Barazite's January Return Offers Wenger Options

Nacer Barazite will return to North London on December 31st, meaning he will be presented with the opportunity to fight for a first-team place following confirmation that Theo Walcott is out of action for the next three months after shoulder surgery.

The elegant Dutch winger has transformed Derby County’s fortunes since his switch in the summer, yet it’s always been made clear that he is only there to gain experience. Indeed, Paul Jewell has already made plans to replace the 18-year-old, after securing the services of Galway United’s Jay O’Shea earlier in the week, on a pre-contract arrangement.

O’Shea will join on January 1st, and is seen as a like-for-like replacement for Nacer, as the duo both play on the right wing. Barazite will know exactly what Theo is currently going through, after dislocating his shoulder during Arsenal’s Carling Cup win over Blackburn last season. However, he has come back stronger than ever, and has set the Championship alight with his technique and vision – already collecting a handful of assists.

Many have made comparisons between Nacer and former Gunner Robert Pires – with Walcott now injured – Arsenal could do with some of that magic.

Arsène Wenger is known to be a huge admirer of the Holland Under 19 International, and with some experience now under his belt, the winger has put the ball firmly in the bosses court to select him.

how the mighty have fallen. we lose walcott and our hopes are pinned to a 19 year old returning from a loan spell at derby. has he scored for them? and he actually doesnt start every game either.

we deserve more than this. just my opinion.

Having seen a few games that Barazite has played and catching as much highleights of Derby’s games as i can, i’ve managed to see glimpses of what Barazite can bring. You can’t knock Barazite for gonig to Derby, look at Simpson, he was on loan at Millwall last season who are the league below and he is the same age as Nacer. Bentley didn’t get loaned to a Prem team till he was 20-21 i think. We’ll see what happens between now and January, a terrible injury for Walcott just as he was starting to show what he is capable off, it just may open doors to players like Wilshere and Merida maybe. Hell, why not throw Bischoff into the mix as well!!

J, where do you think Nacer ranks compared to Jack and Aaron Ramsey? I’ve always thought he was going to be a top player, the thing that encourages me is that for all his technical expertise he has a great physique for a footballer unlike most of our players.

he is a very good player IMO and one who will add to our team. even great players cannot turn a championship team round single handedly, although Derby’s form has been much better since he went there so its looks as though he has had a positive effect.
    He is better than Eboue.
People think the championship is easy. mmmn, see how Arsenal have done against recent championship teams WBA, Hull and Stoke! Factor in the fact that players can only look as good as those around them and you see that 1 player cannot win a game.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with our attacking options, if only they played with some width and variety. I hope Barazite excels if he gets the opportunity. I think he could be very good.

The main first team concerns though are with the defense and a covering midfielder. We still have to find answers there.

He’s played on the wings for Derby but to me has always looked like being a classy striker. I think in the long term that is his position and hoping he can become a skillful Bergkamp (Bergy was skillful too but you know what I mean).

But we all know that no matter how good he is Wenger will insist that the answer is Eboue on that wing.

If we beat Burnley we will be stronger, because Barazite and Nordtveit will join us in the winter.

If Wenger is not playing top carling cup players in the league regularly, i very much doubt Barazite will considered options in the PL & CL may be FA cup & CC. Anyway i prefer him to get a full on loan rather 6 months because his biggest weakness is his physicality and Championship will help him with that not coming back to us for 6 months and playing some reserves matches and goes for Nordveit.

lol, get out of here. Fine potential but a work in progress, only have to look at N Bendtner’s pathline & progress to see that.

Barazite is not making the impact I expected he is not always starting , and he has not got a goal yet , Compare this Sebastian Larsson and Jay Simpson who both went out on loan and played ont he wings

Barazite will sign another loan deal with derby for the rest of the season,Fact. We already can easily replace Walcott (who has been no more than average for us anyway.) from within our ranks.Nasri,Diaby,Vela,Wilshere,Eboue and Ramsey are already equal if not better than Walcott on the wings

To Emirates_General- Okay he hasn’t scored yet (he missed a penalty) but that’s because he is a striker by trade. I think he will become a top striker, very skillful and clever.

Have seen Jay O’Shea many times and hes very good going forward but has also played many games at right back so he night not necessarily take Barazite’s place.

Wish people would get off eboues back, theo and nacer will both be really good in time but if we want to win things we need players with an end product to their play and eboues crossing etc is far more consistent than theos. The main reason why people get at eboue is cause he keeps a englishmen out of team clearly.

arsenal’s weakness is on defending not on attacking and still there’s no holding midfielder to take flamini’s position

Did you guys know how sh*yte Gallas was at Maths? I think Rothen onced said he failed every math test in school eventhough he was allowed to use the textbook. He probably thinks he is still 26.

I think Coquelin should be given a chance to play as the holding midfielder as he has been very impressive in the reserves.I understand he is young but in my opinion he cant make less of an impact than Denilson and he is the exact type of player we need ie works hard and puts his foot in.The team shape would improve and you woul see an improvement in cesc’s performances with this type of player alongside him.

Coquelin doesn’t even start in the carling cup, so why not play those players in front of him there, in the first team first? he may be a decent talent, but let’s not get hasty… Lansbury should be given a chance too, but heäs in the same situation i think
