Confirmed – Barazite Joins Derby On Month Long Loan

As we exclusively told you yesterday, Dutch striker Nacer Barazite has sealed his switch to Championship outfit Derby County on a month long loan.

The deal includes an option to extend the period until the end of the season, although there is no agreement which would allow the Rams to sign Nacer permanently. The month will give the Dutch Under 19 International the opportunity to gain vital experience, but should he fail to settle, his stay will not be extended.

Paul Jewell appeared excited about not only snapping up the starlet, but a future link up with Arsenal.

“Nacer is young but has played in their first-team and he will come here to join up with our first-team squad, I am quite keen to get a link-up with some of the top teams and I spoke to Arsene Wenger over the summer about a few players.

“Nacer is going to be a good player and if he does well here then hopefully we can keep him for longer than the month.

“He is an exciting prospect, a very good footballer, and he will be a good addition to our squad.”

Barazite’s chances will be bolstered with news that another Rams striker – Liam Dickinson was sent on loan yesterday, meaning less competition for the 18-year-old. Naz should make his debut at home to Southampton this Saturday.

Derby Fans can read more about your latest signing in his newly updated Player Profile.

Young Guns will be keeping you updated on all the fortunes of Arsenal’s young starlets whilst on loan throughout the season.

A month seems a very short period of time.

Its a case of if you cannot play him in a month of football, why do you want him on loan. There have been two many cases of our quality players going on 6-12 month loan spells and ending up being a squad player and not playing

I think that if it’s a month deal that he will get a lot of chances straight away, it’s in Derby’s best interest to keep hold of such an exciting prospect so expect to see him playing a lot next month. I hope they’ll play some positive and attacking football otherwise I can’t see them taking more of our youngsters. I like Reading and Steve Coppel’s vision on football better.

Frichie is right, Barazite is a top talent, if he is not playing by the time the month is up, which is at least four games, then he can come and play in our Carling Cup team.

Great work JS. Barazite will light up that division. He’s a better player then Frazer Campbell for sure.

On arsenal.com Barazite is referred to as a midfielder in the article but in the player profiles’ he is a forward, meaning he is going to play on the wings for derby probably.

Ya I can see Barazite as an attacking winger for Derby.
He’s there untill the new year isn’t he.
So our reserves have taken a battering thus far so our team as of now will look something like
    ____________Vito
    Steer___Hoyte__Rodgers___Ogogo
    Lansbury___Randall__Dunne___Merida
    __________Fonte___Simpson

Most likely we havent finished loaning out our reserves, possible moves for Rodgers,Hoyte,Merida and Simpson

This will be another season off, the under 18’s are the reserves , because if Dunne , Rodgers ,Steer , Ogogo Dont go on loan they will be relesed and they need to prove themselves ….G.Hoyte , Simpson , Randall , Merida , Lansbury , All those going on loan

Good move – might be extended. And it’ll free up a bit of space for Murphy.

rockypires, Simpson, Merida and Randall probably wouldn’t play in the reserves too much because it would be a step back for them. I imagine Coquelin would be a regular for the reserves but him alongside Dunne wouldn’t be a very creative partnership.

It’d be interesting to see who gets promoted to the reserves from the U-18’s or if new players are brought in.

I hope Dunne is not gonna play for the reserves as he would be a waste of space there, rather give the younger ones a chance

If Silvestre news is true, then Gibbs will definately be aheading to Reading because Traore has been pencilled in LM not LB is season.
