Wenger Puts Buy Back Clauses On Players Sold

Could Players Like Quincy Come Back? Picture From The F.A.com

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he often try’s to put buy back clauses in the promising young players contracts when/if they are sold to other clubs.

Wenger Said:

“Sometimes I try and put a buy-back clause in the deals when I know they will be players – but sometimes that it is a bit unfair on them because after letting them go you should give them the chance to go where they want to go.

“It is difficult, but I think as well that there is enough of a link that you could persuade the player to come back anyway.”

Former Reserves Quincy Owusu Abeyie, David Bentley and Steve Sidwell are all thought to have had clauses added to their contracts upon signing for a new club’s after showing potential in their early days with the Gunners.

So what do you think ? should players ever go back? would you welcome them back? and which players would you like back?

Argh I posted yesterday about incorrect apostrophes and you’ve done it again!
    “try’s”
    “tries”*

What do you think the purpose of the apostrophe is?

This article is quite misleading. The headline says he does add buy-back clauses when if you quote him entirely I think he says he never has. Please don’t go down the line of those worse sites than this who post stuff which isn’t even true for hits.

On the topic though I’d have Bentley back.

if there is a cheap buy back option for Bentley maybe wenger should use it. I think £6-8m would be fair. I dont know how much he was sold for but I am sure it was a lot less than that. looks like he will be an England regular but I wonder if he could handle the level that Arsenal play at week in week out rather than producing excellent performances once every 2 or 3 weeks.

I know Bentley has been a real knob of late by spurting crap like ‘he had lost his love for football at Arsenal’ but i always wanted to see him make it … he pissed off 1 year too early cos bobby was out of the door soon after and Reyes never made it. Quincy looked promising in the ACN but i would much rather have Vela i liked the look of Barazite too so out of all the players we’ve let go i only really regret Bently not making it

Just a question here.. I thought Quincy was dutch. Though Bentley is promising I dont think I would welcome him back ,because basically hes a prick.

To Lebenglese, Barazite’s more of a striker isn’t he? I’ve always been confused as to what Barazite actually is, I’ve hear from some sources that he’s a forward and others saying he is an attacking midfielder.

Anyway, if there’s anyone I want to come back to Arsenal, it would have to be Larsson. I really liked him, despite only seeing him a couple of times and he is really showing his talent now for Birmingham. The other possibility is Larsson’s team mate, Muamba. I like his style; strong, tough and has got good vision. If he were to come back, I’d like to see him as backup to Flamini. I prefer Song in defence.

I would like Sidwell back, Diarra has left & Gilberto will leave too, we might sign Esteban Granero from Getafe, he is an awesome player.

If you read the article, Wenger says he’s got buy-back clauses, but he’d never use them because he “wants to give the player a choice”. That’s what I love about the guy; he’s the only manager in the league who’d treat players like people with their own ambitions, not just automatons with expensive WAGs and bad taste.

namo – second for Reyes, I believe he left because of TH14, and now Henry is not around anymore, he will be our left midfield…
