Forest Stall Over Arsenal Trio + Frimpong Not Everton's

Arsenal trio James Dunne, Abu Ogogo and Paul Rodgers are now set to return to North London, after Nottingham Forest stalled over offering them contracts to remain with the Championship outfit.

Dunne, Rodgers and Ogogo and have all featured in two Reserve games for Forest, yet as their second string took on Walsall yesterday evening, the young Gunners were not included, just 24 hours after a decision on the long term future of the boys was due.

Neil Banfield already confirmed last week that it’s not the end of the road for them, but with the Under 18’s bang on form, and the second string getting back to winning ways against Stoke City, it seems unlikely they will be able to push themselves back into contention.

The prospects will join Rene Steer in being rebuffed by lower League teams – the left back failed a similar spell at Cheltenham Town in September. Liam Brady is sure to spend the rest of the week on the phone to other clubs, as Arsenal continue the trend of helping unwanted youngsters to get fresh employment.

In other news, some panic was caused in the comment sections this afternoon following a message on Emmanuel Frimpong’s Facebook profile, which stated he had signed for Everton. Despite the message, the player has not joined David Moyes’ side, with Emmanuel falling victim to a hacker on his page.

How good is Frimpong compared to other centeral midfielders like Coquelin, Lansbury Randall etc. Has he got a chnace or is there to many players in his way?

He has a very good chance yes, he is in a similar mould to Lassana Diarra, but he is a little more aggresive. He certainly has a chance, and at 16 the fact he was in the Carling Cup team shows how highly rated he is.

I get the impression that Wenger rates Frimpong very highly.

yeah he rated highly. He can do big things. Ogazykup looks also to be a good player in the making. What do u guys think about Ayling? He can step up know Ogogo may leave. Interesting player.

I’ll feel sorry for the shirt printers at the Armoury if Ogazykup ever makes the first team.

Just taken off, ineffective game and will get the blame for the Belarus goal when in fact, his man was on the edge of the box and Brown ducked under the ball, wasn’t Theo’s fault,

Arsenal called Forest to offer the players, they are in the final months of their contracts. There is certainly no fee involved.

Could it have been a problem with the amount of wages the players wanted could have been more than what forest where looking to pay? It just seems hard to beleive that forest don’t think they are good enough for a team who are likely to be league 1 next season.

I’m led to believe (both by the Forest management, and other sources) that the deal was originally for the 3 youngsters to come up for 2 games, and for both parties to get used to each other.

There should be no problems in the wage demands, as I believe that Rodgers and Dunne will be the ones coming. Expect to see movement in the January transfer window.

There would be a fee involved for the players, the solidarity mechanism fee would apply to all of them cos of their ages, and I reckon it would be expensive enough for them. Btw the site is class J

…..for your information we wont be in league 1 next year, we have the players to keep us up already, just suffering injury problems at the moment. if we dont take them its because their not good enough, do you homework before making stupid comments!

Surely ogogo etc are better than the youngsters already at forest…
….we have some quality young players already thanks, you lot dont snap them ‘all’ up when their 10 or 11!!

Why the January window when Aresenal can release them and they could sign now? The deal was for 2 games and the deal id still being discussed. As for being better than Forest youngsters, only talk about what you know, check out McGugan,Byrne,Reid,Maloney,Heath etc etc. They re no better but perhaps better than we have. As for league 1 next year, behave. We have had half our squad injured, now they are back so the real season starts.

It was a surely as in a question. And another question do you think these youngsters you listed from forest would get in arsenals carling cup squad like ogogo did.

    Randall,
McGugan could walk into the arsenal carling squad no problem! the others may need a bit more time but they are all young and learning and i believe will all become decent players!
