Nordtveit, Hoyte For Blackburn + Luke Freeman Video

Reserves Skipper Havard Nordtveit

The first team are in action tomorrow night in the Monday night football against Blackburn at the Emirates Stadium, but Arsene Wenger confirmed in his press conference on Friday his side are missing 11 players, he even suggested Kolo Toure could be involved

Wenger Told Arsenal.com

“Overall we are very, very short and it is down to the bare bones.”

The Under 18’s played yesterday beating Southampton 5-2, Havard Nordtveit and Gavin Hoyte both regulars for the Reserves and both fit, did not feature, so with the mass injury situation would Wenger consider giving the two young prospects a chance, even put them on the bench?

Havard was expected to be involved in Carling Cup duty this season after being given the number 35 shirt after he was signed from FK Haugesund in the summer for around £2 million.

After a bright start and being named skipper of the Reserves, he picked up an injury, and missed 3 months of the season by the time he was back and ready to perform Arsenal were out of the competition, Gavin Hoyte took his place on the bench, and has been around the first team for a couple of seasons, Nacer Barazite scored a hat-trick, he could also be involved to make up numbers on the bench, but lets wait and see.

Luke Freeman Video

Now many people have been asking about video’s of our new signing Luke Freeman, and after abit of searching around i have finally found one courtesy of You-Tube.

Its not very long, but you can just make him out, at the start he comes rushing forward and has a left footed shot which hits the fence, ill warn you there is some bad language in the video from some of the kids around him, if you can not see the video below click Here

    Hi, great website.

I’m sorry to say this because I appreciate the good work you put into this site and it’s very appreciated but I find incorrect usage of apostrophes so annoying, especially when used in journalism.

Apostrophes have nothing to do with plurals or the letter ‘s’. They are only used for abbreviations and making it clear that something is owned by something else.

All of the following are correct:

1960s, videos, taxis, dos and don’ts, that’s, van Persie’s left foot, all the boot’s studs were clean.

Personally I don’t have a clue why people are finding them so difficult to use correctly. They seem to make up the rules as they go along and randomly add them whenever a word ends with an ‘s’. Apostrophes are not linked in any way to an ‘s’ and just because a word ends in one or is plural, it doesn’t mean there should be an apostrophe. If a word that shows possession of something but is plural ends in an ‘s’, you simply add the apostrophe afterwards instead of before it, like if multiple boots have clean studs then “all the boots’ studs were clean”.

Also people have a strange habit of adding an apostrophe to decades, “like in the 1960’s”. There’s no reason to do that, it’s simply 1960s.

Nothing personal, I say it to everyone (since basically no one uses them right).

Arsenal still have the team that can beat blackburn easily tmrw although all the big stories saying we are at the limit of “bare bones”.

Lehmann, Clichy, Hoyte, Gallas, Sagna, Hleb, Flamini (he will play), Fabregas, Ecuardo, Walcott, Adebayor.

Walcott and Adebayor can link up very well, as adebayor can win high balls and walcott who is small and quick can stay close to him and pick those headers and run towards opponent’s goal and SCORE!!

Ecuardo can play at wings very well and can be a treat!

Hoyte can come in for Senderos as he played well there as he played before.

Plus Senderos, Flamini*, Eboue and Toure will be fully fit for the next game..Diaby can make it too.

So why many of these articles claiming we are at the “bare bone” stage and seems like the dooms-day for Arsenal and they will struggle..bullshit!

We will have almost a full fit squad by the next game, so no fear Gooners, we can beat Blackburn with our “bare bone” situation team.

Toure and Eboue can start on the bench rather than rushing them straight in the team, which will be too much for both of them. They might have a bad game because of tiredness and we can lose important points as Man Utd lost againts a team that we beat easily in their home ground last week..what a shame!

Title is ours and we should worry more about Chelsea than Man Utd cse they are having a good run altho the blip againts Reading.

5 points advantage is there for Arsenal to grab!
ARSENAL ROCKS AND WILL WIN THE TITLE ALL THE WAY!!

Lets not get carried away the points are in the bag.

Perhaps the reason for Man U and Chelsea not winning is the international break.

Toure to start tomorrow, you are having a laugh..

he needs some rest, and should not train with the team until Thursday, did you see the mistake he made in the semi final.

Really good blog; a different angle to the Arse. Something I find disturbing, though, is that you’ve got a video of school kids mucking around at lunch. We’re all curious about young Luke, but it’s a bit disturbing to know people are filming him at school (even if it is just a schoolmate with a camera phone). The kid isn’t even a professional player yet; give him a bit of privacy.

I think you should give the apostraphe guya break. Apostraphes do change the meaning of the words why use them at all if you’re not using them correctly?

    Good blog.

p.s. apostrahpes in years aren’t actually wrong they’re just not necessary.

The apostrophe thing that gets me is the use of one after a noun that ends in s. For example, there is a road just outside the old ground at Highbury called St. Thomas’s Road. I know it doesn’t matter a lot but it is irritating to see people write St. Thomas’ Road.

It does raise the interesting question though on whether using correct language really matters.
