Loanees – Simpson Scores In FA Cup Third Round

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below in this F.A Cup special.

Henri Lansbury played 90 minutes for Watford as they were hammered 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. The damage was done in the first half with three unanswered goals coupled with a further two in the second half seeing the Hornet’s outclassed. However, Henri, who signed a new contract and extended his loan last week, will no doubt learn from the top flight experience. Loanee Rating – 6

Jay Simpson played the full 90 minutes and scored as Sheffield United took Queens Park Rangers to a replay. Simpson opened the scoring with a delightful finish after good pressure from the R’s, but Richard Cresswell levelled on the stroke of half time meaning both sides must now do battle in London for a place in round four. Loanee Rating – 8

Gavin Hoyte played the full 90 minutes at right back for Brighton as they dispatched of Torquay. Hoyte turned in a great shift in a competitive encounter which was decided by a Andrew Crofts goal. Loanee Rating – 6

Pedro Botelho was restored to the Celta Vigo team and played 90 minutes as the Spanish Segunda kicked off once more. A 1-1 draw with Murcia proved not to be the result Celta were hoping for, but Botelho turned in a decent shift at left back. Loanee Rating – 6

Wojciech Szczesny, Rhys Murphy and Havard Nordtveit were not in action this weekend.

Nordtveit’s opportunities at Nuremberg are likely to become extremely limited with their new manager completing the loan signing of CB Breno and DM Ottl, both from Bayern Munich, until the end of the season and the soon-to-be signing of free agent Slovakian international defender/midfielder Radoslav Zabavnik.

Lansbury struggled, Watford didn’t have much of the ball at all so he was really quiet, made a few rash tackles too, was lucky not to be booked. Seemed to be easily wound up.

Ah right, didn’t see that it was him who got that card, thought it was Belletti for the foul later in that sequence of play (Lansbury rattled through someone but the ref played advantage).

Yeah, Call Nordveit back, he is bound to be a first choice sooner or later, so adapt him to our game now.

watching Wilshere play 2nite its clear he needs to play more often…he needs to sharpen imo.West Ham or Burnley would be good for him because at present he’s 3rd choice after Nasri & Walcott

J, G OR NICK, could you please tell me what your view is on Shinji Kagawa,
I think he is a starlet, however , some other people on this site disagree, and i was just wondering what your view was.

KM, i think he is currently at least 4th choice with rosicky as well, possibly lower down even. Not quite ready for our first team regularly but should be in a couple of years.

Um how can you see Nordveit being ready for the first team when his current team is getting a cb and 2 def mids. TThat probally meens that he wasnt good enough.

Sean- you sound like those people on rumour boards who claim they have connections with players to legitimize your rumours. Plus Neymar is not built for the Prem League. He is as slinder as Robinho plus isnt as skillful. Eden Hazrd is the guy we can not let get away.

TheCritic- Shinji Kagawa…..check out imscouting.com, it is a proffesional scouting site used by alot of clubs and they have an article on him under there “player to watch” section. But he is a Box-to-box center mid but he reminds me more of a Nasri with good vision.

Yeah I did, I’m a Chelsea ST holder, just didn’t feel he was any better than any other Watford player. They had so little ball it was hard to impress at all, and off the ball he lost discipline and seemed to be wound up. Not saying he was bad, but it wasn’t a day anyone in yellow could impress was it?

I hope Simpson stays with Arsenal. Merida really wasn’t very good yesterday. It didn’t look like he was playing for another contract. What’s up with him?? And I agree with Shane about Eden Hazard. I don’t know much about Neymar though, apart from the fact that he’s Robinho’s cousin and has the same advisors I think…in other words…steer clear. Chelsea can have him. I don’t really care about any other midfield prospects right now. Ramsey is already looking like a more skilled Gerrard to me. Well younger guys are always welcome and it’s not that I don’t care about them but could they really be better than Ramsey right now?? I think we might want to bring Havard back?? It could help him maybe.
