Loanees – Wilshere, Simpson & Emmanuel-Thomas Score

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

In The Premier League…

Jack Wilshere played 78 minutes and scored for Bolton against West Ham United. The prospect began the game in flying form and after Kevin Davies had scored, Davies provided a knock down for Wilshere to volley home his first Premier League goal. He looked a menace all throughout the game but was eventually withdrawn late in the second half.

In The Championship…

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas played the full 90 minutes and scored twice on his first start for Doncaster Rovers. Playing just behind fellow loanee Billy Sharp, Jay took just two minutes to get on the score-sheet, tapping home from close range. He got his second with two minutes of the first half left.

Jay Simpson racked up another 90 minutes and scored for Queens Park Rangers as Neil Warnock’s rein as R’s boss got under way. Jay grabbed the opener with just 13 minutes of the first half gone, finishing well to add to his already impressive goal tally for the season.

Henri Lansbury started and completed the game for Watford as they lost 2-0 to Gilles Sunu’s Derby.

Kyle Bartley turned in another solid 90 minutes for Sheffield United, but his hunt for clean sheets was spoilt when Alan Lee scored after 23 minutes. The powerful centre back had to make a number of tidy interceptions in a typically rugged Championship fixture.

In League One…

Mark Randall earned a rare start for the MK Dons. Mark has been out of favour by manager Paul Ince but he recalled the central midfielder and it proved to be a good move. Randall played well, with the only blot on his copy book a yellow card for unsporting behavior.

Wojciech Szczesny played the complete game for Brentford against table topping Leeds. The Polish stopper had to be at his agile best to deny a flurry of chances at Elland Road. Brentford grabbed the lead but Jermaine Beckford finally found a way beyond Szczesny in a tight encounter.

Wow! What a great, great day for Arsenal all around. Great win for the first team, great performance by Wilshere with Bolton. Great performance by JET with Doncaster, Jay Simpson keeps scoring at QPR, and Sczcesny and Lansbury turn in another solid performance each.

It’s very exciting! The first team is in a great position to fight for the title, and our youth are doing extremely well out on loan.

Great to be a fan of the greatest club on the planet!!

    Arsenal for life!!!

good day for loaners, good day for 1 team. But bad day for bentdner and bad news about Cesc. I dont know if we will manage to play against porto in tuesday in our style. I dont know who will replace Cesc ( hope he will be just fine) in that crucial game.
Bentdner has missed a lot, to many chances. We should had signed NIstelrooy with any price, at any circumstance. We lack on finishers and pray this wont revenged us.
    In Arsene I trust,

he was impressive in everything but the finishing
He held the ball up, created chances for other players, was very agile and if he had finished even half of the chances then he would have had an outstanding game but this happens sometime.
Sometimes it just isn’t your day and it was the same for Bendtner. he’s been very impressive in the couple of games before Burnley
Cesc can be replaced by Nasri and Arshavin will move to the left wing.
this is what the lineup will look like

      —————————- Almunia
      Eboue ————- Sol —— Vermaelen ———- Clichy
      —————————–Song
      Walcott ——— Nasri ——— Diaby ———— Arshavin
      —————————–Bendtner

If sol is injured then SIlvestre will take his place other than that pretty impressive lineup

Benny – Bendtner had one of those games that all strikers have every now and again. Nothing went right for him today and it’s as simple as that.

He will be back to his best on Tuesday and I’m backing him to score!

is wilshere just turned 18?..i think fab will be ok for porto-i think it was precaution today,i also think altho bendtner misses alot the positive thing is him being in a posistion to have 7,8 chances a game..not alot of strikers have this knack of being in a shooting posistion so many times(defoe is the only one i can think of) once he gets in the run of things the goals will come i also think he will score v porto

Slating Bendtner after one game is not fair to the lad.
He scored a beautiful goal for us against stoke and even in the burnley game as long as he was their we were creating chances but as soon as he left everything went quiet.

Right now he is our best striker I feel so sorry for Eduardo though – he was such a quick, agile and a superb finisher now every time he gets in a goal scoring position someone puts in a tackle and he panics and scr#ws the shot wide. He’s also lost so much pace I just hope he gets back to his best or even just gets more confident in front of goal because he used to be a world class striker.
      But not any more
Still how impressive was walcott isn’t that a slap in the face to all the sports guru who thought walcott didn’t have a “football brain”.
I loved honestly never seen a better response from a player.

