Following confirmation of the signing of Fluminense forward Wellington Silva, Arsenal are hot the heels of their second Brazilian, with Silva’s international team-mate Zézinho also being lined up for a move to North London.
His club side Juventude have rejected a number of bids from Arsenal but they finally succumbed to increase pressure and accepted an offer in December. However, a change of board has seen President Sergio Florian wait until January to decide whether to sanction the transfer. A group of European investors have also had an offer accepted meaning it will be a two-way fight.
The exciting left-footed winger is already a regular for the Serie ‘B’ outfit but his days are numbered. It’s almost certain that his current employers will not fully own their prize asset by the end of the January window. Zézinho only signed a new deal recently but his club manager expects him to leave, with an improved bid set to come to secure the transfer for Arsenal shortly.
“The last contact from Arsenal was about 20 days ago. I think they are waiting until January, when the transfer window opens and the Head of Arsenal Youth will make an improved bid. For now, there is nothing new.”
A skilful, diminutive but strong attacking winger, Zézinho spent two weeks on trial a year ago, and since then he’s gone on to be a key part of the Brazil youth lineup and for Juventude’s first team. A transfer should be concluded shortly.

his is great news for arsenal
he is gonna be 1 for the future defintely
him sterling afobe freeman wellington henderson and ramsey are arsenals future
woo another brazilian buy is he going to be loaned out like wellington?
& wilshere
Are u sure hes a winger not a central midfielder?
Well you can’t have too many brazilians at your club. Striker as well please Arsene!!
Positive. He can play play in central midfield though.
why do i get the feeling this is one we are going to miss out on? I do hope not as from what I have seen he looks a bit special
Thats the thing i thought he was a central type player. We need wingers not more central midfielders.
Hopefully he can play for us some in 2015…

Unbelieveable mate. I only asked on here a couple of days ago about the progress of Zezhino and Wellington and news on both has come in 2 days.
God knows how you get this information, but it is very much appreciated.
would we be looking at this kid going to spain for bit like vela did?
i think those investors will get him dey will pay him loads of money
& vela, merida, JET…
Blimey, there is something about Arsenal and Brazilians! Edu, Silvinho and Denilson were/are very good squad players and Gilberto is an unsung legend. Let’s hope these guys can carry on the tradition.
(Wenger has a history with Brazilians stretching further back. He bought the superstar Sonny Anderson at Monaco in the nineties- the player that Thierry wears 14 because of.)
1. How old is Zezinho?
2. ‘A group of European investors have also had an offer accepted meaning it will be a two-way fight.’ What the hell does mean? It sounds like masters buying slaves!
There has a compromise, in Fluminense there are Wellington, and Wellington Silva! Look in your photograph!http://youngguns.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/video-watch-arsenals-wellington-silva-score-cracker/
That on the left, it is Wellington, a attacker-winger, left-hand, he is which has a large coast in Brazil! That of right-hand side, it is Wellington Silva, centre-forward, who advanced also in Brazil team! Can you give me more information on the transfer? Thank you!
its the same with tevez and masc
its a joke only clubs should be allowed buy players not fuckin people looking to exploit them
Dats a good buy, hope wil shine at Arsenal. But guys we need xperience heads now.
Arsène Wenger is convinced that Henri Lansbury will be a “big player” for Arsenal.
The 19-year-old midfielder is one of many young Englishman climbing through the ranks at Emirates Stadium and he has been rewarded for his steady progress with a new long-term contract.
Lansbury is currently on loan at Watford – he has made 20 appearances so far – and will spend the rest of the campaign at Vicarage Road to gain valuable experience. But when he returns to Arsenal in the summer he will be very much part of Wenger’s plans.
“He will be a big player for me,” the manager told Arsenal.com
“He is at the moment having a very interesting experience [at Watford] that we judge to be very successful.
“He will come back at the end of the season and practise with the first-team in the next pre-season. Then we will assess the situation with him together.”
