Arsenal Striker Abdulla Joins West Ham On Trial

Arsenal striker Ahmed Abdulla scored on his debut for West Ham after the Saudi Arabian striker joined the club on a two week trial.

The school boy rejected the scholarship terms offered to him by Liam Brady in January, in a deal we told you about first, after problems with his agent, and initially joined Tottenham in a deal that saw Jason Banton return to the club, but has now switched to the Hammers who are currently short of Youth strikers.

Under 18’s Coach Tony Carr speaking with the clubs official website said:

“He has been training for a week, he is only a schoolboy and I put him in to see what he could do. He has come in, worked hard and scored a goal. It is early days for him but he has done well.”

Should Ahmed sign for West Ham, he would find himself battling with Arsenal for the Under 18’s group A top spot, and a disappointing sight after Abdulla had shown early talents in last season Nike Cup tournament, but agent problems meant he took time to decide on the scholarship, and Arsenal moved for Luke Freeman, leaving the Saudi in the cold.

The Gunners are thought to ask around £100.000 for the player, a similar fee they paid for the fore-mentioned Freeman, but the form of Jason Banton as a forward means a replacement will not be needed.

Young Guns would like to thank Ahmed for his services and wish him all the best in the future, we would also like to thank regular blog commenter Joshua for helping with this news.

He is a pacy striker, who can play out wide.

and i think with Freeman being signed we can afford to let him go.

Who knows, even if he isn’t an amazing talent he could still make it at Arsenal, just look at players like Toni, Flamini, Almunia etc., where they greeat players when they very at his age? No.

just read in the newham recorder which is mine and west ham’s local newspaper that he played i think against reading in a 4-0 win and scored the opener. they also said in the paper that he was only on trial at arsenal which i think is wrong.

another think two guys that i knew and went secondary school woth were playing for west ham, anthony edgar and bondz n’gala who also plays for the reserves and yesterday signed a pro contract

Ahmed I have played with him, and he is very very good player, and what makes him unique is, he could play anywhere on the field apart from defence.
I think it was the right choose for him to leave, is very hard to come through top clubs, because you wont get a chance.

ahmed is a banging player! arsenal shouldnt of let him go in the first place coz right now they are trying to get him back from west ham but its not happening! west ham are giving him a regular start and plus he signed a pro contract and his gettin paid! … he also trains with west hams first team and manager zola said he is keepin an eye on him! my guy is only 16 and i wish him all the best and soon u will see him playing for the seniors!

Chris, stop hating on ahmed! what do u know about football ?? just coz he is making a name for him self and he is gettin recognised by arsenal, tottenham and now west ham. maybe you should go and support a rugby team since you dont know these kind of stuff happens in football!

I really wish Arsenal will take him back. With the reputation on Arsenal name, i hope he will be back to Arsenal. Come on, no player wouldn’t come to arsenal if we didn’t splash the money on them. Great player should be awarded great money so does this player. Ahmed Abdulla if you are reading this message, come back to arsenal if you been offered another time to come back. We will support you.
