Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea – Under 18's – Match Report

Arsenal’s Under 18’s continued their rampant title charge this morning with an impressive 2-0 win over a hugely talented Chelsea side in the London derby at London Colney. Luke Freeman continued his superb form against the Blues with his 10th of the season before Conor Henderson wrapped things up with a fine strike to seal victory.

Hajrovic – Boateng – Miquel – Evina (c)
Aneke – Frimpong – Henderson
Deacon – Afobe – Freeman

Benik Afobe smacked the post and forced two stunning saves from the Chelsea ‘keeper while Roarie Deacon could and should have made the scoreline look even more comprehensive. However, Steve Bould’s boys will take the 2-0 ahead of a key few weeks which sees them take on Norwich and then Crewe as the Gunners look to defend their F.A Youth Cup title.

That team is very close or might even be the starting line-up for the FA youth cup. I am sure Ozzy will not be happy but thats how it goes sometimes, remember Watt and Sunu wasnt a starter in the cup last season but towards the end of tournament, bcuz of performance and injuries they were starters. Dissapointment will always come but its how those players react that really matters.

That will follow on shortly. Yeah Super, it’s very close to the Youth Cup squad, I’d imagine Ozzy will be in the actual XI but he’s badly out of form atm. By the way for those who are interested, I have the first-team starting XI –

Good to see Ramsey, Merida and Wilshere on there!

    ———— Almunia ————
    Sagna – Gallas – Vermaelen – Traore
    Fabregas – Denilson – Nasri
    Eboue – Arshavin – Rosicky

Subs:- Fabianski, Senderos, Silvestre, Ramsey, Merida, Wilshere, Vela.

The team seems to be really coming together especially up front. Who would be the biggest threat to Arsenal to retain the Fa cup

FAO Jonathon – It seems a very open Youth Cup this year. There don’t seem to be any particularly strong teams. Man City are out already. Liverpool aren’t much at all. Man U will probably be the biggest danger and they are somewhat inexperienced.

West Ham United might be a threat especially considering the talent they have in there U16’s and U18’s football teams

looking at the line-up, aren’t we lacking true wingers? are there many true wingers in the under 18’s/reserve level?
