Date Penciled In For Rosický's Reserves Return

Czech play-maker Tomáš Rosický has been penciled in to make his come back from injury in Arsenal’s Reserves League South clash with Chelsea on the 23rd of March.

Rosický returned to training in early February, and the initial assessment of his return was very promising, with Arsène Wenger saying he looked ‘unbelievably strong’ in training. He recently rejoined the rest of the group at London Colney, and is making significant inroads towards a return.

The Chelsea clash is the final Reserves game of March, and leads into a busy April with back-to-back fixtures with Tottenham adding up to a tasty penultimate month of the season.

Wenger has already confirmed his desire for Tomáš to play in the Reserves before coming back into the first-team, and with Neil Banfield’s great record of easing some of the Frenchman’s prized possession back to action, expect the Czech skipper to be featuring in a handful of second string games before the end of April.

This will be great news to Wenger.
Wenger will suddenly feel that he has the largest attacking squad in the Premier League.

wow that is so great, rosicky is class and arsenal have been missing him a lot, before we had pires and ljungberg scoring lots of goals for us from midfield, and rosicky walcott and arshavin if deployed there can have similar succes on the wings,am so looking forward for his return, hopefully he hasnt lost his pace that much

That’s great news considering how good a player he is (although now that we have Walcott, Arshavin, Nasri and Eboue playing well he may not be needed so much this season).

Also, if Arsenal don’t have any reserves games in March after the 23rd, he surely won’t be able to play for at least another week (unless he gets a place on the bench in whatever first team game we have in that week).

Imagine for a heady moment what this Arsenal squad might do if (by some miracle) we managed to get through next season without any serious, long-term injuries…

That would be amazing. Tom is a wonderful, world class player. I think seeing him back at the Emirates for the first time will be as emotional as seeing Eduardo. Tom must have been through hell with this injury, worrying that maybe his career was under threat. It will be brilliant to see him back, what a boost to the team if he came back as good as he was before he was injured. Him, Cesc, Arsh, Theo, Vela, Nasri make for a hell of an attacking midfield. Good luck Tom…

He’s a massive, massive player. I’m not sure how much he can affect this season, but simply knowing we should have him fit and raring to go for next season is a real lift. He is a quality player and on his day I rate him as highly as Cesc. We have never seen Rosicky at his best because he has always had little niggles, so hopefully this next season he will have a run of games and show the world-class qualities he has.

Cheers J on a handy report.

So glad, just so glad. People forget just how good he is. Captain of the Czech republic, and incredibly experienced. Anyone want to bet against him scoring the winning goal in one of the finals we WILL reach this season?

I think I wasn’t alone in thinking we’d may have never seen Rosicky again in an Arsenal shirt – he’s had terrible hamstring problems since before we bought him and the injury that has kept him out for more than a year looked like it could have been the unfortunate culmination of injury prevailing over talent and finishing a career.

I’m still incredibly cautious but the word around surrounding all this is that he took so long off to completely sort the problem, so if he does return, it won’t be like last time (2 weeks available, 3 weeks off; 1 foot forward, 1 steps back).

Rosicky was a star when he played. Absolute diamond of a footballer and at 28, still has his peak years ahead of him hopefully. It will be fortunate timing for article writers if he comes back to great form as well, in terms of him finally accepting the baton from Nedved.

To be honest I don’t think Rosicky ever will be as good as he was before these injury problems. He’ll probably get injured again soon and then it’s over. He doesn’t have the physique to play top level football. This hurts for me to say but sadly i think it’s true, such a talented player but so many injuries. Like Ljungberg at his last 2 seasons with us!

It will be really great to have Rosicky back. He should add onto the rich no experienced midfielders we have. This is now beginning to look like the real Arsenal team. I can’t wait to see these guys all back in action and how we shall run riot on defenses.

Im sure he’ll be over his injuriy problems. This is great news. He’ll be back ready for the first team in time for May when we play Chelsea and Man Utd in the league. Think the Liverpool away game will also be re-scheduled for May if we get to the FA Cup semi’s.

fantastic news, he can play in the middle and on the flanks. he wud have been exactly the player to fill in for cesc these last few months had he not been injured. i still remember his goals against liverpool in the fa cup a couple of seasons ago, big games, big performances. he has the experience that wud have led to crucial openings in that run of nil nil draws we had, and wud have popped up with other goals as well. top news.

the only problem i can see is how to fit fabregas, arshavin, rosicky, nasri and walcott into midfield wen there will be denilson/song having to take up at least 1 midfield spot. even with a 4-5-1 we have too much!! a nice problem to have mr wenger!

It will be great to get Rosicky, Fabregas, Eduardo and Adebayor back as we have 2 cups and a league run-in to complete. We need strong squad depth to cope with the fixtures we have coming up. With Arshavin settling in well, Vela getting more game time, Song & Eboue improving, and Walcott coming back to full fitness, i can safely say that i have confidence in this team again.

    COME ON THE ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! Rosicky may not have the amazing vision of Cesc, or the incredible speed of Walcott, but his technique, improvisation, and quick passing and incredible attitude (and he does have good vision) on the pitch make him my favourite player. Lov him

I thought I was reading today that he just had a setback (after the article was written) and won’t be available for another two weeks? Anyone have a clear picture about this one? I’d love to have Rosicky back, I still can’t make up my mind about which injury had the biggest impact on last season (Rosicky, RVP, Eduardo, or Sagna’s completely underrated end of season absence) but Rosicky was so damn good. I loved watching him and Henry play together, what a perfect combination. I miss Little Mozart.

he is a great flair player and has an eye for goal. Love him, its very unfortunate he has missed a huge amount of playing time for arsenal.
