After opening their campaign with a 3-1 win over Everton last Saturday, Steve Bould’s Under 18’s travel to the midlands tomorrow in search of a second successive win against an in form Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Gunners cruised past a competitive Everton side on the opening day, with a double from Luke Freeman and an own goal seeing off the Merseysiders. A difficult fixture is in prospect against Wolves, who also have a 100% record following a 2-1 win over MK Dons.
Bould will be missing his leading marksman Luke Freeman, along with Oliver Nicholas, Sam Byles, Emmanuel Frimpong, Benik Afobe and Jason Banton who are away with the Under 16’s in France. Francis Coquelin and Gilles Sunu returned from a 3 day training camp at Clairefontaine this morning, and both are in contention to feature.
Anton Blackwood is the only injured party, but Conor Henderson returns from International duty and should start. Jonas Rasmussen is 50:50 after missing out last week, but with only a small pool of players available, he should be ready to feature.
Predicted Starting XI
Szczesny
Eastmond – Bartley – Ayling – Cruise
Rasmussen – Henderons – Thomas (c) – Watt
Sunu – Murphy
Wolves should be a firm test for the Under 18’s, but even with several key players missing you would expect the young Gunners to have more than enough to power beyond the Wanderers.
Match Prediction – Arsenal 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
The game is a 11am kick off in the midlands, with a full report available shortly after full time. Should you not make the fixture – Arsenal TV will broadcast highlights the following Wednesday.

There are some good players in there. I would like to see murphy and Thomas do well, I think they has got quality. Nor seen Rasmussen play, but I have heard hes got potential, any one seen him?
good article J like always keep up the good work
i think it should be a comfortable win for the team i predicted 3:0
can I apologise for the typo’s
Very much agree we should have enough to get past these boys. Be a test, but also a chance for some of these boys to stake a claim
I reckon that Sanchez Watt deserves to be involved in our Carling Cup Campain this season IMO
is sanchez watt good enough to make it at arsenal?
How come Coquelin has not been starting much for our youth nor Reserve sides??
JS, will you make the match report of the Nice game that’s taking part right now, tonight or tomorrow?
Ha, I came to ask J’s opinion of Sanchez Watt as well. His profile seems hazy past the ‘promosing’ angle. Bored the other day I checked out a bunch of highlights on atvo and he stood out but I’d like to know what J, or someone more knowledgable than myself on the u18s thinks.
With a name like that, I really want him to become a star. Obviously it’d be good for us to have another good academy kid but having one named ‘Sanchez Watt’ makes it even better.
His real name is Herschel.
He is a very tidy player, and when he was 11 he was regarded as the best player in the country for his age, but he has not quite lived up to that potential.
He needs to get stronger and work on his final ball a little, but his pace, power, engery and a deadly left foot are all fantastic.
He has a solid base, just building onit now.
Jay Simpson has been offered to crystal palace by his agency , and thats why neil warnock was at the worthing game
Loan or permanent?
Coquelin imo will go straight to the Reserves and train with the first team
Jigga: show me your site…
Cheers for the info on Watt J, if that is your real name.
The kids v. Sheff Utd in the Carling Cup. Should give Randall, Gibbs, Wilshere, Simpson, Vela, maybe G Hoyte, maybe Mannone, Lansbury all in the team. Should be good.
