Arsenal's U15's & U16's Beat Chelsea – Pictures

Arsenal’s Under 15’s and Under 16’s played out their traditional end of season friendly against Chelsea yesterday – and both came away with wins on a delightful afternoon in front of the players friends and family.

The Under 16’s boasted their skipper Benik Afobe in attack and several other starlets who have made the step up to Under 18 football this season. Indeed the experience gained in playing for the side which went on to win the League proved vital as the Gunners cruised past their London rivals.

Captain Afobe led by example by bagging a classy brace while tricky winger Jernade Meade and imposing central midfielder Chuks Aneke added to their growing reputation with further strikes. It was a fantastic result for Steve Gatting’s boys following their Atalanta Cup heartbreak.

But before all that the Under 15’s kicked things off with a credible 2-1 victory over the same opponents. A Zak Ansah thunderbolt and a Nigel Neita tap in was enough despite the award of a penalty to Chelsea. Yilmaz Aksoy was also on hand to guarantee the win – the youngster made several superb saves on what was an excellent day of football.

Don’t suppose you’ve got a Chelsea lineup? Can see from the pics that Deen-Conteh, Lalkovic, Devyne, Chalobah and Clifford all featured for the u16s, but anything else would be cool.

    Do you have the teamsheets?

Will Wynter, Webb, Monokana, Rees, Glascow and Chambers be able to play for the U16 next season or are they too old?

Let them at least hit the u18s (like Wilshere and Afobe) before we start hyping them :)
