Levante Agree To Re-Sign Wellington On Loan

Levante have agreed to re-sign Brazilian forward Wellington Silva on loan. The 18-year-old spent the final six months of last season in Valencia, but is set to move for the whole of the next campaign.

Silva is due in Spain tomorrow afternoon for a medical, where he will then join the rest of the squad at their training base in La Manga. Talks are still ongoing with the Gunners over Pedro Botelho.

Wellington has struggled with a number of personal problems since signing officially in January, and has already had one appeal for a work permit rejected.

he”ll be ok once he gets game time. The new manager will help. Always felt the old manager was picking on him or something. That said he does seem to have a bit of an aggressive attitude about him, but has a good turn of pace and trickery about him..

Jamie, question about Botelho, has he not gained a spanish passport yet? Why is he not with the team trying to merge into this pre-season?

It looks like Pedro has not yet received panish citizenship. Hopefully he will get it soon and could join us mid-season.

The new coach seems to really rely on Wellington. Nice change. Maybe with the belief of the coach he will enjoy a good season. A good season, he could come back into the Brazil U21 team, and get a visa.

I thought you can claim spanish citizenship after 2 years. Pedro has been there for 3 seasons now. why are they not giving him a chance.

It’s two years if you have spanish descendence. Like Galindo or Vela, who were born in ex-spanish colonies. Brazil was a portuguese colony, so Botelho don’t have this privilege.

Good. He’s obviously got bags of talent and hopefully he has realized that he has to work hard to fulfill his potential.

He’s still an exciting talent in my eyes.

In all fairness a manager tries to do what’s best for his team so he must of felt playing Wellington wouldn’t have helped the team but despite that I’m happy the new manager seems keen on Wellington and can help him progress and shine by giving him his vote of confidence because lets face it he has a lot of quality so nurtured by the right person he could be a superstar

You could tell in the 20 minutes he played in the last game that he was better then almost all the Levante attackers.

I thought the main problem with him last season was that he would spend more time playing with his phone than training.

Even Wenger should give him the hairdryer treatment if thats the case.

I’ve always looked forward to seeing this guy in action for us but last few months have made me think very indifferent about him.

wenger must have serious intentions for this kid if he is agreeing to send him out to a top division side again…

he must want him to get used to playing top level football quickly.

This kid is legit, I am telling you. He just needs to be under a proper coach who is not going to condemn for every little issue. You have to teach these kids not just cast them off. If coaches did that the Neymar would not be where he is right now. I really hope he gets real playing time next year because he is a special talent.

I hope Arsenal make a measured imput in Wellington’s new contract with Lavante otherwise this young player’s talent will be wasted + Arsenal’s investment’s will fall in value.

Playing time, positioning and support is vital. Arsenal should request a monthly progress report, together with video evidences.

Seems like welly and botelho are.spending next season away from the club. i know ryo is on tour but i cannot.see him getting a special talent visa no matter how he plays in asia and how many pictures we put of him on the website. but what of galindo? he seems to get the least coverage yet internationally is the most recognised isnt he involved with bolivia at some level as.we.speak?

I know most reports are not true but I sure in the hell hope this stuff about Stuart Downing is false. 18 million for a soon to be 27 year old winger. His prime years are almost up…we might get 2 good years out of him if we are lucky.
