Salamanca To Receive Three Loanees From Arsenal

UD Salamanca managing director Miguel Torrecilla has quashed media speculation that Real Sociedad will be signing Arsenal wing-back Pedro Botelho, and claims the club are expecting two other players from the Gunners this summer.

Reports emerged yesterday that Pedro had been offered to Sociedad along with Dutchman Nacer Barazite, but as we told you earlier in the week, the Brazilian has an agreement to play for UDS next term. Torrecilla told the local media at their excitement of landing the 18 year old for the coming season, and that they expect big things of him.

“We are convinced that Pedro Botelho will be very important, and will give some great performances next year.

“When we decided to sell Dani Lopez, it’s because we are OK with Arsenal for Pedro.” “We have big hopes for him”

Pedro will return to Salamanca on July 21st after spending two weeks training with Arsenal. However, before the player even touches down in Spain, he will be joined by two other loanees from the Gunners. Torrecilla will be flying to London on the 17th for his annual meeting with with the club, and at that meeting will be informed of two players that will accompany Botelho at the Union next season.

Whilst there is no indication of who the players might be, the local newspaper who gave the interview, revealed that one will be a non E.U player, and will be signed by the club during the next week. The other will be a current Reserves team regular, believed to be Nacer Barazite.

Well, like i said Salamanca is a better choice for both cuz both are far more likely to get games there. I think it’ll do Barazite no harm atall and he’ll probably come on along way technically, as for Pedro, the same although he has little choice…

Very interesting and the third player, cnt wait to find out who that’ll be…

I wouldnt know about the other 2 players what I am hoping for is that Barazite remains with arsenal next season coz I think he is super-talented and going to Spain wont do him any good he can challenge for the first team now and what message does this send ou anyway when the best player in the reserves is loaned out?

the 3rd player won’t be falcao or diogo. both too good to play 2nd division football. im sure the 3rd player is someone who is very young, maybe 17 or 18 years old and nobody heard of him before.

If another player joins from our reserves it will be a Donkey no hoper like Rui Fonte,Who will be more suited to playing lower league spainish football and will no longer block the playing time for some of our promising 16-18 year olds at Underhill.

Falcao would not join and then be loaned out, he would be for the first team, it would have to be a special permit although he does play for Colombia just not sure he’s got many caps

I don’t rate Fonte, I have seen quite a lot of him, too flashy and not prolific enough, I don’t think he’ll last long with us, very lightweight as well..

I’d prefer Barazite to stay. As i think he’s the closest reserve team player to the first team. I would like to see one of the English lads go on loan to Spain, maybe Lansbury Randall or Gibbs. I doubt it would happen though.

Falco reminds me of Javier Saviola. i dont see him coming in really, too expensive for somebody who is untried at a serious level.

Wenger wouldn’t buy falcao except he is very sure he could get permit as an exceptional player. Falcao wouldn’t be loaned to any club, if he is coming, it would be straight to the first team. 8 to 10 million is much to purchase a loanee

    Barazite should stay…

If Adebayor leaves (which I still think he won’t) which striker would you prefer to be signeg?!!

    1. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
    2. Roque Santa Cruz
    3. Falcao

I quite like having pace up top so I maybe would go for Falcao, he would have time to settle as we have Bendtner,Vela,Walcott,RVP,Eduardo..

Shouldn’t Barazite be playing in the highest tiers of European football, not Segunda Liga?

“Shouldn’t Barazite be playing in the highest tiers of European football, not Segunda Liga?”

He has next to no first team football experiance at any level, no or next to no top European league club would touch him. The Seguinda Liga is one of the best second divisions in Europe, perhaps second to none in terms of quality (although the Championship and Serie B r probably on the same level). But its a very technical value based league aswell, which is why its probably better for him to go there rather than the physical Championship or the very tactical and quite physical Serie B.

I’ve been stuck living in America temporarily, but one of the upsides is that we just about every game from every league on the planet — including the Prem.

Anyhow I’ve seen River play several times at Falcao looks like he can play at any level. Admittedly the defenders aren’t the skill he’d see in England, but they ARE rough — on the violent side, actually.

Falcao is amazing in one way — it’s almost impossible to tell watching him play if he has a favorite foot. None of it seems to matter. He’s one of those guys who glides around the pitch at what appears to be top speed but then finds another gear for bursts into the box, meeting crosses and such.

Like everyone else in Argentina, he’s also expected to track back and chop someone down, if necessary, so he wouldn’t be a shrinking violent like, say, Reyes. Not big but gives the impressive that he’d be a tough lad in an alley. And he can damn sure find the net. He hit a volley in a game I saw that would have decapitated the keeper if he’d gotten in the way. I was VERY impressed, especially when I heard how young he was.

I gather that Colombia just hasn’t been strong for the past decade or so, which means everyone in Europe misses out on their stars in the World Cup, etc. But I’d be shocked if Falcao doesn’t make an impression worldwide and I’m praying the rumours are true that we’ve got the inside track. (Whenever United and Real are around, I’m nervous!)

Doubt the “special permit” would be a problem. Falcao is just a kid but he has seven caps for Colombia in the past year, so he’s a regular in international football.

For what it’s worth, River Plate would be at home in the Prem — not a contender but not relegation fodder, either. Only thing lacking is depth.

Hold your breath on this one, everybody.
