It seems that although Arsenal beat of competition from Manchester United and Everton to sign Aaron Ramsey nearly a month ago, the bitterness around his decision to join the Gunners still burns strong.
I read this interesting piece yesterday on a United blog, which tell you all you need to know about Rambo’s choice to reject the club he supported as a boy. Instead of focusing on the main theme of the article, which was Klass Jan Huntelaar’s reported transfer battle between Arsenal & Man Utd, they decided to make a petty dig the club and player.
The arrogant and complacent attitude shown on this blog, mirrors United’s actions and shows exactly why he turned them down. They did not seem even slightly excited about Ramsey’s potential on their forums, and then showed a classless bitter attitude to the whole transfer.
Making a player feel wanted is rule one in transferring players.
“We’re not going to be having too many sleepless nights over missing out on the teen, as thoughts of our league and European Cup double will be more than enough to keep us warm. Not only that, the fact that we’re looking likely to beat Arsenal to long term target Klaas Jan Huntelaar is something to celebrate. Ramsey who?”
They thought everything would go fine for them because they won two trophies, that they put little effort into sealing the signature of the most sought after youngster in England.
Sure we may have won nothing, but we still have out values and class.
Article By – J.Sanderson
thats typical united for you we are also linked with a united target falcao from boca hope he gooes to us just to see what they say then
I just read it. How embarassing for anyone reading it. There is no real information stated, just bitterness over losing out on a player. I mean if he so unimportant to United why are they still thinking about him?
he’s from River Plate and not Boca
Well said JS.
gr8 article J looks like sour grape to me and arent we ment to be getting falcao frm river plate who is also wanted by man utd
als it’s a sad day as it looks like a true arsenal legend is leaving so i would like to wish gilberto good luck and thank him for the memories
Manc scum in bitterness shocker! Ever been on redcafe?
“Ramsey who?”
I wonder who they are talking about, I don’t know any player with the first name Ramsey.
Falcao is very highly rated in South America. I dont know if Wenger would put so much cash on a player we might struggle to get a work permit for, and an unproven talent.
Ya best of luck Bert.
Utd what a shower of arrogant bastards, I just hope Real step in and buy Huntaleer if he doesnt come to us. ABU
It’s true; United and their arrogant fans are the most despicable in all of football. It’s this attitude that makes me hate United more than any other club or for any other reason. It’s not their easy to hate players, how dirty they are, how whiney they are, or the fact that a sack of crap like Wes Brown has multiple league winners’ medals, it’s the arrogance and complete and utter lack of class that does it for me.
Dummies searching for an exit door, while holding to their nerve soothing hankies. Just like saying the lady is not of a looker, after being politely rejected for a dinner.
I dont know bout u lot but i cant remember being this excited about our chances going into a new campaign. It would be less encouraging if Ade stays mind you. AW with big cash is our premier league rivals’ biggest fear!!
Man Utd fan here..
it was a pretty poor article clutching at straws (the united one)
Some fans just don’t know when to shut up and embarrass the rest of us hey lol
Wrighty – spot on.
Good luck Gilberto as well.. end of a legend!
Typical UTD supporter and what pissed Keane off – not resting on your laurels and remembering good times. Not just saying this as im an Arsenal supporter but he made the best choice for his carreer. As previously noted the amount of players who have not made it at Arsenal who are doing well at other clubs ie Bentley, Laursen, Sidwell (At Reading was good), Harper. Most UTD players go into oblivion or rot at Sunderland.
Id be more worried if i was a UTD supporter with Querez going and old red nose going a bit senile.
Futures good for the gunners!!
Thats why I hate them more than any other football team, they are classless. They are the schoolboy thugs who when things don’t go there way get bitter and twisted. If all other teams played on a level playing field against them the end results would be very different. Their chairman now runds the Prem and you can all see the results the last 2 seasons since he took over
J has Gilberto gone? I thought it was pure speculation.
I read an interesting piece that Queroiz (spelling?) is the main reason for their players doing so well, because he helps all the boys from abroad to settle down, and Fergie does not like doing that sort of thing.
chazwazza – Peter Hill-Wood confirmed he gave Pana permission to speak with the player, and if Gilberto is happy to go there, both clubs would try and find an agreement.
