Barazite Ready To Prove Himself After Austria Rejection

Nacer Barazite is determined to get all he can from his loan spell at Championship outfit Derby County, and force his way into Arsène Wenger’s plans next season.

Barazite, 18, is close friends with another Arsenal striker – Jay Simpson – and the Dutchman is desperate to follow the route which saw Jay win awards at League One side Millwall, and more importantly – come back to London a better player.

“I take a lot from Jay Simpson in the fact that he went on loan, became more mature and is now getting his chances,”

“I feel that I can achieve that sort of thing. A loan would only make me a better player, like Jay has been since he came back. Hopefully I can make those steps as well.”

Nacer trained with his new team mates this morning, and is in contention for a start at home to Southampton this Saturday. First-team football is something important for any footballer, the Barazite admits he was upset after being left out of select youngsters who travelled to Austria with the first team.

“I was really disappointed not to make it on the flight to the training camp [in Austria], When I saw the list and I wasn’t on it, it was upsetting. But that’s football.

Many other characters could have been left annoyed and angry after the effort they put in only not to be granted the chance to show himself – but not Naz.

“Since then I have put so much effort into training and the games, so that I can prove to the boss that I can be a success here. Hopefully he will see that I am trying to improve everything in my game, that I can play football his way and work hard for the team with or without the ball.

With such a fantastic attitude combined with his natural talents, the fleet-footed youngster is sure to make a solid impression at Derby, then, it’s up to the manager.

Good on Nacer, I was also surprised he was left out. Though I think it will be a great experience and he’ll return even better.
“Many other characters” Many other players ?

Good luck to him, What are his chances of getting a game at Derby JS? If he gets a chance like Lupoli did, it will all be worthwhile…

He played in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday against Leicester and setup 2 goals, so hopefully he’s in contention to start this weekend.

he’s a top potential star no doubt but some of these youngsters feel they can break in to the team early just because they are young and then if they don’t they get impatient. (I’m not necessarily talking about Barazite but u can guess who).

There is no question about this guy’s ability. I’m sure he will benefit a lot from his loan spell. It is a different for different positions as competition for places are different at Arsenal. Getting a chance as a striker at Arsenal will require phenomenal hard work and Nacer has his work well cut out. For a creative mid it is obviously different. Nacer is doing well within the Wenger philosophy and he will make it here. I’m 100% certain he will. I hope Wenger includes him in the Carling Cup team later on in the season

I think that Wenger knows better than anybody how to motivate each individual. For some, like Walcott, he needs to praise them regularly so they don´t lose the faith in them. For others, he says that they have a lot to work on and are nowhere near a complete product, a la Adebayor. Some people get very motivated by praise, others get cocky. Wenger knows what works on each player, and that is probably the reason Barazite was left out. I think there is no doubt he is better than the likes of Randall. However, Wenger probably thought that Barazite might feel like he didn´t need to work hard after that. So he was left out and now he is fired up to work even harder. Other, Bentley for example, would probably had gotten mad at Wenger and wanted to leave the club.

But good luck to Nacer and hopefully he can do the same as Bendtner did 2 seasons ago. He is the same age as Nick was when he went to the Brum so I expect impact from him. I am certain that he will hold down a regular place in the team and it wouldn´t surprise me if he scored more than 10 goals this season, that would be fantastic.

TopGunPires: Do you know what position he was playing?

I think it’s a very good move for nacer and a great chance for him to really stake a claim for a place, not only as a fringe player, but as a player who can be relied on to compete in the bigger games next season.

It’s interesting that he is shown as a midfielder on the official website but he can also play as a second striker. I think if he can develop as a creative goal-scoring wide midfielder he would have more chance of making it at Arsenal as there would probably be more opportunities there.

He sounds very aware of where he needs to work harder on his all round team game, which isn’t a bad thing. I wish him all the best.

I’m not sure what position he played. I know an Argentinian striket got a hat trick and Nacer setup 2 of them so i guess he could have been the 2nd striker or from the flank.

I love Barazite. Great player and great focus and desire. I recon he’ll go away, do himself prowd, come back an improved and more mature player like Simpson did and if Barazite improves to the same extent Simpson obviously has he’ll be ommense.

    Btw… Silvertre? Wtf Wenger.

I think the loan spell will do the trick for nacer. Gives him a chance to break into the first team at a championship level squad, and fight for that position. If he really takes off like he did for our reserves last year, the hounds will howl loudly to see him get a real shot at the first team sooner than later.
