Loanees – Simpson Scores Plus Hoyte & Lansbury

Welcome to this Boxing Day Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

In the Championship Jay Simpson ended his mini baron run with the opener as QPR edged Bristol City 2-1. Simpson’s 9th of the season came after 31 minutes where his smart finish sent the R’s on their way. Former Gunner Matthew Connolly played the final minutes. Henri Lansbury played every minute of Watford’s 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest. The England midfielder turned in a solid shift in an overall dull game.

Gavin Hoyte completed a rare 90 minutes for Brighton as they shut out Leyton Orient in a 0-0 draw. Elsewhere, Rhys Murphy played the 2 minutes of second half stoppage time in place of goalscorer Ben Strevens as Brentford beat Gillingham 1-0. Wojciech Szczesny was absent from the squad.

Pedro Botelho and Havard Nordtveit are both enjoying the winter break with the latter losing his manager earlier in the week.

I really hope he gets a couple more chances to make it at the club he loves the most. If he is Championship material then he can’t be too far off premiership level. Still doesn’t mean he can make it at a massive club but still, it would be a great thing to see and it would make a great story. Young men in North London would look up to him a lot if he made it!! Come on Jay!! Come on Arsenal!!:D Beat villa!! haha

Why did Brentford want Rhys Murphy on loan for? To take the piss?

Maybe Murphy isn’t good enough? That, or an unsettlement with the coach, is usually the reason the player doesn’t play:/

But Tech9 has impressed me big time, why didn’t he feature today?

Well obviously he isn’t good enough, hence the reason he only gets a couple mins here and there but he would be much better served staying at Arsenal and battling it out with Sanchez and Gilles for a starting spot in the ressies rather than warming their bench and only getting minimal time. At least this way he’ll be getting a better quality of training with much better training facilities. It’s sad, but the signs for this once precocious talent are looking ominous.

Think Simpson had a “barren run” and not a “baron run”.

I think there’s a chance that Rhys is probably still training with our squad like Szczesny.

Scott said he’s been injured, but didn’t say how serious it was.

Will Nordveidt be included in Arsenal’s first team next season or will we see another loan move to Germany or a higher championship/ lower prem team?

wojciech’s extented loan will end on Jan 17th. he’s still taken care by arsenal medical team. he was asked to pull out of last 2 games for a previously picked back injury, not severe, just for precaution.
