Aaron Ramsey To Decide Future Over The Weekend

Cardiff City’s Aaron Ramsey will spend the weekend looking over offers from three Premiership clubs, with a final decision expected early next week. The Welsh International has spent the last few days in talks with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Everton, after all of the clubs agreed a £5 million fee during the week.

Liverpool were also speculated to have been interested, but have yet to improve on their £4 million offer two weeks ago. Although United are said to be in the driving seat for his signature, each of the clubs has their selling points which could sway the deal.

City manager Dave Jones urged Ramsey to join Alex Ferguson’s side yesterday, but of course he would say that as its United’s offer includes the option to loan him back for next season. The Arsenal deal would let Aaron develop in the first team straight away, where he would participate in the Carling Cup side, and possibly feature against smaller Premiership clubs.

The Everton offer is similar to that of the Gunners, but with the Mersyside club having a smaller squad than Arsenal he would feature on a more regular basis, abet it for a smaller club. The Red Devils are said to have already agreed terms on a contract, with the same thing expected today as he holds a meeting with David Moyes.

Speculation is mixed about when he met with Arsène Wenger, some reports claim he will meet the Frenchman in Switzerland, but other stories in Wales say he met Ken Frair in London yesterday afternoon. Everything will become clear on either Monday or Tuesday, lets hope Rambo decides a move to the Gunners is the best for his long term development.

Rick, he can play centrally, but is mainly a winger, can play on the left or right with ease.

Im not holding out much hope, although I think for his future it would be best to come to Arsenal. I think i read some where that he is a ManUre fan, so i guess when push comes to shove he will move there.

It can be argued that he will get more chances immediately @ other clubs to play however if want develop his technical skills and be the best player he can then its not even close [Arsenal always]. As he develops his game, he will play @ the level that Arsene sees fit whether Carling Cup/ FA Cup and hopefully @ higher level after that depending on development.

Man Utd will offer him much more money, that’s their draw with players like this. So if he’s after money he’ll go there. If he is interested in becoming the best player he can be, then Arsenal it is!

If he joins Manure he will decend into averageness: they took a player Wayne Rooney at 16 believed at the time to be the best player since Pele, indeed he scored a hat-trick on his CL debut. Now after years of coaching at ManU he is although a good player, failing to repeat the levels suggested by his early promise. Contrast this with Anelka who started off with raw talent which Wenger honed and Wenger’s work was all to see when Anelka tore England to pieces in that famous France-England game.

From what I have seen he would compliment Arsenal’s atyle of play best as he is a collective player, not outrageously skillful but good technically and a good footballing brain. Even though Man U play good football, they are more reliant upon individual performances than Arsenal so I think Ramsey would contribute best at the Emirates.

Dave, you must be SERIOUSLY deluded if you think his development would be best served at Man Utd! Man Utd spend huge amounts on players, Arsenal make superstars!

We’ve already got Jack Wilshire coming through who is our own product, we don’t need him.

Its difficult to see where he will fit in at United, they have a large squad of expensive and older talents. His skills and talents would suit Arsenal IMO.

Looks more likley he will end up at United though, but you never know what Le Boss can do :)

Ramsey is NOT mainly a winger – he is a right-footed central midfielder.

Cardiff have a small squad so he has been utilised as a right full back; a left sided midfielder; a right sided midfielder; and up front off a main striker.

Hope he goes to Arsenal rather than Man U. On the plus side he already has a couple of mates in north London in Gunter and Bale at Spurs. London is also easier to get to for his family. On the negative side he is a Man U fan.

Knowing Wenger, he’ll probably only be tested in the Tott’ham Cup. His broken promises to Diarra and treatment of Walcott will be considered in Ramsey’s decision. Wenger needs to stop wasting time being the Euro’08 TV Pundit, and get on with transfer dealings involving Adebayor, Hleb, Villa, Nasri and Zapata. None of these players are in the tournament except Nasri (if he’s lucky).

i think its VERY VERY likely Ramsey will join Arsenal as its only really between us, Everton and United. I doubt he will join Everton and even though he said he had a good time at Old Trafford i heard he only spoke to Alex Ferguson over the phone, whereas Arsene made arrangements for Ramsey to fly out to meet him personally, United want him to stay at Cardiff on Loan for another Season whereas its more likely he’ll see more of the ball at Arsenal. Arsene has mentioned younger players from Arsenal such as Bentley,Pennant, Harper,A.Cole etc while talking to Ramsey and making it clear Arsenal is successful with young talent and will make him a better player, lets face it if he goes to United he wont be playing FOR them for a good while, look at Eagles and other young English players they dont use.
According to Ramseys close freinds he has already said that his meeting with Arsene was fantastic and beleives Arsenal would be more benneficial for him, Plus this is Arsene we’re talking about and he is a genius. Just talking to the professor will make you see how much he cares for football and the players themselves, he’s not one to move players around too much unless it will help the player. If I were Ramsey it’ll be between United and Arsenal and with Arsenal being the club thats willing to put more younger players on the starting line-up plus are in need of more players and United taking the easy way out by owning him while Cardiff do all the work, although in years he may have a good future at Man U he could just as easily go to Arsenal, get better and go to Manchester in a year or two like Pennant went to Liverpool, Bentley went to Blackburn etc.
Either way i dont care too much, hes not a superstar yet and i’d just be happy to see some new faces at Emirates…like Nasri!!
    and Villa FFS!!!