Good to see wenger rates him!!!
J, is your info on this from the Brazilian article or more hands-on? Cause I have read the last few days/weeks that Zezinho has been signed by us (from other sources) and the whole ‘investors buying a player’ sounds a bit Tevez to me, besides, what player decides it is better to play for a investor rather than for Arsenal…
haho: one that is offered a lot more money.
Great to hear keep us posted j
If this Zezinho is that kind of player, we should be lucky not to get him.
Also: I am staggered what good deals this one and Wellington would be. Douglas da Silva, Mancs Brazil boy, should cost them 15 million. Neymar 30. Wellington is really, really good (check that MUPC video) and costs an eighth of that. Zezinho ditto. Gazidis is one hell of a dealmaker. They are all in the same international team as Neymar of hype boy Coutinho.
Ps; some Sean said yesterday that Zezinho was coming. We sort of dismissed that but look now. He also said Sterling and Conte would be ours… anything on that? Also, do these transfer mean the end of Galvan, and, even worse, Gil? Cause I really liked Luis Gil.
I’m confused…
In the title you say “…bid accepted..” yet you follow it up by saying that they expect a bid in January. Which one is it? And why is he posing in an Arsenal shirt if he hasn’t signed? Or was it a gift when he was on trial?
keep them coming!!!!
haho, I feel Sean said that much in the same way as me If I ‘prophesised’ that Chamakh will come in August followed by van de Wiel. I’m hoping rather than expecting, but it’s not impossible. Just because one wish came true doesn’t mean the others will.
Nuremberg has officially announced the loan signing of Breno from Bayern Munich. I guess that’ll leave zero opportunities for Nordtveit to play at CB for them, which I think will end up being his best position.
Also Nordveidt have fight for his place for the scond half of the campaign, because Nuremberg is gonna sign Andreas Ottl on loan also from Bayern Munich, he plays defensive midfield, exactly the position of Nordveidt plays in the first half of the campaign.
He looks like christiano ronaldo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that so Dudu? I just did a google search and found those articles indicating the likely loan signing of Ottl to Nuremberg. Hmmm, that along with the change in management (the previous manager always had Nordtveit starting at DM when he was healthy) probably means little playing time for Nordtveit. I wonder if he can be recalled. We could use some help with Song gone to ACN.
Both players look good on FM!). :D
i rill appreciate that you complete sinning it
is it only me or is he really lookin similar to cristiano ronaldo??
what do u say guys??
am rill arsenal fan i want us to win trophy this season please we need big experience srikers
I have seen him play. This kid will be very good. He is powerful and can flat out play. I like him.
Is it only me or does he kinda look like C.Ronaldo?
i rill appreciate that you complete sinning zinzinho
Nuremberg is also close to signing free agent Slovak international defensive midfielder Radoslav Zabavnik and are even being linked with the loan signing of Roy Makaay. If they pull it all off, then they sure will have an aggressive new manager.
I got a feeling that he will be another Cristiano Ronaldo for us, another one that got away…
so do i

I think he looks more like the other/original Ronaldo actually.
Tbh, Sean, to me seems like he may actually have some inside info. I can’t recall exactly, but he has said some things in the past that have come true.
It would be strange if we didn’t get him, we’ve had an offer accepted and he’s taken a photo of himself holding an Arsenal shirt, so he seems really keen.
Sam: The same happened with Zlatan (posed w/ shirt, had offer accepted, went to… Juve) and one or two other players. Personally I think he will come just because there isn’t another club known to be seriously interested and working with Wenger and Cesc must be the most exciting thing a youngster could ask for.
yes, but at this time we didnt have gazidis :-). he is just brillant for negotiations. i for one think zezinho is already an arsenal player like wellington.
I think wenger learned about some mistakes he has done.
http://arsenalaction.wordpress.com/2009/07/27/photo-arsenal-could-have-signed-ibrahimovic-for-3m/
wont happen in this way again!!
