Arsenal Stopper Szczęsny Breaks Even More Bones

Unlucky Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczęsny has prolonged his spell on the sidelines, after breaking his toe in training.

The Polish Under 21 goalkeeper only returned to full time training on Monday after fracturing both his arms in a bizarre incident at London Colney 3 months ago. The news came at an awful time for Wojciech, who had just penned terms on a new contract, and was being touted by many Championship clubs for a possible loan.

However, in one of his first full sessions back, Szczęsny collided with an overzealous team-mate, and was left requiring treatment from new doctor Gary O’Driscoll. A hospital scan later confirmed that the 18-year-old had broken his toe, and he faces another few months on the sidelines recovering.

It’s unknown when the giant ‘keeper will return to competitive action, but the injury looks like it will end Szczęsny’s season prematurely. All this comes after ‘Tech’ was on the fringes of returning after being spotted warming up with the Under 18’s last month.

JS, good job on reporting Rosicky’s return in January. Got Wenger’s confirmation after Sunderland game. So it increasingly looks like Rosicky will play for Reserves in 2-3 weeks time.

No problems mate, cheers for the mention.

Yepp, he’s not far away now, and his return is perfect because there’s lots of Reserve games in the next few weeks.

Bad luck for Szcz, he is so much better than mannone

I watched the 1st half and some parts of 2nd half of the reserves’ game, Cruise was plain awful, beaten in the 1v1s, beaten in aerial duels, terrible use of the ball, no concentration. To all who thinks Nordtveit is ready can hang their head in shame, physically no, focus no, positioning no, he is just not ready.

Shea has got a 1yr pro deal to my suprise

This is very, very sad to hear. He looked like such a prospect but unfortunately this will mean a big dip in his progress. I hope he can recover and continue where he left off but unfortunately it really downgrades his chances of making it here. Come good soon Tech, we need good keepers here at Arsenal.

Hi there! I am a 13 yr old and started supporting arsenal only last season. however i have never seen rosicky play! Can anyone tell me if he is a quality player? What are his strengths? I know this is not the right place to ask. But still i can see that all of you are real specialists and I am the odd one out. That is why I am questioning here. I apologise.

Ow! I knew a guy in high school who played soccer without ever getting an injury. But even the best players become targets of players who don’t like getting shown up on the field, and with professional soccer injuries cannot be avoided. Best wishes to Wojciech.

Hi J, Bit of a strange question but do you get more enjoyment out of watching the youngeters in the reseerves than the first team these days?

Rosicky was quality before he got injured, we will just have to wait and see if he ever gets back to his best. If he does then he will be a real asset to our team yes. And to be honest, we haven’t seen a great deal of him, only a season and a half which isn’t really that much. I would imagine it will take him at least until the end of the season to get up to speed.

Thanks crocker. Is he really fast and great at dribbling? Is he good enough to be in the first team if he is fit?

He is fast with decent dribbling ability but he doesnt use it as much as he used to. Got god passing ability, a great shot, good at freekicks, and the ability to score quite a few goals a season, although I dont think hes ever really been as good as he can be for us simply because hes naturally a CM but Wenger usually plays him on the left wing, which works but stunts his game a bit.