DO you think he will be a striker, AM (like Fabregas) or a CM.
I think he will be a CM and will finally end up playing in the diaby’s position

Bendtner will bounce back, hopefully against Porto. Wilshere showed good touch, he seems to be getting many plaudits up in Bolton, I cannot wait until he is blooded and ready for a full run in the first team next season.

JET is proving the doubters wrong, I think he might even be playing Jay Simpson out of an Arsenal kit, more is the pity. Question, what is Merida’s health like right now? He might get a run of a PL game or two with the injuries we have.

Here’s the proof of Wenger’s genius

    ——————————–Almunia
    Sagna ———– Gallas ———— Vermaelen ——— Clichy

    ——— Fabregas ———— Song —————– Diaby——-

Walcott ——————- Van Persie ——————- Arshavin

This is our most impressive lineup and from all these players I think only Arshavin has costed us more than 10 million in transfer fees

All the others were for next to nothing.

    Transfer Fees breakdown

Almunia was around 1-2 million If I am not wrong
Sagna was a bit expensive but he a true RB he was around 9 million
Gallas costed us nothing and we got rid of cashley so win win for us
Vermaelen costed us 10 million but he’s worth it as he’s probably the most impressive CB for his age
Clichy was bought on a free
Fabregas was almost free with about 350K-650K changing hands
Song was bought for 1 million
Diaby was bought for 2 million
Walcott was bought for 5 million
Van Persie was bought for 2.5 million
Arshavin was bought for somewhere around 12-14 million

    SO to Summaries
Our best first team players bought for 5 million or less
    Van Persie
    Walcott
    Diaby
    Song
    Fabregas
    Clichy
    Gallas
    Almunia

Players bought for 10 million or less
    Vermaelen
    Sagna

Players bought for more than 10 million
    just one Andrei Arshavin

I wanted to add Nasri in their aswell but I think Andrei is a better fit but if he was included then he too would have costed us more than 10 million but considering his performances in the last couple of matches I think he’s worth it.

Nasri has been better than Walcott all season but you still consider Walcott as the better player. He was good yesterday but what about the whole season? He has been very very poor. Rocisky should be ahead of walcott too.

Every year someone will come up with these comments. We all know Wenger can build a world class team. The thing is we have to win something.

I think Walcott is a better play on the right then nasri
Nasri is better on the left wing but there’s no one better than Andrei in that position
and its unfair to judge walcott from his performances a month ago
walcott was injured for more than 6 months and has just started to play regularly
walcott and nasri were easily the best players on the pitch in the Burnley game

And I didn’t know we got Van Persie for just 2.5 million that’s the buy of the century
Oh wait we got Fabregas for free
that is certainly an interesting read
Trophies are won by world class team so give this team a year or two let them grow and then we will rule Europe
God willing we might even win the EPL this season but lets go from game to game and see where the season takes us.

Nasri is better everyday of the year then theo only thing theo is better than Nasri at is raw pace and theres nothing Nasri can do to improve his natural pace. Nasri is better in every other aspect his technique is superb. Him and Rosicky were brilliant yesterday Rosicky especially so with his direct running.

JET and Simpson’s goals can be seen on BBC iPlayer by watching last nights Championship highlights.

@ JohnV; there is plenty that Nasri can do to improve his natural pace, how about sprint training for instance? I take your point that he will never be as quick as Walcott though. Walcott showed yesterday that he is a confidence player. When he is on top of his game he is wonderful but he can get frustrated and he shrinks into his shell. Hopefully he will carry his confidence through to the Porto game.

      Sagna —— Gallas ———- Vermaelen ——- Clichy

      ———-Diaby ———- Fabregas ———- Song——-

Van Persie —————- Chamak ————– Arshavin

Plenty of height and plenty of defensive cover the best thing is that you can say this probably the best team in Europe.

I think Nasri is best played through the center, i also think thats his prefered position bring that when he starts out wide he always tends to float inside, i think his play yesterday is testiment to that fact, also on a side note Wellington silva was in the mix again as he set up the winning goal for fluminese, hes becoming very influencial in that squad cant wait till he arrives he and Wilshere gonna be two of the most talented teenagers in Europe mark my words ..

Although wilshere scored against west ham, overall he had a pretty poor game. There is a video on youtube which shows every touch he had.

Does anyone else think he plays alot better on a larger pitch? Im pretty sure West ham have the smallest pitch in the Premier League and in all honesty he had a bad game. But when he played at Manchester City he had a quality game even though Bolton lost and correct me if im wrong but Manchester City have the biggest pitch in the premier league. He also seems to struggle at the Reebok which is like 2nd Smallest. Also does no one remember the FA cup game against West ham where Jack also player poorly.
