Loanees: Ramsey Struggles As Botelho And Lansbury Star

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Henri Lansbury played the full 90 minutes for Norwich City as they beat Coventry City 3-1. Lansbury was involved in Norwich’s opening goal, being part of a move that led to Grant Holt scoring his first of two goals.

Aaron Ramsey played the final 16 minutes of Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. Ramsey came on and slotted straight into central midfield, but struggled to get involved. Billy Davies spoke after the game, telling the media he was reluctant to play Aaron due to the poor pitch conditions.

Vito Mannone played the full 90 minutes and kept another clean sheet as Hull City beat Bristol City 2-0. Mannone was largely untroubled, but did enough to put off Jon Stead in the final moments, as he blazed a close range shot over.

Kyle Bartley played the full 90 minutes at centre back as Sheffield United ended their poor run of form with a 1-0 win over Swansea. Bartley turned in a brilliant display, winning several headers and tackles.

Sanchez Watt was not included in the Leeds United squad that beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0.

Benik Afobe was not in action this weekend as Huddersfield Town’s fixture was postponed.

Cédric Evina was not in action this weekend as Oldham Athletic’s fixture was postponed.

Thomas Cruise was not in action this weekend as Carlisle United’s fixture was postponed.

Mark Randall will return to Rotherham on Monday after recovering from a broken cheek bone.

Gavin Hoyte was not in action this weekend as Lincoln City’s fixture was postponed.

Francis Coquelin played the full 90 minutes for Lorient as they were thrashed 3-0 by Toulouse. Coquelin returned to the team in his usual holding midfield role, but struggled to make an impression as Lorient were easily defeated.

Armand Traoré played the final moments of Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Chievo. Traoré, who played well against Manchester City in the Europa League in midweek, replaced Simone Pepe in stoppage time.

Nacer Barazite played the final 21 minutes of Vitesse Arnhem’s 1-1 with NAC Breda. Barazite came off the bench in place of striker Marcus Pedersen.

Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes for FC Cartagena as they beat Las Palmas 5-2. Botelho turned in another classy shift, drawing a booking and then playing a part in two goals, one in-directly, the other directly, crossing from the wing for the fifth goal.

Samuel Galindo was not in action this weekend as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken ankle.

It’s great to see a number of our players starting games now. Hopefully some of these boys come back more driven than before. I think that Mannone will say goodbye to us at the end of the year though. Number 1 at Hull or sale-bait at Arsenal?

didn’t they just get Special Talent Work Permit (or whatever it’s called) like we got for Song and Denilson.

Mexico is in North America. Hernandez (and Vela) are North American… not central American and certainly not SOUTH American.

Hernandez played a significant amount of games with his national side, so it was easy for him to get a permit.

the hernandez situation shows why perhaps it is smarter to sometimes buy young players who are not under age of 18-19 as they have had time to not only develop a lot already but also to join the national teams and get work permit easier.

I disagree, the younger you can get them the better.

If you wait until they’re 19-20 they will be more expensive, they won’t qualify as homegrown in future, and it will be more difficult to train them up to play the Arsenal way.

I worry for Nacer, if he does not command a starting place in dutch team i dont know how he will ever manage to get on at Arsenal.

JS is botelho playing as a left winger now?

I look at arsenals first team we lack wingers who can dribble past players.

In my opinion against teams like chelsea, man utd you need pace and we shouldnt be relying on our full backs

Been away working, so only just seen the demolition of Darlington. Very impressed with Aneke & Afobe, especially their link-up play, an understanding i think we’ll see in the 1st team in the near future. Many of our ‘Kids’ look like men already. hopefully another talented crop coming off of the conveyor.
Shame about Wellington, do you have any further news ‘J’ ?

I can see Lansbury being sold as he will not play him instead of the garbage we got in Song, Denilson and Diaby.

Shame really. It is another lad who has been loaned out for about 3 seasons and never given a run like Jay Simpson.

Same with Bartley. He’ll be loaned out for another season after this yet AW will be happy with Koscielny!

All young British talent get loaned out at 17-20 yet AW generally persists with the young foreign lads.

Song garabage? yeah just because you are english you deserve a chance…….

You think a player who wasn’t even that f
great for watford is now better than diaby (who had the whole world chasing after him at 19), song (who had a successful loan at charlton and denilson (who…..dunno what to say)?

Or wenger mistreats other english players like cole and gibbs? But yeah, he’ll persist with foreigners like walcott whilst letting english talent like vela rot on the bench.

Barcelona do it the right way most of thier young guys break through at 21,22.

Arsenal fans are fixed on certain players not coming through.

Wenger even said randall still has a chance.

Its about luck, getting that break.

Lansbury was outstanding against coventry from what i gather from a coverntry fan its not just technically hes good hes a a battler, tackler, fighter you need those players in your squad.

Bartley is 19 hes got so many years in front of him. He will be a class act

Mexico is indeed North America. Oddly, if you look at their culture and society, comparing with their neighboors from north and south.

From what I’ve seen of Bartely he looks to be a very solid player. Anyone know if he’ll have much of a chance in the Gunners first team next season? Or just the future in general?

wenger has said he sees lansbury as the new ray parlour so i do believe he will give him ago but that this is the problem with bringing and producing loads of talented youngsters 2 out of 10 will be given their chance whereas the others won’t
