Exclusive – Hoyte Replaces Gallas In Arsenal Starting XI

Arsenal Reserve team captain Gavin Hoyte will make his Premiership debut tomorrow afternoon, as Arsène Wenger takes his struggling outfit to Manchester City.

The news comes after first team skipper William Gallas was reportedly stripped of the armband following his arrival from International duty with France. Fellow Reserve team players Henri Lansbury and Jay Simpson will take up places on the bench, as injuries take hold.

Emmanuel Adebayor joins Gallas in being absent, as Wenger puts his faith in some of the fearless Carling Cup youngsters.

Follow all the build up ahead of tomorrow’s clash over at Gooner Talk.

It’s speculation but almost every football-related website and TV channel is covering it, so I can’t see where it would be made up.

cheers gooner chris. Presumably sources close to gallas are claiming he resigned and those close to wenger are claiming he was sacked. Bit of a mess.

few things, its getting like the Arsenal on here- everyone fighting.

Wenger said after last weeks game that Sagna’s injury was serious and that he’d be out until December. Doesn’t matter what the Arsenal website says.

Even Wenger has come out this week and said that FIFA should check that players who pull out of internationals should not play the game after. It would be rather hypocritical for him to pull Sagna out of the France squad and then play him in the next game.

Seriiously, everyone has their own views and they should be respected- no one is right or wrong.

What we have to do as fans now more than ever is really get behind the team tomorrow and show that we’re in this together.

Those going to the game tomorrow, really get behind the players and sing loud and proud.

also in the match preview on the arsenal site (how reliable is that site?) it says Adbeyor and Vela are likely to be involved despite long journeys for their internationals.

Fully agree but the team are not playing like a united camp. But I guess redknapp shows how quickly the atmosphere can change…

lets hope all this contorversy has created a siege mentality at the club, where we prove the critics wrong.

Seriously though, there are a lot of young players who may be involved tomorrow, for their sake and Arsenals lets get behind them.

Gallas HAD to be stripped of his captaincy! I don’t give a ‘FCUK’ what people want to say….You have a contract that states rules and regulations and he’s broken them quite a few times. I would’ve dropped him in the summer! Oh and Hoyte is a much better option than Song at RB! And the person who asked about Vela and his red card…he did not try to go for the ball at all! He was very frustrated and lost his head and kicked out at the player. In the replays you can see it was intentional.

This is like the last exclusive you made up? The one about the starting lineup last Saturday that was wrong?

Right now, even the idea that Gallas has been dropped is all rumor, but if he was Wenger will draft in Song and Djourou in the back and put Silvestre on the right and Clichy on the left.

The closest Hoyte will get to the pitch is from his telly at home.

gallas should be sold in the transfer window or swapped for a taller defender as we need more height in our defence

also since walcott will be out does any1 else think Bischoff should be given a chance in the 1st team

Nasri and Ribery dont speak to each other even the Marseille chairman confirmed it. Anyway, its Gallas who seems to have something against young players, he openly critisiced Diaby and Walcott before and his Nasri story is a stirr in a cup. Nasri seems to have personality. Cant see Gallas playing for Arsenal again. Cant wait to see the reaction and togetherness of the team tomorrow

Anyone think We should exchange gallas to one of the milan clubs myabe AC MiLan and swap him for flamini? I can see Gallas joining inter milan coz mourinho rates him alot and italian teams like older players. I think Daniel van buyten is a good player but hes what we need hes 6ft5/6 very good in the air which is somrthing we lack and hes experienced

Gallas hasnt any balls ffs! He can’t accept the critism he’s facing and tries to deflect it off to his team mates. Arsene got this decision absolutely right. Can’t see him dislodging Djorou from now on. Arsenal to win 4-0! With Djourou scoring all 4!

Does anyone think wenger is missing the influence of David Dein? He’s probably the only person with the balls to tell Arsene he is getting it wrong and the only person respected enough by wenger to be listened too.

Its time to get behind the boys and get on with life. I for one think Gavin Hoyte will play out of his skin to try and get a first team place. Roll on the new generation with Cesc leading us. Wenger will get new players in January so calm down. Gallas has some points but problem is he aired these publicly which adams and vieira never would do.

I hope Wilshere, Ramsey, Gibbs and Lansbury will push these senior players and we have a good bunch of home grown talent to push on. We need these players as much as in the past we had die-hards like Keown, Adams, Davis, Parlour, Merson and even Ashley Cole until it went wrong.

Come on the Arsenal..I hope those at Eastlands scream all game behind our boys!!

Potential changes – Vela then Simpson [those 2 will add alot of pace] then Ramsey if things dont work bcuz i can visualize the predicted 1st 11 not playing enough at a high tempo.

Gallas = Winning Mentality, Experience, Passion,
RVP = Winning Mentality, Experience, Passion/Temper,
Fabregas = Winning Mentality, Experience, Passion,
Kolo Touré = Winning Mentality, Experience, Passion,
Adebayor = Winning Mentality, Experience, Passion,
Clichy & Sagna = Consistency, but I don’t see the winning mentality in them very quiet guys

I reckon these are our key players and the rest are youngsters who are inconsistent and are not able to carry the team. If you look at all these key players you can say that Gallas and Clichy having been performing well. They have been unlucky as well and had some bad games his season. But you expect if Gallas and Clichy don’t perform there are a whole lot of other who will. For me experience leads to consistency! Something which Wenger denies every single match. I can see why this situation happened, if your Manager is only focussed on the talents and doesn’t appreciate the experienced players (there’s no denying that!!) a certain environment is created which devided the young ones (always protected by Wenger) who have all the time of they’re life and the older players who are desperate for prizes and want to be on top. I think Wenger had the chance to correct this unbalance over the summer. If he would have added an experienced DEFENSIVE midfielder he would not only have pleased the experienced players at Arsenal but also added more depth to our team and pleased a whole lot of fans. I am not claiming that this would be an instant solution and we would win the title.

I don’t want to dwell too much on this subject I just want to say I hope the kids win the Carling Cup and the credit crunsh hits Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea so hard that they get points reducted :D

Fully expected a defeat today given the last 48 hours but now we have a few days to get all this sorted! (also a reminder which the media and doom-mongers will conveniently forget: tough away game and missing 6 first-teamers ignoring Gallas!)

In good news…Liverpool and Chelsea drop points in easy home games so we’ll only be one extra point off the top – even though I suspect many of us feel 3rd/4th is the best we can hope for.

Make Fab captain, beat Chelsea next week and get this season going!

    Come on Arsenal!

Gavin Hoyte’s touch was awful, we didnt cross the ball enough, we played thru the middle too much like many games this year. We need to vary our play when teams clog the middle against us.

That’s twice now that you’ve been right, Kudos.

I think you guys should divulge Arsenal’s lineup before every match. Because keeping this stuff secret isn’t important.