DAMN, In Wenger we trust right?
Ibrahimovic, might B even better than he is now!
Samuel – Ibrahimovic went to Ajax from Malmo and then to Juve mate. :)
We bought RVP instead of Ibra and i will always have RVP ahead of Ibra all time.
We got Jeffers for 8 million pounds when we could’ve got Ibra for less than half of that? F*ck! Also, this Sean guy could have some inside sources I believe, because I’ve also heard some whispers that Zezinho is already a done deal and that talks with QPR about Raheem Sterling are still ongoing, but offer and asking price are said to be miles apart.
Last rumour: Sanderson, could you tell me if there is any credibility in the rumour that we’re almost certain to sign Fluminense’s 15 year-old wingback/centre back Wallace Oliveira dos Santos?
im happy with what we have
Another misconception that we could have had Zlatan on the cheap.
Arsene Wenger was not convinced by his attitude not his aptitude. He asked for a week test to see in situhow he integrated with the rest of the team. Zlatan refused to have a test.
Zlatan is now recognised as a great player, but he has had some bad public fall out with coaches since his move. Time made him grow up, maybe if he had joined Arsenal he would have finished the same way than Quincy did: Big headed talented who throw away his career by being a party playboy.
Quincy did an interview where he admit regretting not applying himself as much as he should when at Arsenal.

How does young guns get all it’s news! It’s amazing, well played though. Future looking bright for arsenal (as usual).
Who gives a fuck, Zlatan is the best striker in the world bar none at the moment. Even makes Drogba look average. People say ‘oh but we could have had Ronaldo, Kaka, Drogba, Ribery etc. etc. etc.’ but Zlatan is the 1 player of the decade I really, really wished we pulled through on. Can you imagine if he was next to van Persie these past couple seasons instead of Adebayor? The amount of goals from being able to understand the offside rule alone would have won us the title.
Oh yeah TJ, my bad, blame the NYE drinking.
well who cares if zlatan is this or that, hes playing for barcelona and anyone who is not sweedish or from balkan(and thus love him) would see that at the moment there are several strikes better than Zlatan, strikers that play well both for country and club team. strikers that play well when it matters. That can change a match( he change so much for sweeden did he not?) I am glad we do not have a boosted Ego like Zlatans in the club, he is ten times as bigheaded as Adebayor(ok he is alot better to ) However good or not, bigheaded people has no place in Arsenal. No one is bigger than the team, and Zlatan is bigger than any team he has ever played on(yeh he probably sees himself as the biggest star at Barca) So the strikes we sign, may not be individually as good as zlatan but will fit in better and thus make a better team out of Arsenal. Who gives a fuck about zlatan being best or not? Arsenal will crush his team in cl and fabregas will be player of the year next year. SO much for zlatan
Arsenal is on fire.we need trophies
No way is Ibra better than Drogba any tom, dick or harry could look good playing in Italy or wth the midfield that barcelona have. Ibra hasn’t won the ballon d’or and probably never will!
Thats right hig
Italy is a great league and strikers are worked far harder there so for ibra to score 28 last season playing some of the time as a lone front man was amazing
he is better than drogba in my opinion and how can anyone look good with barcas midfeild, the midfield can only play the ball if the forward will be there or read it so its more like saying ibra makes the midfield look so good
Well from the rumours we could have had Drogba also but let him go, so im glad to finally seeing us really having a go to get the best world class young players this Zezinho will definetly develope into a world beater under wengers tutelage …..
Hig: Chelsea’s midfield is possibly the second best in the world- Essien and Lampard are on a par with Xavi and Iniesta. Also yeah, it must be so easy to play in Italy, a league based on roots of great defending! He only had to play against the likes of Nesta, Chiellini, Kjaer and Zapata every week, and who are they compared to Titus Bramble and Phil Senderos? (A slant argument I know, it is supposed to be a joke.)
