Arsenal winger Jonas Hebo Rasmussen has signed a three year professional contract according to reports in his home land.
Jonas – who turned 17 last week – joined the Gunners from AJ Auxerre last summer following a 10 day trial and after eight appearances for Steve Bould’s Under 18’s, the club have decided to step up his development by making him a full time player.
Rasmussen is tall and technical winger who can also play in centre midfield or as a striker, and was scouted playing for Denmark’s Youth teams before being invited to the Atalanta Cup last summer. He created a goal against Inter Milan as Arsenal beat the Italian Champions, and against Juventus he scored a penalty to secure his transfer to North London.
After marking his Under 16 debut with a goal against Fulham, he completed the season in around Steve Bould’s Group winning Under 18 side, featuring in a handful of fixtures.
His big break came against American link club Colorado Rapids as he lined up alongside fellow countryman Nicklas Bendtner in the 2-1 victory. Nicklas later revealed he had been offering Jonas some advice to help him settle in.
The coming campaign promises to be his most productive yet as he looks to establish himself in the Under 18’s and potentially Neil Banfield’s Reserves.

Good Luck Lad.
Who scouted this guy? Is he worth a pro contract? Out of the reserves / youths players I’ve not heard any bad things about him but nothing praiseworthy either..
it reminds me with Pires,, lol
can u compare him with another player ?? bcause i dont really know about him, AT ALL !!
cheers..
I have never seen this kid play before and i have heard mix reports about him
Neil Banfield’s Brother, well we paid some compensation for him so yes he is worth is.
You wont have heared much about him because he hasnt featured alot.
I never trust generic descriptions of players! You could also describe Barazite as a tall and technical winger etc.!! Or me! (except I’m not all that tall and my technique is cat..)
TopiQue – Very difficult one, but all fast, technical wingers are usually small.
I would say he is very much like Jonas Guiterrez who just joined Newcastle.
Do you know the length of the contrcts Lansbury and co signed?
two – three years, although after a season or so the club usually extend them or they get released.
The likes of Merida and Dunne were coming into their final years this season, Fran signed a new four year deal but Dunne is yet to get anything.
Its ture….we havent really heard much about this lad..but neither did we know anything about PV4..Flamini..Cesc..Merida…Lauren..Toure etc
I am 100% confident Wenger knows whats up with this kid.
Auxerre??? I thought he came from Hvidovre IF.
3 Year Deal , Hes not even proven at reserves wtf
It’s always a bonus to be tall but to be honest a club like Arsenal would like to develop a player into top four material rather than premiership quality so the margin of error is very small. Good luck to him.
P.S. What do u think of lansbury and what has he got going for him ahead of coquelin/merida etc. I hope he makes it.
Just off topic but I don’t recognise some of the players in the ‘player profiles’ section before I click so do you think maybe u can somehow fit names? Maybe when u put your mouse over the picture. Anyway good work.
Breaking News: Thomas in surprise 25 man Arsenal squad for Amsterdam tourny. He actually seems o.k.
The likes of Jay Simpson, Mark Randall and Henri Lansbury have also made an impression on the boss after playing key roles in the club’s recent tour of Austria. And Wenger believes the future is looking bright at the Emirates.
“There are some youngsters doing very well for us,” Wenger told the official Emirates Cup programme.
“You’ve seen Jack Wilshere who is catching the eye at the moment. He is surprisingly mature for his age, you forget how old he is when you see him play.
“There is also Jay Simpson, Mark Randall, Gavin Hoyte and Henri Lansbury who were with us out in Austria. All five of them are good players though, which is why I took them to Austria. All those players will make a career, and hopefully at Arsenal.”
Bent-ner Who else is going are Jay Simpson, Mark Randall, Gavin Hoyte and Henri Lansbury on the list to
Jay thomas is in the squad
but who else tho just thomas
Bent-ner – Yep we are working on that mate.
Yeah i informed some people about this news this afternoon, and from what i was told its just Jay Thomas that went. Anyway its only a rumour at the moment.
who do uou lot think are better mark randall or henri lansbury?
randome but yeah, please answer.;)
Like them both, Lansbury needs o get his fitness back first.
Randall is top quality, and will be used alot in the Carling Cup this season.
thanks man. blessssss……..:o
Randall is better than lansbury i think
Wenger sees thomas as a tall comanding CB , and i think if he gets a good run out could seem him overlap nordveit and g.hoyte what you think
Alumina Fabianski Djorou Senderos Gallas Clichy Sagna J.Hoyte Traore Walcott Wilshere Fabregas Nasri Van Perise Adebayor Vela Bendenter Ramsey Denilson Eboue Bischoff Gibbs Thomas Lansbury Randall
Thats what i think
They must be rapt with Jonas. Signing him long term so soon after his 17th birthday. Well done to Jay Thomas too. He was impressive again. There is a spot there he can compete for being a versatile CB/DCM. Particularly with Song away.
wat’s up with coquelin?is he still injured?
Is gavin hoyte going
Diaby is injured again.
J do you know if Nasri is in the squad for the Amsterdam tournament?
Hay j new to da site its awesome.
Erm could u tell us how badly injured diaby, nasri coquelin and biscoff (sp) are. Will any of them be in amsterdam tourne.
Good news for Rasmussen. Jay, can you confirm whether we actually got that kid Özyakup for Alkmaar??
Coquelin and Nasri are both injured but we should see Cesc tonight. THANK THE LORD!
You guys have got that all wrong – I know Jonas from Denmark, we played at the same team Hvidovre IF, and he has never played for Auxerre, sooooooo…. Sorry lads, but he’s never been to Auxerre, he just had their jersey cuz’ he was a fan of them because another Dane plays there Kahlenberg
