don’t want cry-baby money whoring mercinaries, so i’m ok with us replacing some of our first team for the better.
Wayne: That doesn’t make sense. Kroenke and Dein supposedly get on terribly which is why he ran off to Usmanov. If Kroenke gets on the board or achieves a hostile takeover, Dein will not be anywhere close to what he wants: COMPLETE CONTROL. Also, Wenger has a job regardless, why sack the man that still achieved Cl qualification and many finals and nearly won the title while we have spent the past 5 years in neccesary transition.
It’d be a kick in the teeth for you to take an ugly girl who was smart and funny but wanted you to pay for her to become the most beautiful woman in world. You love her and say ok, even though you can’t really afford it. So you take out loans, work extra shifts, eat economy beans for years and it takes years but she ends up a supermodel, a real goddess. She’s not only smart, humble and funny, she’s now just perfect. And then dumps yo’ ass. That’s what happens if we dump Wenger now, let him at least see out the marriage he’s kept in beautiful football and always kept in the Champion’s League. There may even be a time soon when he can go spunk 70m on players like Utd or Barca or your FM team and it won’t be a thing, like we all want him to do.
a lot of player’s position is unclear, any idea?

Diaby is an offensive CM at heart.
Ramsey ditto. The main comparisons doing the rounds are that he is Scholes/Geerard-esque. But there are also rumours Wenger sees him playing like a more creative Flamini.
Vela: Out-and-out forward. For first season though and while Rosicky is Rosicky, he may be LW super-sub a lot.
Song: Now our 3rd choice CB.
Djorou: Since he’s barely played since Birmingham, it’s not sure. Wenger has said well in the past he thinks he could be a great CB but Djorou has spent the summer saying he wants to step it up and replace Flamini. DM. I suspect he may play more than expect too.
Vote J to replace Sepp Blatter at Fifa!!!!!!
How many great players from US have been so far, and how many have played in the premiership? Build an academy in Africa or South/Latin America and I would understand it would be the best for the club. Though of course its great for us football…and all in all it is the outside EU quota, and how many would get a work permit.
lesser of two bad solutions, though Kroenke seems not to be the worst of the two I would like to keep the club in stable self run ownership and not as a commodity in the supermarket. Even Kroenke would sell the club at last, who then?
@Samuel: I hope my post didn’t imply that Wenger should be sacked. Because I’m a die-hard Wenger fan….and support his policies to a hilt. Even if we don’t get anyone this summer….i’m still confident that we will put out a team who can still challenge. Wenger’s youth policy is just about starting to pay off….there is no way that he should leave or be sacked. What i was saying was Wenger may not choose to continue post 2011 with the current state of affairs..but if Dien is back then things might be different.
And regarding Dien and Kroenke not getting along with each other….wasn’t it Kroenke’s interest which actually sparked Dien’s ouster form the board?. This feeling of animosity that supposedly exists between Kroenke and Dien can actually suit them well. If there is even an inkling that Dien and Kroenke get along well with each other….then the board will put a complete stop to the partnership with Kroenke. In any case even if he is with Usmanov…he will have zero control…since he doen’t hold any shares…and anything that he says or does will have to be with the permission of Usmanov. Kroenke would be a much better bet. For seeking a investor…Dien couldn’t have picked a worse person then Usmanov..so much so that Kroenke is actually starting to look like a saviour now. Did Dein do this on purpose?…possibly. Reiterating that this is just speculation on my part…..but all i was trying to say is that if things do turn out this way…then ..much as I hate the idea of a financial investor taking over Arsenal….i still think that it wuld be a absolutely brilliant tactic from DD.
Personally I want things to stay the way the are. Money or no money….a title is not far away from Arsenal’s grasp. If DD wants to cut off ties with AU and come back to Arsenal at this moment…I would welcome him back. If only because…i think we are missing his negotiation skills in completing transfers.
Cheers,
and as far as I can see in the words of Platini, both Manchester Utd. and Chelsea has debt over 600 million pounds…so how does that work in long term? As far as I can see…if mr. Chelski get tired tomorrow, the aging Chelsea goes down the drain. Us on the other hand, can keep patient, with a young squad that has already proved that it can win titles and a hugely improving economy, can find ourselves on an amazing position in a few years, and buy up all the stars of chelsea when they go bankrupt…though who want those greedy ba…? We already had Flamini
Be patient and we will see the benefits of the stadium and the growing economy, and dont get impatient with the Chelskis likes flashing their dollars. In a few years Mr. Chelski will be gone, and then they will go bankrupt with no improven infrastructure, huge wages to aging players and already over 600 million pounds in debts..
then we can all go grab a pint in good conscience, and see Chelski against Plumbers United
NEW INFO!
I have read on the “Szombathelyi Haladas” official website (this is the club which will play a match with the Arsenal at the end of this month.) that the Arsenal wiil annonunce the list of the players who will travel to Austria on 15th July. (Probably…)
So, if Nasri will go to Austria, he will be announced before 15th.
I cant wait to see Kroenke on the Board as he will help push business issues on it as at the moment we could due with more work on our business side. Dont be so thrilled about making money in america as americans are very into their own sports, nba, nfl and nhl with football fourt so it is hard to gain large fan bases their but while it is possibil asia is a much larger and more lucritive market and in fact the usa only really offer large sponsership deals. I still believe we should try and gain fans in the us and espicaly mexico an unexplored market but it would not hurt if we did somthing more about asia
i have been hearing, SANCHEZ WATT is being targetted by Barcelona which i find strange-his he reall that good?
well he was first classed as the next big thing, then his popularity went down a bit, then he got offered a pro contract just recently indicating he really is good and has impressed this season.
jay the partnership we have is with a vietnamese and thailand club not chinese or japanese.jay is it possible you could list all the clubs we have ties or links with such as southend and colorado and figuirense and salamanca jay is the academy meant to be like a soccer schhol that we have around the world and do you know any other academys around the world that we have.dont you think arsenal should get a soccer school or academy in brazil. and are them 18 pitches the rapids made all for us.
rapids are making retail and shop facilities around the stadium and i was thinking arsenal should open a shop there like the have in phuket and bangkok and st albans
