As we exclusively told you yesterday, Dutch striker Nacer Barazite has sealed his switch to Championship outfit Derby County on a month long loan.
The deal includes an option to extend the period until the end of the season, although there is no agreement which would allow the Rams to sign Nacer permanently. The month will give the Dutch Under 19 International the opportunity to gain vital experience, but should he fail to settle, his stay will not be extended.
Paul Jewell appeared excited about not only snapping up the starlet, but a future link up with Arsenal.
“Nacer is young but has played in their first-team and he will come here to join up with our first-team squad, I am quite keen to get a link-up with some of the top teams and I spoke to Arsene Wenger over the summer about a few players.
“Nacer is going to be a good player and if he does well here then hopefully we can keep him for longer than the month.
“He is an exciting prospect, a very good footballer, and he will be a good addition to our squad.”
Barazite’s chances will be bolstered with news that another Rams striker – Liam Dickinson was sent on loan yesterday, meaning less competition for the 18-year-old. Naz should make his debut at home to Southampton this Saturday.

gd work JS. it will be gd to see how he does in the championship, i think he’ll do really good
good work JS !
A month seems a very short period of time.
Its a case of if you cannot play him in a month of football, why do you want him on loan. There have been two many cases of our quality players going on 6-12 month loan spells and ending up being a squad player and not playing
I think that if it’s a month deal that he will get a lot of chances straight away, it’s in Derby’s best interest to keep hold of such an exciting prospect so expect to see him playing a lot next month. I hope they’ll play some positive and attacking football otherwise I can’t see them taking more of our youngsters. I like Reading and Steve Coppel’s vision on football better.
if=because!
Frichie is right, Barazite is a top talent, if he is not playing by the time the month is up, which is at least four games, then he can come and play in our Carling Cup team.
Arsenal can today confirm that midfielder Nacer Barazite has joined Derby County FC on loan until December 31, 2008
Great work JS. Barazite will light up that division. He’s a better player then Frazer Campbell for sure.
any new about fran merida?
also arsenalcom says barazite is there until the new year?
On arsenal.com Barazite is referred to as a midfielder in the article but in the player profiles’ he is a forward, meaning he is going to play on the wings for derby probably.
Ya I can see Barazite as an attacking winger for Derby.
He’s there untill the new year isn’t he.
So our reserves have taken a battering thus far so our team as of now will look something like
____________Vito
Steer___Hoyte__Rodgers___Ogogo
Lansbury___Randall__Dunne___Merida
__________Fonte___Simpson
Most likely we havent finished loaning out our reserves, possible moves for Rodgers,Hoyte,Merida and Simpson

Joined untill December 31, 2008
Derby says a month, with a clause that will leave him for the rest of the season, arsenal says a 4 months? what the hell?
Nacer Barazite joins The Rams on loan until December 31, 2008….
J.S Who else do you think will go out on loan. Are there any youth that will come up to the reserves?
Why a month?
This will be another season off, the under 18’s are the reserves , because if Dunne , Rodgers ,Steer , Ogogo Dont go on loan they will be relesed and they need to prove themselves ….G.Hoyte , Simpson , Randall , Merida , Lansbury , All those going on loan
only a month :(
by the way J do you have to pay to use certain pictures?
we dont need him going to rubbish like derby who cant win a game all season. we need him going on loan to quality sides like sheff utd, charlton or QPR
Good move – might be extended. And it’ll free up a bit of space for Murphy.
QPR. The same side that just got hammered at the weekend?
whats about kieran gibbs? is he now in reading
rockypires, Simpson, Merida and Randall probably wouldn’t play in the reserves too much because it would be a step back for them. I imagine Coquelin would be a regular for the reserves but him alongside Dunne wouldn’t be a very creative partnership.
It’d be interesting to see who gets promoted to the reserves from the U-18’s or if new players are brought in.
Good stuff JS, thanks!
we are getting silvestre how shit is that!!!!!!nooooooooooooooooo
I hope Dunne is not gonna play for the reserves as he would be a waste of space there, rather give the younger ones a chance
Stone i hope your not the same Stone who comments on 4sportssake.com
Nope, I have never even heard of that site. I also saw that some guy called Stone commented on Le-Grove or some site like that the other day, not me either.
If Silvestre news is true, then Gibbs will definately be aheading to Reading because Traore has been pencilled in LM not LB is season.
