Loanees: Miyaichi & Coquelin Bag Goals

Welcome to this weekends loanees watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Carlos Vela came off the bench to play the final 18 minutes of West Brom’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea. Vela replaced James Morrison on the left of a five man midfield and looked dangerous in the closing stages. He first won a free-kick after a foul by John Terry, then he skipped down the wing and crossed for Chris Brunt, who headed straight at the ‘keeper.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was not included in Cardiff City team that beat Portsmouth 3-0, due to Football League rules. Emmanuel-Thomas may have scored in midweek, but a ban on more than five on loan players being used in one squad saw him miss the final cut.

Henri Lansbury came off the bench to play the final 30 minutes of Norwich City’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest. Henri made a positive impact after coming on, creating two goal scoring chances for Simeon Jackson with through balls. He almost grabbed one for himself, though, but his stoppage time effort was easy for Lee Camp.

Vito Mannone played the full 90 minutes as Hull City beat Doncaster Rovers 3-1. The Italian only returned to full fitness in midweek, but turned in a solid shift in The Tigers goal, as their promotion push continues.

Sanchez Watt missed Leeds United’s 2-2 draw with Watford through injury.

Craig Eastmond was not included in the Millwall team that lost 2-1 to Coventry.

Benik Afobe started and played 86 minutes of Huddersfield Town’s 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

Mark Randall was not included in the Rotherham United team that drew 0-0 with Hereford United.

Ryo Miyaichi played the full 90 minutes and scored twice as Feyenoord beat Willem II 6-1. Miyaichi helped the Rotterdam outfit come from behind, with an assist for Luc Castaignos, before scoring from close range to put the hosts in front. Ryo then bagged another assist, before turning home from close range for Feyenoord’s sixth and final goal.

Francis Coquelin played 82 minutes and scored the winner as Lorient beat Rennes 2-1. Coquelin turned home from close range in the 62nd, for what proved to be the winner. Gilles Sunu came off the bench to play the final six minutes.

Armand Traoré was an unused substitute as Juventus drew 0-0 with Fiorentina

Wellington Silva was not included in the Levante team that beat Hercules 2-1.

Pedro Botelho missed Cartagena’s 5-0 defeat to Real Betis through suspension.

Samuel Galindo was an unused substitute as UD Salamanca lost 1-0 to Las Palmas.

The sooner we get Ryo the better. I am sorry but I know Walcott is meant to be striker but surely he must know how to do basic things such as cross or move past a player without using his pace because doing those things is key for a wideman.

Ryo isn’t ready for the PL. I’ve seen quite a lot of him recently, and although he makes a good impression, he’s still a lightweight and could do with more match experience. And what i’ve seen from him, Walcott is miles ahead still.

I think you’re right about ryo, and walcott is certainly miles ahead at the moment. The amazing thing about miyaichi, thought, is that these are his first 10 professional appearances, and he’s doing incredibly well. Theo was nowhere near as good for a number of years, so this is really promising.

I agree with you, but at the same time I feel that he’s ready to play in an harder championship. It would be awesome to loan him in Italy or Spain for another season.

I realyy hope we can an exceptional talent visa for him and get him playing next season cause he looks like he coupld serously make the grade in england. Qiuck and can dribble can shoot too. Gull backs will hate playing against him.

Wow, 2 goals and 2 assists in a 6-goal blitz is amazing. I’ve tried to control my hype for him in recent months, but my word, I’m struggling here.

i want mannone, bartley, coquelin, lansbury and botelho back next season…miyaichi can wait. it’s rare for a loan club to trust a loanee as much as feyenoord do with miyaichi. we should take advantage if that and let him develop in peace.

arshavin is not fading – arsene wenger has maginalised him and ruined him.

a player like arshavin should be at the heart of the attack. fabregas should be playing for arshavin, not the other way round.

wenger has built his team around some talents and he has excluded and marginalised others. not great management.

      Such bollocks.
Even the Russian media have turned against him, based on his recent international performances. And that’s for a squad that’s built around him.

Oh yes, Wenger has ruined Arshavin to the point where he’s only got 10 goals and 17 assists this season. (sarcasm)

Gunner17, have you been asleep all season?

Wenger played Arshavin through the worst form probably of his career, he was bloody awful.

He constantly picked him despite not deserving to start, he hasn’t ruined him or marginalised him, Arshavin just isn’t that good a player anymore.

Delighted for Ryo, he really seems to love Feyenoord and the fans love him.

But the Dutch league is piss poor, and it will take a long while to adapt to the league to get the most out of, but sub appearences and cup games for a year or two will do him a world of good, or maybe a loan to a good Spanish team next season even, although i would be sad for the Feyenoord fans to lose him after giving him such a good opportunity to shine.

The Eredivisie is no Premier League, but it’s not “piss poor.” I’d compare it to somewhere along Championship/League One level, with more skill and less physicality.

Assuming AA hasn’t dropping physically due to age, he’s still top class. Form in temporary and all that. The situation for AA at the moment is 1. our team is in a funk, our tactics are stale; and 2. used out wide he’s a counter attacker, not a lock picker (every time he touched the ball today he was double teamed and we don’t switch play fast enough these days to pull the defense around. When the defense is at 6s and 7s, that’s when AA is a matador. He’s got to be around next season to give us options, as AW has absolutely got to solve the problem of tired players vs a parked bus and aggressive defending.

