Loanees – Wilshere & Sunu Shine As Wingers

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

In The Premier League…

Jack Wilshere made his first start for Bolton at home and played 80 minutes against Wolves. The youngster turned in a hard working and impressive shift on the left wing. In the first half the exciting youngster struggled to get involved but at the very end of the half, he cut inside from the right and had his shot deflected behind for a corner. The delivery was poor but a second corner was given, of which Bolton would grab the opener.

Jack showed several touches of quality but was replaced with 10 minutes left, to a standing ovation from the Bolton fans.

In The Championship…

Gilles Sunu started on the right wing and played 84 minutes for Derby County as they lost to promotion chasing West Brom. Sunu looked dangerous throughout the game, especially in the first half when he stormed past two defenders and crossed for Pearson who shot wide. In the second period, Gilles has a chance himself following a flowing move but he couldn’t keep his snap shot from the edge of the box down. After tormenting Marek Cech all game, Gilou was subbed off with minutes left.

Jay Simpson played the full 90 minutes but failed to score for Queens Park Rangers as they lost to Middlesbrough. Simpson is set to have a new manager next week, with QPR expected to name Neil Warnock as boss on Monday.

Kyle Bartley completed another 90 minutes for Sheffield United, in a 7 goal affair at Brammall Lane. Bartley made three great challenges in the first half but in a real goal glut, Kyle struggle to impose himself.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas played the final 14 minutes for Doncaster Rovers on his debut against Crystal Palace. Jay came from the bench in the 76th minute and almost bagged the winner with a powerful long range strike, which was beaten away by Julian Sperioni. Former Arsenal ‘keeper Charlie Mann was on the bench for the visitors.

Henri Lansbury started and completed the 90 minutes for Watford as their inconsistent form continued with defeat to Newcastle United. Lansbury struggled to make an impact as the Magpies cruised to victory.

Kerrea Gilbert started on the bench but played the final 37 minutes for Peterborough in a 1-0 defeat to Swansea.

Elsewhere…

Mark Randall was an unused substitute for MK Dons, Gavin Hoyte was an unused substitute for Brighton and Wocjiech Szczesny’s game was postponed.

    This is very promising news. Especially for Wilshere. When will these guys be ready to contribute to the big club. Great News Chelsea lost to City 4-2 Yes, the basket counts ands the foul- Three point play for us Gunners today against Stoke.

    I saw Gilbert running for a train on Wednesday morning at Kings Cross at about 8:30 am

    Looks like somebody was late.

    A shoe in to be offloaded in the summer.
