The future of wing-back Pedro Botelho looks set to be resolved next week with the teenage Brazilian penning a year long loan deal with Spanish Segunda outfit Celta Vigo.
Reports in the Spanish media claim that Botelho has already signalled his interest in joining Celta and they’re just waiting for the green light from Arsenal to tie up the deal. Supporter sites suggest the 19-year-old is currently in England training with Arsenal but this wide of the mark.
Young Guns can confirm that Pedro used one of four booked hotel rooms last week as he flew into London for talks with Arsène Wenger. However, he was only in the capital for two days before returning to Spain where it’s thought that he’s already undergone a medical and is ready to sign on the dotted line.
An experience building La Liga loan move to Xerez broke down due to a change of manager, which saw Carlos Vela’s former Osasuna chief Jose Ziganda installed. Sensing an opportunity, Celta, one of Arsenal’s former link club’s, have moved quickly – possibly in an attempt to reignite a relationship with the Gunners.
But away from that, Botelho, who made 27 appearances for UD Salamanca last season, is expected to join former Union man Vasco Fernandes in a new look Celta back-line early next week. As ever, Young Guns will be covering Pedro’s exploits on loan next season.

Cool! So he won’t be sold as was reported a while back, for his, erm, indiscretions!
Nicve one, he could turn oput to be a great player for us.
Would it not of been better if he was loaned to a La Liga side like Vela was?
JS u sure its a loan deal? I swear its a permanent one. Anway JS is conor henderson in the squad today or his he injured? I think if hes fit he might start could make an impact like wilshere did last season
I hope its not permanent, really want to see him play for us
I wanna see him on the left wing as well. We really do need someone on the left even though rosicky and arshavin and nasri have done well its not there position.

Why are we loaning him to a Segunda Division team again? He has to step up and show his worth in the Primera Division.
Yeah we should have loaned him to Osasuna
To be honest I don’t think Botelho has done enough to warrant a move to the Primera Division.
If he went to a Primera club he’d probaly be on the bench the majority of the time and that’s no good for his development. I’d prefer him to stay in the Segunda division where he’d most likely get more games.

From what I know, it’s not a permanent deal, he’s only going on loan. There was discussions over a permananet deal, but I don’t think it was ever agreed.
I don’t think he is better than Traore, gibbs and even cruise. Clichy will have competition this season but he is our number 1.
I am delighted with your blog, much to learn!
Thanks