He’s on his way to Greece today apparently chazwazza. PHW even confirmed it. But it’s only for talks right now. Theo’s got a sick Audi, and i just saw Ramsey’s new Audi too. Better still (and probably the best news we’ve received all summer), Tommy Rosicky is back in light training according to Sky Sports. Boy how we missed him last year. Him and Cesc together are a nightmare for the comp. I hope his injury problems are way behind him.
Ya I say there is some truth in the Quieroz rumour J, because remember the many foreign failures prior to his arrival-Veron,Djemba Djemba,Forlan,Blomquist etc.
Perhaps minus his influence old red nose wont be attracting the foriegn youths no more
J thanks – i saw that article but sometimes dont belive whats said in papers. I agree end of legend, id prefer him to stay as hes a mature head and would be good for the young players but as proved many many times before Arsene knows best. Good to Gilberto luck if its true.
I will be wearing my Gilberto shirt to the Emirates Cup as a tribute to one of my favourite players.
Spot on J. I ALWAYS said ol’ red nose is hopeless without a good no 2. Even McClaren – shit manager but an excellent no 2 and the REAL reason they did the treble. Nani and Anderson wouldnt even be there if it wasnt for Queer-Rose…..lol
Seb Larrson is the best player we have sold whom came through our youth system. Only player whom would get a game at us now
Does anyone know new about Nasri? I hope the Arsenal will announce firstly him, and just after Hleb.
Ha ha ha Djemb Djemba the only person to declare bankrupt on £30k a week. Maybe Adabayor will be next?
J – do you know if the Arsenal Board have appointed a new MD yet?
Blah, i dont particually want Huntelaar as i dont think he’d fit in so well at Arsenal, his attitude is all wrong at times. Good player though.
But Utd and Utd fans tend to act with incredible amounts of arrogance at times, nt as bad as Chelsea…but there again, Chelsea’s arrogance is a newly found arrogance, where as Utd’s arrogance goes back decades.
But neva mind, we’ve gor Ramsey and in 3 seasons time that could mean something very differant, it could up up feeling the same as saying, we’ve got Henry, or Vieira, etc…
chazwazza – Nobody has been appointed as yet, we should get somebody before the summer ends.
United fans think they will improve there repuatation by writing comments calling Gooners wankers… Hmmm
Liverpool fan here and you are correct! Aresenal are a club with class, tradition and honesty and above all a commitment to developing good young players. Maybe thats the reason young Ramsey chose your club! Best of luck for the new season
“No Wonder Ramsey Chose Arsenal Over Man Utd”, i presume the real reason is that he shall walk straight in to your first eleven next season with so many of your players leaving, or wanting to do so…
I suspect there’s more to this story…
Ramsey says he’s targeting the starting spot for the opening game against WBA. Now there’s no way he would have made a statement like that if Wenger had told him he was going to grow in the reserves and play in the Carling Cup.
Clearly, IMO, Wenger told him he has serious first team plans for him this season. Now you compare that with Ferguson promising to loan him back to Cardiff …
““No Wonder Ramsey Chose Arsenal Over Man Utd”, i presume the real reason is that he shall walk straight in to your first eleven next season with so many of your players leaving, or wanting to do so…”
coughronaldocough
Only 1 player has gone and 2 look likely to leave, Hleb and Gilberto, Adebayor wont. Its not even definate Hleb nd Gilberto will, personally i think Gilberto will stay 1 more season and Hleb…duno about Hleb.
As for Ramsey i doubt he’ll be a starter next season, i feel its much more likely we’ll see Denilson, Diaby is Song take up the DM role or even Gilberto back there.
or song**
This is the reason why i hate them manutd supporters so much. But not all though, just those typical arrogant ones demonstrated in that article. Funny how none of them mentioned how embarrassing it was that they announced it on the official website but choose to go down the route of “Ramsey who” to make themselves feel better.
And good on ya Stephen.
Your a bunch of depressing individuals!!! Yes so we missed out on Ramsey….we’re entitled to make comments on him after he said he was a Man United supporter.
But if he wants to win no trophies and play nice football then i’m sure hes made the right move.
If he had sense, spend a year or 2 playing FACup and League Cup football, be part of a successful team and join WINNERS then he would have joined Man U.
After all eveyone said Anderson and Nani would be Ramsey type players and look what impact that had.
