Loanees – Ayling Debuts As Wilshere Gets Another 90

Welcome to this weekend’s Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

In The Premier League…

Jack Wilshere started and completed the 90 minutes for Bolton against Aston Villa. Continuing in his role on the left wing, Jack made several great runs down the wing but the hosts struggled to assert themselves and eventually lost.

In The Championship…

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas started in midfield for Doncaster Rovers and played the 90 minutes as they lost 2-1 to Plymouth. Again one of the better players on the park, an unlucky defeat for Rovers see’s them set for a mid tabled finish.

Henri Lansbury racked up another 90 minutes for Watford in their midfield engine room against Preston. The Hornets have slipped down the table recently and Henri was doing his best to help create the goals to fire them to safety. His dangerous free-kicks caused issues but at the back, but poor defending cost them dear once more.

Jay Simpson started but was replaced in the 73rd minute for Queens Park Rangers against Sheffield Wednesday. Simpson’s form has dipped in recent weeks and another very average performance alongside Tamas Priskin saw him hauled off with 17 minutes left.

Gilles Sunu was an unused sub for Derby County against Coventry.

In League One…

Wojciech Szczęsny racked up another 90 minutes for Brentford in the crunch derby with Millwall. The highly rated stopper made a selection of good and scrappy saves as his mixed campaign continues. He was denied a clean sheet, and Brentford were denied the win, when Paul Robinson struck in the 75th minute.

Luke Ayling came off the bench with 11 minutes left for Yeovil, replacing midfielder Kieran Murtagh

Sanchez Watt did not get off the bench for Leeds United, who were crushed 3-0 against Swindon.

Mark Randall played the final 9 minutes as a substitute against Charlton Athletic.

Elsewhere…

Havard Nordtveit played the final 30 seconds for Nuremberg after coming off the bench against Mainz.

he was suppose to be the answer to our defensive problems for years to come but his loan spell has been very awful
and if you can’t get regular first team football with a small german club then making it at arsenal is all but a dream
its a shame I like him when he played for reserves

      Rubbish.

He’s being played out of position. Obviously the new manager doesn’t want him, plus they are in a relegation scrap.

Just one issue…from what i’ve read, Szczęsny is having a “great season”, not a mixed one.
And I think a managerial change has not helped Norveidt, so we shouldn’t be too harsh on him. Plus he’s been played in midfield, not his regular position.

From what you’ve read yes, I’ve seen highlights of every game he’s played this season. He’s made many fantastic, but also made lots of mistakes which haven’t been reported. Notice the positive articles have dried up recently? his form has slipped a bit.

I’ve made sure i kept a close eye on him too mate, and while you’re correct in the fact that he’s made some mistakes (very understandable considering his age), on the whole, he’s been quite impressive and was again against Millwall, so i’ve heard. Not quite ready to be Arsenal’s number 1 yet though.

J, How has Lansbury fared at watford ?
I can see that he hasn’t exactly set the championship on fire, but has he been decent.
Does the guy need more time or can he be on the periphery of the first team next season

I hate it when the loan managers play our boys outta position. What the hell is Ayling doing playing midfield??? Is he a defensive midfielder or a centre half??? Don’t campaign to be a loan club if you don’t play the players to their strengths. And yes I screamed bloody hell when Bendtner put that ball in!!!:D I’m loving how he is proving to be so valuable to us, when I’ve seen so many people (not really on here) bash him. He’s got a head of gold now!! And he made several good runs!!:D He’s one of the few who I haven’t jumped all over unlike denilson and Diaby. I’ve always loved Song though lol. but yeah Bendtner is awesome.

Bendtner is improving alright, but he is not there yet. He still needs to learn a lot.., he should at least reach Adebarndoor standard. I know a lot of u hates Ade, but TBH apart from his arrogant personality & laziness, he is still a better striker compare to Bendtner (Well at least at the moment he is, don’t u think?). I myself is one of NB doubters, I just don’t see why ppl have to be so excited with him. There is nothing so special about him at the moment. However, I do really really hope he can prove me wrong in the future & score 30 goals plus per season for us.
      Cheers

Hopefully, all the Bendtner haters will get off his back now…. But I doubt it.

