Derby Confirm Interest In Randall Signing

Derby County chairman Adam Pearson has confirmed his side are keen to sign 19-year-old midfielder Mark Randall on loan for the coming season, describing him as ‘the type of player we’re looking for’.

The classy starlet has been made available for loan after an indifferent season with the club following a three month spell with Burnley. It now seems the next 12 months will decide whether Randall will make the grade at Arsenal, or be sold on. Should the latter happen, there will no doubt be plenty of suitors, yet Pearson makes it clear any agreement would strictly be a loan one.

“Mark Randall is a player we are certainly aware of and falls into the bracket of the type we are looking to bring in on a long loan.”

Burnley were also linked with his signature, along with that of Kieran Gibbs, but those reports were unfounded. It’s expected Pearson will make contact with Arsenal in the coming days and bring the youngster in to begin training early. Mark was present as Arsene Wenger put the squad through their paces this morning, but it’s already been made clear that he won’t be adding to his 11 first team appearances for the Gunners this term.

More to follow.

:O, no way we can loan Gibbsy out. He has to remain here as our back-up LB IMO, unless Wenger sees Traore as that man…

i’m a bit pissed wright know……you mentioned obertan quite a few times here and the news that he is going to manu is upsetting. i like this guy and our speculation should have turned to action. Arsenal dont surprise me enough, it’s like weeks of speculation follow then the transfer. be spontaneous for a change, surprise me for f**ks sake things are so predictable!!!!!! pull your fingers out man the club has got money….dont give me that old chesnut….we acting cheap and lethargic in the transfer window…..is that why things always seem to drag on, is it because we become a bunch of haggelers…FIX-UP!!!!!

I hope randall makes it at arsenal he seemed really good in the carling cup. It would be nice for a few of the english players who have grown up at arsenal to at least stay as squad players. Surely with the possibility of home grown players rules coming in it makes sense to keep people like him.

Think the guy behind Arshavin could be Miguel, can’t confirm that though.

It looks a bit like Miquel yep. The player to the left of number 74 looks like Thomas Cruise.

    Agree on Obertan btw.

Get shut of Randall asap – he’s getting in the way for others. I assume there wouldn’t be a fee involved.

If he went on loan, the fee would be nominal. But we’d expect some transfer fee if he left because he only signed new terms in January.

I’ve always been impressed when I’ve seen him in the first team. Think he has a chance of making it to be honest. Good luck to him anyway

Randall is not bad. But our midfield is too good for now. He is 19 and we should kick him out becouse he is not good enough for our first team? That would be so damn stupid! How many 19-20s do play for a top side as Arsenal? NONE!?? Atleast wait til he is 22 before we consider selling him. I am convince he will do good in Derby. Since I first saw him in a youth cup 2,5 years ago, I’ve been a big fan.

People are deluded Mark randall a fantastic player its because before you couldnt watch reserves games online so you couldnt see people like bendtner and randall performing brilliantly. I use to go to underhill trust me randall a quality player hes just has alot of niggling injuries and needs to be switched on. Hes like pirlo. As for bendtner hes the best arsenal youth player i havre seen

as for Obertan, I agree he’s a talented player, but our midfield is rather congested right now, and our system is developing into one without wingers, and its proving effective.

The fact that Randall couldn’t get into an England u19 squad surely tells you something.

To LSOE… Randall also played against premier leauge teams in cc. wilshere, randall, simpson, gibbs did not play for u19s then. Does that mean we should sell all of them? National team is a big joke at times. How many u18s do we have in the england national team right now? 2? And we won the leauge and fa youth cup! It sure tells you something.. but not sell our future.

FAO Haho – What’s that mate? Have you been drinking? When you sober up in the morning let me know what’s on your mind. Yeah?

FAO Jam – Liverpool have done great in the Youth Cup in recent years but they don’t get in England’s youth teams. Gibbs played for England in last years u19 Euro Finals and wilshere played in the u17s last month. Frimpong is an u16 and u17 England player, Murphy has played for England since the u16s and done better than future England star Welbeck. And Hoyte is in the u19 squad for the Euro u19 Finals in two weeks. Afobe played in the u17 Euros last month or so.Whereas that duck Randall…

Even us Arsenal fans, from Nigeria can see(via Arsenal TV) that Mark Randall;though technically gifted shows a lack of interest, will and motivation in the reserve games i watched him play last season.Randall needs to take charge of games and control them (as most games just pass him by)to be classified a top level player.I personally think he would have to have a change of attitude and work ethic before he can make it at arsenal IMO.