If you think you’re good enough, you’ll get into either team. And play with great players, not good upcoming ones!!
arsenal are not going to buy huntelaar he hasn’t been proven kuyt has a good record in holland so does alfonso alves , huntelaar only got 1 game at the euros he’s no better than what we have
I hope they lose Ronaldo. It’ll feck ’em up royally for next season although if he stays I’d love us to win the league over them by like a single point just to wipe that smug look of his lady boy face! I hate ManYoo with a passion!
Sean, cheers buddy. I’ve liked the Reds since the days of Grobbelaar. Hope you guys stuff United this season – you’re due a win over them.
I’d take Huntelaar over Ade-byebye who can piss off as far as I am concerned. 120k a week?! For what? One good season? If Ade had a better first touch then I’d be more eager to keep him but if we can get 30m for him then lets cash in!
United fans are always showing their feeling of inferiority no matter how many big players they sign or how many trophies they have…they are still always looking at us.
DI have missed a meeting?
Isnt it a normal part of football that players leave and players arrive at clubs?
How is Hleb leaving for a profit a bad thing? It would only be a bad thing if a replacement wasn’t signed. With Gilberto & Jens, well, thats natural that older players will wanna leave as they aren’t promised regular 1st team football.
So that leaves Flamini, who had 1 good season and let his deal run out. Unfortunate, but it happens. No one could have foreseen how good a season he’d have.
Now, Ronaldo leaving OT???
Any Arsenal departures are nothing compared to how that will fuck United up. Seriously.
I THINK THERE RIGHT I’D RATHER HAVE HUNTELAAR RATHER THEN RAMSEY THIS JUST HIGHLIGHTS THE POINT .THIS IS excatly why arsenal are not winning things to many young players rather then the made article.
huntelaar is not the made article he scores a few goals in holland and everyone thinks he’s great i’d rather see eduardo and van persie
up front or maybe vela
hmm pretpretty weak article in my opinion. yes united are our main title rivals but who cares what united fan say on a forum? they should be laughing anyway – they won the double and we’ve replaced flamini with an unproven 17 year old as well as potentially losing hleb and ade.
as it stands ramsey wont make a difference to uniteds squad for at least another 3 odd years anyway. if he makes a difference t our squad then it just goes to show how thin we are.
weak article which doesnt exactly have much bearing on man united as a club. would you class miles palmer as the voice of the arsenal fans?
Lol I’ll laugh if we get Huntelaar too
Huntelaar is no where near the finished article anyway. He is quite old now in terms of being a “youngster” and I would have imagined some european team by now to take a punt but they have not. Regardless of what United fans may think about Arsenal, once Ronaldo goes they lose a 40 goal winger which is like us losing Henry at his prime…There is no one replacement for him. Gilberto was top draw on and off the pitch and deserves a good send off from the Arsenal as he never moaned. So Mr Hleb take note and Adebayour because you boys have no World Cup winner medal unlike Gilberto.
ha ha! and now we have a few bitter Mancs on here, trying to have a dig! You pathetic Munich cunts!
We beat you, fair & square to a promising young player! Why can’t you just take it on the chin, like the big club, you proclaim to be?
Then again, see how they act when a bigger club than them (Real) coming knocking for their players?
The song “ALL YOU DO IS FUCKING MOAN…” springs to mind, with these classless Munich cunts! ha ha! They do make me laugh!
FUCK ME! WHO DISS FUCKIN JIMBO DICK?
BORING TOOL
Typical arrogant United, then again we should be used to it, and you know for a fact that if they had of gotten Ramsey then they would be saying that he’s the best young player in the world ever!
I also like the way that they’re arrogantly assuming that Huntelaar is going to them just because he mentioned United (wasn’t Ramsey a life long United fan??)
RVP is one of Huntelaar’s best friends and Dennis Bergkamp is one of his idols, does that mean he’s coming to us? :->
Only one thing is certain, if United pursue Huntelaar in the same shoddy arrogant way that they did Aaron then they have no chance!
at the end of the day blogs are blogs and are a tool which are used for ranting. Going by mot of the replies to this article arrogance isn’t in the sole possession of United fans. The rivalry between the big teams increase with each passing day and most of the heat is generated by the rumour mongering, profit seeking tabloids. Football fans could do a lot worse than following the advice of a famous quote “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see”. Good luck in the new season.
goonerguy has a bit of brown on the end of his nose
JS, values and class shouldn’t be bragged about.
Stick to what you’re so good at and rise above…
Well i would rather beat them in winning champions league final (like they did to the blue scum) than in signing a player but thats just me by the looks of the other comments
