Vote – Young Guns Reserves & Youth Awards 09-10

The 2009-2010 season is now well and truly over. With attention now beginning to turn to the rapidly approaching new campaign, we’re holding our annual Reserves and Youth player awards. In what’s proved to be another successful year, Steve Bould’s Under 18’s are again League Champions, while Neil Banfield’s Reserves finished second in Reserves League South.

The coaching staff will no doubt be impressed with the improvements in the various teams, but the real judgement comes in which youngsters make the first-team. Craig Eastmond was the huge surprise, stepping up from average full back to promising central midfielder while Francis Coquelin ultimately made the reverse switch. Kyle Bartley, Thomas Cruise and Gilles Sunu all made their Champions League debuts, and Jack Wilshere continued his development with more game time before leaving for Bolton.

So to the awards. There are six categories and six awards up for grabs, in different sections and aspects of the Reserves & Youth system. They were as follows;

Under 18 Player Of The Year –
Reserve Team Player Of The Year –
Loanee Of The Year –
Signing Of The Year –
Break Through Starlet For Next Year –
Overall Player Of The Year –

Voting is open until midnight on Sunday 6th of June. Please use the survey below to cast your votes;

    My Vote goes for Chukwuemeka Aneke, He is the most improved young gunner in this season.
    I hope he makes it at the first team in 2 years time.

    Gotto say this but seeing how Wenger has f….d Walcott up in 4 years after spending 8 mill plus wages on a 1 trick pony, any young English pro with choices shud bid leave sharpish. No english player from arsenal at world cup is a disgrace with 11 foreign nationals. Is this arsenal fc or wenger fc plus hes won nowt in 6 year. in wenger we trust…….. mugs

      mugs??? bruva your the mug seriously your so flat minded. wenger aint ruined any player ever! walcott was a late bloomer, every young player always has a bad season or a bad patch in there career when ther just getting to grips. walcotts would of been 3 years ago bt hes had so much injurys that he cant improve when hes not playing! last season was his glitch. second half of next season your be eating ya words coz three years from now he will be MASSIF! then you can rember my name and kiss my shoes bitch… also wenger may have not won anything, bt he has done everything positive apart from win anything wich is alot more than chelsea, villa pool or even utd. ten years time were be the richest club in europe with a fantasic stadium and best training ground in the world. its all wenger that!!!

    If anyone deserves an award its…J

    Work rate 10/10
    Validity 9/10
    Consistency 10/10

    At this rate Barca et all might try and start tapping you up son…LOL

    Now…Henri Lansbury has been the overall player of the year in terms of sheer consistency and growth but i regard him as a 1st team player. Simlilar cases with Jack Wilshere and JET.

    In terms of our resos’ and u18’s Chuks get my vote each time! and i hear he wasnt always a valued member of our academy or at least he wasnt expected to progress this well (perhaps due to his often languid style) Well done 2 Benik aswell continuing 2 prove the doubters wrong.

    Lansbury appeared 40+ times for Watford last year. He looks such a better player now an dI think he will edge out Denilson and possibly Diaby out of the team purely on work rate

    I give chuks my overall vote, but i voted luke in one of the categories. I like Luke Freeman a lot. He works hard everytime i see him. He reminds me of a RVP, just a stronger version. If he continues I can see him in the first team.

    I thought Craig Eastmond was our player of the season given where he started the season as right back who i thought was a weak link in our FA youth cup team to being fairly regularly on the bench for premier games and playing really well in the carling cup.

    VERY tricky choice for the Loanee of the Year Award. On one hand you have Szcznesy, who although once or twice struggled, has at times shone on the pitch, what has to be said though is that it was at a meagre League One level. On the other hand, you have Lansbury and JET who went to the Championship. On paper, Lansbury was a regular and consistent enough to sustain his place in the team, whereas JET made more goals in 20 odd games than Lansbury in an entire season of 40+ games. Then you have Jack who did quite well at Premiership level, albeit not playing many games.

    got to be eastmond for his achivements in 1 year… this time last year he was a happy right back with 2 u18 trothies. 1 year on he’s swiched to the hardest role on the pitch for 2 stages above u18s. now this kid aint happy unless hes beaten (the mighty) alex song to his posish! what an achivment! and hes englesh :D

    My vote for the Under 18 Player Of The Year -goes to Nicholas Yennaris since after his 10 month injury in 2008/09 he was a leading figure in the 2009/10 campaign and as a captain he raised the trophy in the final !
