With the Reserves and Academy League campaigns now both over, attention is slowly turning to shaping the squad for next season with a handful of in’s and outs expected as Liam Brady reshuffles the pack.
Typically Young Guns will be keeping you up to date with all the latest goings on with regular updates on speculation and of course news when deals break. Last summer we announced every single new signing before anybody else and this summer promises to be a similar scenario.
Three confirmed transfers have already gone through with goalkeeper Sean McDermott being joined by defender Martin Angah and holding midfielder Jamie Edge. Vincent van den Berg has been released and should be joined by a handful more shortly while Rui Fonte has returned to parent club Sporting Lisbon after his contract expired.
Samir Carruthers is the latest name to leave the club after being offered pro forms by Aston Villa. In an apparent exclusive – which turned out to be a comment on Facebook – the central midfielder admitted a lucrative contract and the lure of working with Villa’s coaching staff were key reasons behind the switch.
To see the confirmed deals as mentioned above see the table below and be sure to check our Transfer Centre throughout the ‘silly season’.

‘in an apparent exclusive’ lol, is that aimed at Mr Baird?
Great post. I think it will be intersting to see where those that were too old for the under 18 triumphs (Merida, Hoyte Randall etc) will figure next season, personally i can see a few heading off for permanent deals with decent payback for us, perhaps with our payback likely to be less like Bentley and more like Andy Cole. Good to see this sort of info available as everyone loves a bit of transfer news, by the way did anyone see Rochester CB Ross Clarke is gay?
what date is it announced when the younsters get pro deals and which players get released? Is it 1st June?
i think the contracts run out on last day of june. And has anyone any news on dunne ogogo rodgers steer and blackwood
Rui Fonte and van den Berg are out? I thought Rui Fonte was quite a prospect.
I missed the pre game view with Banfield for the West Brom reserves away when he was talking about dunne and other but caught the Agogo part, he has a contract with Barnet.

How much more movement do you expect there to be with regards to youth transfers. I would only think one or two more signings. Also who do you think will be the stand out player for the youth team next season who is going to suprise everyone?
it’s always exciting to talk about Arsenal young transfer, because they could the next superstars.

if he’s a cunt, you’re no different either. At least he is informative on the latest happenings in arsenal youth football unlike you u son of a bitch. If you don’t like what you read, then f*ck off mate. I bet you’re a sp*rs fan u bloody cunt.
I must say that first comment is very out of order. “Untold Arsenal” which I edit is always trying to get youth info faster than this site, and we never manage and and always end up referring back here.
What about george thorne apparently we are after him from what i have seen he looks an awesome talent but hes a CM and we got loads of them, surely we need to buy some wide players or full backs

i didn’t realise banfield said ogogo had a contract at barnet, i hoped he would go to a higher club than that though.
what is happening to Gilles Sunu? Is he going to Lyon
I am very impressed with the youth team, and this blog for keeping us up to date.
I hope to see Jack, Thomas, and Frimpong very soon.
This is nuts. A team spend goobs of money and time on a prospect and then he leaves for another club! That’s not right. But hey, that’s the world of big time futebol. No Eh! Arsenal needs help putting the ball into the back of the net. A good farm system is a must. That’s a baseball analogy. Farm teams get good young prospects and train them. In the past that’s why the New York Yankees were successful. Not now but from 1920-1965. I am watching the FA cup Chelsea’s up 2-1. A great goal by Lampard.. Bobby Gee http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/
Hey, Jamie, what happened to all your affiliates on the right hand side? Links are gone!!
BobbyGee,
Please stop spamming this blog. This blog is about gunners in the youth teams. Not only do your American sports analogies and terminology make no sense for most of us who do not live in America, but your posts have very little to do with the subject of this blog. This blog is not your own personal advertising space. If no-one is reading your blog, maybe you should take the hint…
bobbygee kidnapped them all.
Jamie, do you have any clue why Arsenal didnt sign Tresor Mputu in January 2008, because he was on trial and Wenger said he was interested in him. He plays for Dem of Congo.
Gavin Hoyte played 90 mins for England U19 in their 4-1 win on Friday.
