Nacer Barazite – Derby County 0-2 Ipswich Town
Nacer Barazite started in his usual right wing position as the Rams took on ambitious Ipswich Town, looking to shake off their mixed form in recent weeks.
Jordan Stewart and Darren Ambrose exchanged headers in the early stages, before Pablo Counago punished terrible Derby defending with half an hour gone, to make it 1-0. Barazite was fantastic – his free kick was nearly headed in by Addision, a wing cross was then nearly flicked home by Hulse.
However, the goals didn’t come, and in the second half they were punished. Slack defending was the cause, as a cross was not dealt with, and Jonathan Walters slotted home at the back post.
Armand Traoré – Portsmouth 2-2 Hull City
Armand Traoré played the final 32 minutes of Portsmouth’s hard fought draw over Hull City.
A powerful start from Pompey brought a goal from Peter Crouch, but after failing to add to the advantage, Hull pegged them back with a header from Michael Turner.
A wonder strike from Glenn Johnson made it 2-1, yet late on, pressure from Dean Windass saw Noe Pamarot turn into his own net. Windass was then booked for a terrible kick at Traoré as he brought the ball out, but the Frenchman’s afternoon brought little.
Abu Ogogo – Barnet 1-3 Macclesfield Town
Abu Ogogo started at right back for Barnet, as they took on Macclesfield Town at Underhill.
A scrappy first half brought little from either outfit. Ogogo’s only action came from taking throw in’s, until he lost his clean sheet on 15 minutes. Gritton handed Macclesfield the lead.
John O’Flynn stuck for the hosts with an hour on the clock, but just as they seemed content with a point, it was snatched from them. Francis Green and Nat Brown with quick fire strikes condemned Barnet to defeat.
Kerrea Gilbert – Leicester City 2-1 Scunthorpe United
Kerrea Gilbert was not included in the Leicester City squad for their table topping clash with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.
Lloyd Dyer put the visitors in front on 22 minutes, Paul Hayes equalised shortly after. The Foxes wrapped up the points with 9 minutes left, a lovely strike from Welsh youngster King.
Pedro Botelho – UD Salamanca V CF Elche
Pedro Botelho will start tomorrow afternoon as UD Salamanca take on relegation threatened Elche, looking to cement their place at the top of the League.

any chance bazarite being called back now that walcott is injured?and what impact can he make?
Gavin Hoyte’s touch was awful, we didnt cross the ball enough, we played thru the middle too much like many games this year. We need to vary our play when teams clog the middle against us. BUT Arsenal For Life even though i am furious
What about Nordtveit? He played for Norwegian against Iraq, wasn’t he?
Like wenger said previously, the pressure of getting 3 points at weekends is not the same as playing in the CC, so get real, players like especially Nordviet & other defenders are 5 yrs before being considered seriouly for PL & CL.
Nordtveit isn’t registered to play until the 1st January, which is why he hasn’t featured for the reserves since being recalled.
Wenger being his usual stingy self, our options for the wing will depend on a recall for Barazite or Traore.
Both have their merits, though I would prefer that Traore is brought back and Nasri switches to RW. The advantage is twofold- Traore has PL experience, and playing him ahead of Clichy will give some defensive solidity and a back up to Clichy when he runs forwards, leaving our left side exposed
RAJ, Wenger is not stingy & the players that u referring to as options are not ready for the pressure of getting 3 points every week in PL & CL, just look at Bendtner, Diaby & Denilson and they are the latest CC graduates into reliable 1st team members but they struggling to cope.
Regardless of the merits of bringing back Traore or Barazite, Wenger doesn’t believe in calling players back from loan early unless they aren’t getting reasonable playing time. Other than Nordveit I don’t think he has ever called a player back early in fact.

Why call them back if you are not going to play especially when loan specifies that unless you are ridiculously short in the position which you have loaned a player then we will be allowed to register them straight away.
Also Arsene didnt recall Nordveit, he spat his dummy bcuz he wasnt playing, typical description of what Gallas is saying, majority of our young players think life is easy & they can get what they want without fighting for it, what a brat. Hard work and desire to suceed is as important as technique if you want to be successful at all levels.

supergunner I didn’t think those posts were yours, for a start you seem literate.
I didn’t know that about Nordveit I’d just assumed he had been called back because he wasn’t playing. That only means Wenger has never called back anyone at all though. My point is regardless of whether you think there is merit in recalling either player, and for the record I don’t, it doesn’t matter anyway because it won’t happen. Neither player can be recalled until January to the best of my understanding and Barazites loan ends then anyway. I really like both players but its difficult to see them making much impact when we already have the likes of Ramsey and Vela hardly playing and Wilshere not playing at all. The only argument that can be made in my eyes is Traore has at least some premiership experience and could be a like for like replacement for Walcott, specifically his pace which the team lacks, but you’re more likely to see Diaby or Denilson on the wing anyway so again whats the point?
Traore is a fair point because the opposition are playing so defensively narrow, we need someone who will cross the ball an has pace to stretch the defence of the opposition apart. and create gaps for us play combination and triangle football that we love.
