In this update you can read about the following players in the following games.

Reports:

Nacer Barazite – Derby 1-1 Nottingham Forest (45 Minutes)
Armand Traoré – Portsmouth 1-2 Wigan (45 Minutes)
Pedro Botelho – UD Salamanca 0-2 Celta Vigo (To Follow)
Kerrea Gilbert – Leicester 2-1 Bristol City (Injured)

Nacer Barazite – Derby County 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Having passed a fitness test on Friday afternoon, winger Nacer Barazite returned to the Derby County squad for the crunch clash with local rivals Nottingham Forest.

The 18-year-old had to watch on from the bench as a competitive first half brought chances for both teams. Rob Hulse and Nathan Ellington both had half chances, until Hulse was taken off with an injury half way through the first period. His replacement, Tito Villa, would play an amazing part in the outcome.

During half time Barazite was introduced in place of Gary Teale, but within minutes of Nacer’s arrival, County were behind. Lewis McGugan’s lashed shot hit Villa in front of goal, and found it’s way past Bywater to send the Forest fans wild.

After a brilliant cross was nearly turned in by Jordan Stewart, eventually Nacer’s influence would be telling. Stewart’s deep free kick was flicked on by Barazite into the path of Villa, the highly rated forward glanced home to set up an exciting finale.

But referee Stuart Atwell would then continue his madness in the closing stages. The Dutchman’s free kick was turned home again by Villa, but for some bizarre reason the goal was not given. Atwell pointed to the spot, and in a bid to raise his confidence, Barazite was handed responsibility to win the game.

His powerful shot was well saved to his right by Lee Camp, the former Derby stopper had undone his old employers leaving Nacer shell-shocked. He nearly made up for it after another cross from the Arsenal winger ended up in the net, but Atwell failed to give it once more.

A truly incredible game, and one which the young Gunner looked head and shoulders above the best in.

Armand Traoré – Portsmouth 1-2 Wigan

Armand Traoré once more started as Portsmouth hosted Wigan at a rain soaked Fratton Park. Tony Adams kept faith with the Frenchman as he searched for his first win in charge, in what proved to be a thrilling game.

A clumsy foul by Papa Bouba Diop on Titus Bramble in the box brought a surprise penalty, Amr Zaki smashed down the middle to hand Wigan the lead. From then on it was all Pompey.

The half time whistle brought changes from Adams, Traoré was hauled off in place of returning Croat Nico Kranjcar. Defoe and Crouch both hit the bar in a free flowing second half, and Kranjcar’s influence paid off as he stuck 8 minutes from time to level proceedings.

However, with Portsmouth pushing hard to get the winner, Emile Heskey smashed home up the other end to leave Adams without a win in two games.

Pedro Botelho – UD Salamanca 0-2 Celta de Vigo

Pedro Botelho was named among the substitutes as UD Salamanca – three points clear at the top of League – took on on relegation threatened Celta de Vigo looking to extended their lead at the top of the pile.

A difficult start was made worse when Dinei stuck after 18 minutes to give Celta a shock lead, leaving Salamanca in a real fight to the end. A well organised Celta frustrated the Union all evening, until the 84th minute when Lago was sent off.

However, you would think now the visitors could get the equaliser, but the game was sealed deep into stoppage time when Trashorras stuck to make it 2-0.

Kerrea Gilbert – Leicester City 2-1 Bristol Rovers

Kerrea Gilbert was again missing though injury as Leicester City left it late against Bristol Rovers. Former Gunner Jo Kuffour put Rovers ahead shortly after the hour mark, before two efforts from Matty Fryatt with minutes left sealed the win.

    Great work as usual JS.

Naz was soooooo unlucky with his penalty miss but once again, he showed Paul Jewell why he deserves more games with a couple of fantastic assists – the latter unfortunate to be ruled out.

Keep up the brilliant stuff mate.

Just found this site on facebook, it’s quality!

Well judging by a couple of articles I skimmed over.

Anyway I am surprised that Barazite is already back and tbh I am really glad I found out about this site. As a big Gunners fan I am having a torrid time with having to put up with the bloody first team. So the youngsters come as a welcome relief.

Does this blog do first team news or only reserves?

Not sure about Naz given the penalty “in a bid to raise his confidence” – hardly a luxury you have at 1-1! It wasn’t a great penalty from him, but yet again he was involved in so much and the chalking off of the goal from his cross at the death was an odd decision. Crazy last few minutes in that game

he was unfortunate with penalty but it probably wasnt the best idea to give it him anyway in my view but his passing was brilliant and he crossed numerous times after he came on an all of them were class! really showed of his technique

Barazite wasn’t the best. He missed a last minute penalty which could have won us the game. He was only good for 3 moments at most. Shocking, take him back.

Very glad Barazite is back fit, RELIEF. I would still prefer him to stay for the whole season at Derby, physical championship will do him the world of good. Hopefully no more dodgy tackles will be coming his way but wouldnt bet on it.

Nacer is due to return on the 31st December. I know a Derby season ticket holder and she didn’t stop praising him when I spoke to her.

Th epenalty wasn’t actually that great just because he is an Arsenal player doesn’t mean that everything he touches turns to gold. However is overall performance was fantastic. And his performances EVERy game have been no less that superb.