Yes, Ryo has a good corner kick in him. He has made a few goals for Feyenoord that way. The ball suddenly drops at the first post and when players time their run well they can take good advantage.
And for their second goal he gave the ball a bit further and the defence was posted more forward. So good distribution

Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The Gloomers and Doomers whining chorus and Anti-Wenger mob are here again…..Walcott ,Arshavin,Cesc, Jack, Ryo, etc. are or will all be ruined by Wenger’s ¨bad¨management and poor people skills! Arsenal are shite and will NEVER be any good or win anything again!
Give this incessant offal a break you weathervane fans. We are still 2nd with a mathematical chance to pip Manure at the post if we can take 14 of the next 16 points…entirely possible.
Lets lay off the judging and bitching on every site regardless if it has anything to do with Wenger or not.
Miyachi is just one of a dozen talents coming up or back from loan from the reserves so it is looking better every season. Enjoy the beautiful Football we play and be patient…save your whining for the end of the season…you’ll have all summer to moan and groan….even if we manage to win the EPL.

Wingers in Dutch Football generally do well in the Premier League. It’s the strikers that struggle. Robben and Park Ji Sung come to mind and when Ryan Babel played on the wing he was very good until Benitez ruined him. Miyaichi is quick enough to do some damage in our league.

ryo lightweight at 6′? i wouldnt mind him being our sub next season. if he can jump from schoolboy football to dutch league why not the epl. if wenger can bring him in the summer with castaignos wouldnt be a bad thing. then we will have 2 brilliant subs instead of arshavin and bendtner.

Being 6ft doesnt make you a heavyweight, but height is one of the biggest deciding factors in your overall bodyweight, being an extra inch tall can be the difference of a couple of pounds.

Have to agree with you there.

Nobody would’ve talked about it if we won but I couldn’t understand why the Bendtner change was made if it wasn’t to change the formation. He provides less than Walcott can on the wing.

chamack in any case is a better winger than bendtner coz he has more pace andis good defensively.bendtner is a specialist striker with no pace and should only be played behind the lead striker.bad tactic to move nasri in and play bendtner wide.

Ryo to replace Rosicky next season! Even though he is incrdibly unexperienced and may not deal well with the physicality of the premier league surely he will have a bigger affect on the game than Tommo

I must say, I have much admiration for Wenger and no body could do the job he does but some decisions puzzle me. For one, if we are going to play with only one striker and 3 attackers then our players need to fit that. It is stupid 2 have 5 strikers for 1 spot and a couple of them are average at best. Bendtner should not becoming on as a winger. The other thing that I don’t get is why we never change tactics during the game. Why not go 4-4-2 with Song and Fab in the middle, Nasri and Arshavin wide and the 2 strikers up top if you are going to bring Bendtner on?

On Ryo, it is a bit crazy to expect him to be ready for our first team next year but you never know. The kid definitely has talent though.

That’s probably the most negative thing you’ve ever said about Wenger and i guess it just goes to show just how many of his supporters’ patience has begun to wear thin. I used to love Wenger. For me, he could do no wrong and i was almost as blind as some of the akb’s out there. Then i realised what mindset he took about three years ago and that was the final straw for me – he was so intent on proving the world wrong and showing them he was right (just like he did with the invincibles) that he began detrimenting AFC and our chances of success through his sheer ignorance and stubbornness. This, whether you guys like hearing it or not, is very counter-productive and has already caused us sooooo much pain and, worst of all, embarrassment! I’m sure i’m not the only Gooner out there who has noticed the tide is rapidly turning against AW and even the akb’s have began changing their views. This is only a good thing – i assure you all. Wenger is a genius! No doubt about that. But he is sadly flawed as well. He won’t last long unless something drastically changes. I can’t see his ignorance allowing him to do such a thing unfortunately.

I agree for the most part. I don’t like all the negativity that Arsenal and Arsene gets but some things are starting to get to me a little. There is still no man fit better to lead Arsenal forward. My true worry though is that once we pay off the stadium, will wenger get stuck in this bargain buy mode. Also I worry that if we did sell Fabregas for a lot of money, I don’t think we will replace him with the cash. I just feel we are so close that letting obvious things hold us back is a bit frustrating. All in all, Wenger deserves more praise than anything but IMO he does need to be brought back to reality by another footballing brain because their are obvious issues with the team and the truth is none of them have to do with our keeper or the back 4. Honestly if the owners say we have money to spend then Wenger needs to add the quality we need to push us over the hump. Could you imagine if we just added a guy like Hulk, Falcao for our 2nd class striker, and a quality defensive mid (Song can’t play every game), plus that would allow Song to also be the 4th choice CB just in case. We would win the league easy. Now if they truly don’t have money then they need to stop letting Wenger take the bullet and I will accept that. Just get the story straight.

I scd TJ DA GOON there its d first time shane typed something like this, i also respect wenger alot but if he keeps going this line we can only respect him less.Arsenal shouldnt be the club where upcoming talent show there skill or acquire experience that is why there is the loan deal. The silly mistakes u make as an inexperienced player should be made why on loan e.g Danny welbeck is getting all the playing time at sunderland & can only be a better player for the mancs if they need him but he will be first team player if he is at the grove. We are a laughing stock all across the world wenger please things must change