Anyway, Drogba will never score as beautiful a goal as Zlatan does 10 times a season, bar some nice free kicks. It is van Nistelrooy compared to Henry, 5 or 6 years on.
am I the only one who feels we have gotten rid of most of the big headed cuntfaces we just to have in abundance couple of years back? It seems to me that this group is much more loyal than say couple of years back. Of course you never know, I didn’t expect Flamini to screw us over like that despite having a history of it. I think Arshavin is mainly focused on HIS career but he still seems to love it here and has integrated so well with the rest of the squad. Look at the rest of the starting 11. Clichy, Song, Cesc and RvP just love this club. Sagna, Nasri and Diaby do as well, I think. I can see Vermalean spending the rest of his career here, Gallas is to old to screw with us and Almunia is too bad for anybody to want him.
Samuel: Essien is probably the best midfielder in the world but don’t even compare Lampard to Xavi and Iniesta. If you go with the whole midfield then we would have:
Barca: Busquet, Xavi, Iniesta
Cunts: Essien, Lampard, Ballack, Deco
Lampard and Ballack are still excellent but not even close to Iniesta and Xavi. Deco is useless but Essien is amazing. It’s not a coincidence Chelsea didn’t won the title last season. Their dive in form now didn’t come from the sky. It’s all down to Essien. He is their best player (him and Drogba, Top5 players in the world) and without him they are half a team. You might laugh if I say he’s as good as Messi but look at Barca without Messi and look at Chelsea without Essien. Barca easily cope without Messi, Chelsea win 2 in 8 or something.
But yeah, maybe Lampard and Essien do compare with them, but only because of Essien.

Im Swedish. You keep saying how great Zlatan could have been for us but he would have screwd us over. Mark my words, he is no team player what so ever. A real glory hunter. Belive me we didnt miss out half as much as we did on players like Essien, Makelele etc.
Great stuff here by the way!

What have u being drinking? Ibra over Drog? Never heard so much rubbish all my life.
S, WHO IS BETTER THAN,
There are players who will be better,
But who, at the moment , is better>
Actually, I will redact that comment,
Di Natale Is actually better, in my Opinion,
Shinji Okazaki, Fernando Torres, are possibly better, or at his standard aswell,
This topic about Zlatan and hw arsenal missed out is flawed and doesnt make sense, the fact that wenger was or is able 2 hv the fabregas’s/Clichy’s/van persie’s of this world its nt a right its a gamble that just paid off coz when players r @ their teens its hard 2 predict what future they will hv in game bt the fact tha wenger has been able 2 get these teenagers frm vitually unknws into superstars is an achievement that some of the greatest coaches can only dream of as i hv said banking on young is gamble and as with any gambling u win some and u lose some and u can never b 2 hard on yourself just bcoz u didnt win same as Zlatan even if he had signed 4 arsenal there is no evidence or there is no art of knwing what kind of player he would hv been, that is y it dont make sense talkin about what could have been
Diminutive?
Urgh.
Millz: Sorry but no, some players are destined to be superstars. You think they’d be less likely to become a world beater under Arsene Wenger, of all people? What site are you on?
Have you people who are saying I’ve been drinking ever really watched Ibra? And not just ‘well I once saw Inter play Liverpool (when they had a player sent off both games) and he didn’t impress and his team lost’ but actually watched him? He genuinely is the equivilant of Thierry in 2002/03. Works incredibly hard for the team, immaculate passer, perfect technique, faster than your mother, most ridiculous shot and deadly header of the ball- and is the only striker in the world to score goals from NOTHING, like Henry used to be able to do. And this is all with the bloody of a target man.
Now Drogba is obviously the third best striker in the world. His power alone makes him better than thousands. I just don’t think he has as much of that vital ability for the ABSOLUTE BEST to make you say ‘Wow’ and even be a retard and feel like you have to stand up in front of your telly and clap such audacity like Zlatan.
