Ansah, Neita & Campbell Net As Trialists Star

null

Arsenal’s Under 16’s thrashed their Charlton Athletic counterparts on Saturday morning as Steve Gatting prepared for the new campaign by fielding an XI made up of regulars and trialists.

Gatting only has a week to make a decision on his side so will have to move quickly if he wants the prospects signed in time to make their debuts against Sheffield United. Charlton were expected to provide a huge challenge but the Gunners brushed aside the League One based outfit with ease.

Strikers Zak Ansah and Nigel Neita set Arsenal on their way before defender James Campbell thumped home number three. American Luis Gil then added number four before two other trialists completed a 5-0 demolition. Charlton held their own in the second half and goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cooke did well to keep a clean sheet after being peppered with shots.

Young Guns will keep you updated with any announcements on new signings.

I know some of the players are new to the club, but couldn’t we get some shorts to fit number 9!

Is there a reason the other two trialists are not named especially considering a fifth goal had been scored?

J, you say two other trailists scored the remaining goal… First of all, that means either it was 6-0 or they combined to score the goal… Which one is it?
Also, you say two other trailists, and seeing as how you are (or, sorry to hint at, pretend to be) to the Arsenal youth setup and your inside info, can’t you give us any names? You never confirmed to us the names of the four people we booked hotelrooms for, and now again… Mate, we wanna know who we are talking about!

Also, to add to this: what is going down with the young Serbian winger, the so called ‘new Messi’, Betrovic or something like that, he trialed with us and was supposed to be on the verge of signing, what is going on there?

Haho – Read the last line of the article.

Also, why give him a hard time regarding the trialists? It’s either he doesn’t know the full details or there’s a reason for his discretion. Ur trying to get onto him for not disclosing all the details? Come on now – be thankful that you know as much as you do as without this blog a lot of us will be left in the dark as to what the youth are saying right now.

    TJ DA GOON:

this may well be my favourite site, and I am a regular, and very grateful this site exists. But discretion seems not to be a reason, most of the articles here are written based on existing articles online. I trust J has excellent knowledge of the entire setup and the gossip, but he never has shown any real discretion nor any reason for discretion… And he just gets me excited with new of the trialists performing excellently but we are left in the dark. A good host does not do that. Almost my entire knowledge of Arsenal youth comes from this website (along with it’s admirable though clearly lesser rival Jeorge Bird) but why no names…. I just would like them a lot. And perhaps more updates on progress in signings…

Haho – I know what ur saying mate and i understand completely. Like many other followers of this blog and JB’s Youth, i would like to know what’s happening with those trialists but like he stated at the end of this article, he will let us know when he hears something himself. He has good credibility as he doesn’t make shit up or post ‘nothing’ stories just to get hits and although he’s got one or two things wrong in the past (as he isn’t perfect and went along on pure speculation) he doesn’t want to compromise that trust he’s gained from us followers.

Like Guv has pointed out, it’s really hard to get info from the main people at the club and even though i’m not one of the people who are always telling him to ‘keep up the good work’, i have the utmost respect for him as he is a young lad who hopes to be a journalist one day and takes time out of his life to keep us posted on anything that may be going on at the Arsenal at youth level.

I’m also very excited about great young talent that may be signing or not, particularly the boy Wellington ever since J broke the news that he hit FOUR goals in one half of football, but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen, it’s as simple as that.

Like i said, i understand where ur coming from and i know ur a regular here and on JB’s blog and i respect ur views usually. I just thought you had a bit of a go at J and i feel that’s unfair, that’s all mate.

No problem, I can take criticism…Especially well balanced and argumented criticism… Of course, this site is wonderfull. He knows to much about this Youth setup, it is great. If he ever asked for a little donation to keep the site running, I would pay… So I understand your view of needing to defend him, and I was not having a go at him, not by any means. But to me it seemed as though the simpler things he did not know (trialists names) whilst all the best transfer rumours and details of match reports, both from us and loanees, he delivers without hesitation. It seems to me that quite a few people are privy to such info as whom is trialing. Though, as I should have made clear, I was not having a go at Young Guns, this site has improved my love for all thins Arsenal tenfold, knowing about your own Youth involves one to a next level. Chapeau, J, thanks!

J, what do you think about Arsenal closing in on the signing of Massamba Sambou,

    i quote;
“he is a 23 year old, defensive midfielder/central defender, and is a strong tall player at 6 foot 2”.

a cheap buy at 1 million, but, I don’t see why, this is just going to hinder the development of Frimpong, Coquelin, etc.

but, it could potentially be a steal?

Fans of the gunners out there I think the first team could use a powerful striker before the transfer window closes and after all my watching(scouting) of world football I pick the Hulk of Porto FC had a great Peace cup and is what I think the first team needs? And maybe tall centerback pay 7-9 mil per player? I must say Alex Song has been awesome!!!!!! Let’s hear some names?

Hulk is a great player and he would be a good Reinforcement, but we don’t need a new striker, but if we need one later, then I prefer Hulk.
He has a brutal left foot and he’s a real powerhouse.

ottre – I can help you here, Wynter, Neita and Ansah are just schoolboys and are not scholars yet, like edge, angha, etc. As for the missing 3 these are the 2nd year scholars deacon, byles and obed. Updating the official website is a job for someone not a hobby, I am sure that whoever has that job will add these 3 when they get round to it.

Lansbury to Watford…a bit dissapointed he went to a championship side. Thought he could go to a bottom half team in premier league, but then maybe he would not get to play that much

Srna? I’ve not heard anything about that. Got a link or anything? Would be an interesting signing I think.
Regarding Lansbury, I’m not sure how pleased I am to see him go on loan again. I suppose it’s a good thing because he’ll be getting first team football, it would have been nice to see him given a chance in the Carling Cup at least.

Sean, my perspective is that Lansbury going out on loan will benefit all because of the high competition in central midfield. Ramsey, Merida and Wilshere has done very well and needs time.

About the Srna is my own speculation on a very loose foundation, so just a curiousity. In this article the agent says that he is most likely to join a club in the premier league that is at the moment selling a right winger; Srna’s is very versatile and strong at right back and right wing, Eboue is very versatile and strong at right back and right wing. Eboue is rumoured to be on the way out, and if not Chelsea is selling Joe Cole I can not see it could be them and City has got Wright-Phillips
