Woo-hoo! Great news for Lansbury. I am pretty excited about this squad. Lets just hope the new signings and the players promoted from the Reserves and Academy will be able to gel with our existing First Teamers.

Barazite looks good but is sometimes hard to distinguish whether these players can take the step up to the next level. Do u think Wilshere is able to next season and how mobile is Barazite? Thanks.

I would like to see some of the fringe reserves players get a good run out…

    Likely starting 11 4-4-2
    GK Almunia
    RB Sagna
    LB Traore
    CB J Hoyte
    CB Nordtveit
    RM Randall
    LM Wilshire
    CM Ramsey
    CM Denilson
    FW Walcott
    FW Bendtner

    Mannone

    Hoyte, Hoyte, Nordveit, Traore

    Simpson, Lansbury, Randell, Wilshere

    Barazite, Fonte

I think he’ll be saving Vela, Denilson, Ramsey etc for opponents that will be less excited by Arsenal’s presence. I think Dunne is wank but good luck to the kid. Thomas I believe is better than him already though.

    Hey J,
Do you think Nacer could be loaned to a championship or Premier league team this season? Or do you think he will be a carling cup/ first team bench player? i think he is going to be amazing once he gets the chance. by the way, great site.

I think Jay Simpson will get quite a lot of action in pre-season, it look’s like its make or break time for him. Wenger and Co obviousally haven’t made up their mind about him yet, or he wouldn’t be in the squad. I hope he impresses and i hope we keep him.

    Second half

I’m shocked that our 2nd best Central defender is Justin Hoyte. Also I hope Xabi Alonso signs. Would be a wonderful day if this happens.
P.S. He is a DM not a Attacking CM.

Exactly Fran, I think I would prefer Barry, bit more steely determination about him.
Barry reminds me of Manu Petit. Barry also lethal at dead balls and freekicks

Alonso can definitely tackle. When Barry has played DM for England (Croatia and Russia) we let in 4 goals. Albeit we had lescott but we looked vulnerable. Alsonso is also a dead ball specialist, better passer. If only there were stats to see who covered more and tackled better but Alonso played less matches last season.

I would rather have Barry too, he can also provide the killer pass like Alonso but is just that bit better when heading back towards goal but lets face it we all know that we wont get either of them!
We will get some random bloke that is actually amazin!

It’ll be great to see Ramsey. Hopefully he’ll get a good run in pre season and stake a claim for the first team in regards to wether he’s get a spot on the bench. I hear there’ll be 7 spots on the bench for the coming season. Also J now that the legend that is Gilberto is set to leave is it likely Wenger will bring in a new Defensive Midfielder or will he stick with what he’s got and bring in a Defender? Cause Toure, Song and Djourou can play further up the pitch so maybe A Zapata could play at the back with Gallas.

    Just a thought.

Who in their right mind wants an overated player Barry [bcuz he’s english] in our team? Idiots. As well pointed out by ahassan06, Barry could not contain the movement and precise intricate football of Modric and he doesnt even play DM for Villa, R Coker does. After analysis his strengths [Balance of being left footed, Penalties, Set Pieces, average passing, decent tackling and below par vision], his ceiling value should be 8m @ best, for wenger to play 18m for a 27 yr old he would have to be exceptional but Barry does not fall into this category. Get real lunnies

If u guys live in the UK then i suggest u get the Setanta package for an extra £9.99 a month. The Barnet game is LIVE on the Arsenal channel (free with Setanta package) on Saturday. Sean….if ur right about Rodgers being Sagna’s understudy then thats beautiful news. The coaches should spend a little extra time with developing his technical ability and then we would have an excellent right back on our hands.
