Arsenal will have a fight on their hands this summer – to retain the services of exciting young midfielder Samir Carruthers – who is interesting, among others, Fulham.
Carruthers, who is of Moroccan descent, is largely regarded as one of the hidden gems coming through the youth system, and has subsequently attracted interest from several English sides who are keen to take advantage of his contractual situation.
Samir has been offered fresh terms by the Gunners, but with Nico Yennaris and Chuks Aneke already making movements into the Under 18’s, the youngster would like reassurances over his development.
A versatile and technical midfielder, Carruthers’ playing style has seen him compared to his Arsenal name sake and look-a-like, Samir Nasri. Fulham invited him along for a look at their facilities last week, and are expected to follow up the interest with an offer in due course.
Young Guns first introduced fans to the all action starlet last year, and the potential we talked about then seems to be very accurate. All that remains now is for his long term future to be decided, and then the real work of harvesting his talents can begin.

Carruthers has to play for Arsenal, regardless of his Moroccan descent a name like that on the teamsheet will put an end to all the sniping that we are not ‘english’ enough. it doesn’t get MORE english than Curruthers, old boy!

Alex – I’ll do an update on that in the morning for you :)
Thank you, just hoping hes not had another setback, great player, don’t know what to believe about his injury. Been out for more than a year with a halmstring injury which was supposed to only be for 2-3 weeks. I’ve also heard rumours that he failed a drugs test and he has a 12 or 18 month ban but it wasn’t made public but i’m sure thats bullsh*t.
Hey J. how about that other Fulham youngster Arsenal had on trial, what became of him. Keep the good stuff coming!
is henderson bk frm injury
I have seen the U18s highlights against Chavski, Yennaris played decent when he came on and i was also suprised by how many aerial duels that he won against much older players of Chavski.
Nigel Neita also made his U18s debut, despite having used 29 players in the U18s league, and focusing on development than winning, we are still topping the table is excellent compare to Man Utd and Chavski.
I am guessing that S. Carruthers will also get his chance in the upcoming games unless he starts misbehaving bcuz he wants a move
The lads won today, 5-1!
We are trying to poach Dominic Vose from Fulham.