We’re competing with a group of rich old european men to buy a young south american boy. I think there’s something twisted about a group of individuals being able to buy someone and then rent him out to whoever offers the highest price.
Ibrahimovic does lack a bit of pace though, but makes up for it with silky skills and perfect control.
The Critic. Have you been playing too much FM or are you just out of your mind? Do you really think that a 23 year old striker who still plays in Japan is better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Of course you are allowed your opinion but this is just ridiculous. Why? Because he scored a hat-trick against Hong Kong? Btw. I didn’t know these facts, I had to look them up.
Zlatan, Drogba and Torres are IMO the three best strikers in the world. Who’s the best, I’m not quite sure but you see how much worse Drogba looks without Essien.

You are getting worse and worse mentioning Ibra in the same breath as Thierry Henry of 02/03. Nevermind a playmaker, please name a striker that can get 23 assists in a season. Ibra is a very good player but nothing more and certainly cannot be mentioned in the same breath a true football great. Did you really see Henry in the flesh rather than on TV? Where were you when 2nd rate defender like Senderos marked him out twice in the Champions league?
Not good enough mate, small an weak, not fast enough, no end product. Both wellington an this guy will NOT make it england
anything new about martin galvan and lui gil ?
Despite the annoying text chat, I agree with Milz. You get some and you loose some. In much the same way as we lost Zlatan, we got Bischoff. Both didn’t turn out well for us, but it shows we’re looking in the right places and are giving young talent chances.
The Critic always seems to come up with random names and claim they are world-beaters. I think he’s just trying to be original, which he is, but there is a reason why nobody who doesn’t play FM has heard of Shinji Okazaki. It’s because he’s done fu(k all. As for Zlatan, he’s a brilliant player with the ball at his feet, but this is often lost in games because he doesn’t fully know how to assert his authority in matches and get himself involved when his team-mates are struggling, although this is rarely, if ever, a problem at Barca.
All right, all right stop it guys. Who the hell cares?? look we got THE BEST playmaker in the world, we have a young player just itching to fill his shoes (Ramsey), we have the second coming of Van Basten, we have a better defender than Toure in Vermaelen, we have possibly a great winger or playmaker in Wilshere, I won’t say he’s another Messi yet…should I continue??? Come on!!! Be happy!!! All the players you guys are talking about are cunts (Drogba,Ibra,Ronaldo) It isn’t a coincidence that Wenger didn’t decide to sign them. Even Anelka. They are CANCEROUS TO A TEAM REGARDLESS OF THEIR TALENT!!! Ibrahi, ovic is nowhere near Henry by the way. I totally agree with what Jimmy said. People should not be allowed to “own” players, or any other people for that matter. This is in regard to the Zezinho issue. It is a bit like slavery as someone else mentioned.
More like pimping, Milo, those that sign choose to do so. Anyway, who’s to say that Drogba, Ibra and Ronaldo would be such (unts if they had been with us from a young age? That we missed out on them should be seen as something of a positive – at least we found them! We decided against Drogba, stalled on Ibra and agreed with Ronaldo, before Queiroz intervened. As long as we’re in the hunt, we’re doing fine.
Lilt, how often did you watch Zlatan at Inter?
If you watched a lot, you would realize that they played “ibracadabra” and played everythig through him… When Inter needed a win on the final day of Serie A in 2008, they brought on an injured Zlatan and he scored 2 goals to win a match they looked to be losing…
I would rather finish third than win the league with Drogba in our team. That fucking cunt can go die somewhere and not even his 8 children will miss him. He should have gotten a 10 games suspension for the “it’s a disgrace” yelling. Nobody should be allowed to talk about themselves that way in front of a camera.
That’s what I’m saying though Meyaggi. Inter relied on him so heavily that almost all their creative output went into looking for him, because he has the ability to turn a game when he has the ball. A truely great player would be able to assert that kind of influence on a game by finding the space that would make their team-mates pass to them, rather than having his manager order his players just to pump it up to him.