Of course Chesny is goin to make mistakes, how old is he FFS?

I have got high hopes for Havard too, its unfotuntae the new Nurnberg coach overlooks him, but given their predicament, it aint really surprising.

OK never mind I checked aylings bio and it said he has played in midfield before. I just hope he gets to play the postition that he prefers most, instead of having to pander to other coaches needs and demands all the time. After what has happened to Havard, it’s hard to trust loan managers:S I guess that is what loan experiences are about though. Or that is one of the major issues with loaning out young players.

You are right “Siddu”. I am following Griffinpark.org and “Chesney” have been one if not the most impressing player for Brentford this season according to the supporters.

Do you guys think Wenger will go for Lukaku or Hazard in the summer?

Lukaku, no. He just reiterated that he won’t move until he’s 18, which is summer 2011.

Hazard, maybe. He’s made comments about wanting to eventually go to Real Madrid or Arsenal, but has also said he wants to stay with Lille a while longer.

I would be stoked if we got Hazard. Not at any price, but i think he míght just be worth cashing a little extra up on. From what ive seen he could become an absolute superstar.

I think Wenger will buy him I am sure of that
Wenger wants to bring him, Hazard wants to come here, and he can fit in our transfer budget both in transfer fees and wages
The only problem is that if Real miss out on Ribery and Silva then they will surely go for Hazard and then we will have no chance.

Damn, can anyone say heart attack. It leaves me to wonder whether arsenal is worthy of the title as those who seek the title go all out from start to finish, shooting from all angles. Not merely entertaining but entertaining with good goals not scrappy damn late heart aching goals.

P.S. I am a gunner but i had to say it.

I think we tried to shoot from outside the box but we hopelessly wide
Denilson tried it, Vermaelen tried it and so did Rosicky not one was on target and what one of them were on target
We won the game through a cross from our fullback and that’s not the arsenal way so saying we only play entertaining football is very very wrong

if the truth is that he has made many errors and mistakes, why weren’t those reported here on the blog?

He hasn’t made many. He’s made a few. He definitely needs to improve how he deals with high balls into the box. He needs to use that frame to his advantage and come out and claim those balls. A good GK coach will teach him how to do this.

Not many of us had heard of Wellington silva before we signed him. It was done quickly. A few articles on here and then Bam, we signed him. I don’t get the feeling that we will sign Lukaku or Hazard. If we do great, but I don’t think we will. That isn’t how Wenger works and that’s fine by me. I think we have a better shot at Hazard then Lukaku if only for the fact that hazard has said he wants to either come to Arsenal or go to Real Madrid. God only knows why he would want to go to the team who’s kit is covered in birdshit, but that’s a different debate altogether. Lukaku is supposedly a diehard Chelsea fan and he hasn’t expressed as much interest in joining the Arsenal. He’s an animal and would be great, but signing these types of prodigies isn’t in Arsene Wenger’s history really. Not players who are this young for the amount of money that it would take to land either, or both of them. There is always a first time for everything though, so you never know.

Yes both Walcott and nasri were considered prodigies but we failed in attempts to buy Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Ibrehimovic when they were young and available. Walcott and Nasri probably won’t reach there level, but they COULD come close. We are compairing different levels of talent.

Ibra has been consistent good for the last 3 year only. Before that he was way over-ratted,going missing when the team need him.
Bendtner is less talented technically, but he work much harder for the team. and score quiet few important goal. Its the only time he s been playing regular as main striker in his short carrreer. It s not going magically over night become world class and carry the team.
At the same age Drogba was playing only in second division in France only moving in the top division at 22/23 year old where he score …3 goal.Bendy is already better that Drogba at the same age
People still waiting a new Henry to coming and Score 30 goal a season. and doinG 15/20 ASSIST.Stop dreaming .
As for Nasri he was Excellent last yeaar but this year he is been few time injured at the start of his season. But now he is playing consistently in the more center position he is been brilliant. That s why we are not gone to miss cesc as much than Gallas for the last few game