But you would rather have won the league than finish 3rd in 08 with Adebayor as our top scorer – the player who stamped on RVP (Surely worse than Drogba’s antics after the CL semi-final) and generally acted like such a (unt for so long. Personally I think Drogba is a better, more genuine guy than him, and if he’d risen from obscurity to stardom under Arsene’s wing would almost certainly have been better behaved. Look at Gallas since moving from Chelsea to Arsenal. He’s matured a huge amount, especially since his controversy peaked in November 08.
Chill out guys, what I meant ( sorry 4 not making this clear) is that Di Natale,Torres,Eto’o, Drogba,Ibrahimovic, have all done well at smaller clubs, then moved to better , bigger clubs, and become world beaters,
I meant Okazaki, Agbonlahor, Dzeko are all in this process, and , i think, can all play to an equal or better standard,
Ps. I dont play FM, havent played it since I was 12,
When else hav i tried to b original, im not, im just sharing an opinion , like u guys:)
The reason I dont play FM, Is because I prefer to actually play Football, more than playing a game,
Lit, his teammates did find him in space… Fact of the matter is, Inter are not good enough… Eto’o isn’t doing great at Inter either
Ibra had something like 13 assists last season at Inter and has 6 or 7 this year at Barça… He is a true great
Of course Eto’o isn’t doing great. His qualities are subdued in the slow pace of Serie A, and he, even more so than Ibra, struggles to lift the pace of a side by himself. The likes of Maradona, Henry, C.Ronaldo, Messi could all do that. Zidane’s brilliance was different – he didn’t need to raise the pace of a game, because he had the vision precision to intersect it, something that Xavi has been doing at Barca and that Cesc is emulating with us. Bergkamp did a similar job slightly higher up the field.
Just to put everyones mind at rest about Zezinho! He is not a diminuative winger.Hes a central m/f who plays in a midfield 3.
Raheem Sterling has said that he wants to join Arsenal because of the Gaffers record with young players.
Sean… tell us more. You sort of… seem to know. Uncanny.
Anyone that is hating on Ibrahimovic, i will like to direct you towards youtube to watch his goals from last season. Simply amazing. There are alot of good players in the world but very few of them can do things that are simply unbelievable. By the way, people should really lay off the whole performance for country thing because the fact is he plays for Sweden. If he played for Brazil or Spain of course he would win titles and stuff but you cant fault him because of his country. Everyone gives Ryan Giggs a free pass for his play for Wales.
Sean…Zezinho played striker for Brazil in the u17 world cup and he seems to be a winger for juventude.

You may consider me to be ‘hating’ on Ibrahimovic. You would be wrong in thinking that – I personally believe he is great player – but he does not rank amoung the Messis, Xavis and Henrys of this world. And don’t trust youtube for judging a player. I could make Diaby look better than Zidane on youtube. Ibrahimovic is capable of some truly stunning moments, but not so much when his side have their backs to the wall.

you keep saying Zlatan hasnt, when he clearly had over and over for inter…
and Eto’o isnt great in Serie A because of the slow pace, its because defenses are better in Serie A and Inter have a crap midfield
Eto’o is the type of player who needs service to be great, Ibra does not
Wellington,Coutinho and a lanky guy played up front for Brazil.Zezinho played in midfield.Raheem Sterling has said that he wants to move to Arsenal because he has seen that if you are good enough you are old enough at Arsenal. It is also thought that Liam Brady has spoken to QPR,Raheem and his parents about the move.
Zezinho has already told his friends that he will sign for Arsenal.
I am happy to know that we are signing world class youth but we are losing arsenal blood. The first team has too few englishmen and arsenal blood in it. Now it seems like our youth setup will go similar way. Players who is brought in to youth sides don’t have as much patient and will consider a move when they think they are world class. Just watch Merida.
