Arsenal Process Work Permit Application For Galindo

Samuel Galindo is poised to complete his transfer to Arsenal from Real America, after the Gunners processed the Bolivian midfielders work permit application. The club remain hopeful the Home Office will grant the 17-year-old the visa allowing him to begin his career in North London.

Galindo has been training with Arsène Wenger’s first team since January, when Arsenal stole a march on Everton to secure a provisional deal. However, the move wasn’t sealed as officials wanted to look further into allegations of “age cheating” which originated in the Bolivian press. After satisfying themselves that the youngster was the correct age, the transfer window had shut.

The 6’3 powerhouse signed a development contract in March, meaning he would be added to the payroll at the club but he couldn’t play any games. Instead he trained with the first-team, and was even snapped taking part in a 5 on 5 training match before the Champions League clash with Barcelona.

In May Samuel returned to Bolivia to complete the paperwork required to apply for a Spanish visa, with a loan move to Salamanca on the cards. However, given the successes of Manchester United in securing a visa for Javier Hernandez and Arsenal in doing the same for Emilio Damián Martínez, a similar deal for Galindo could be on the cards.

Alternatively, 36 months spent on loan with a Spanish club appears to be the only other option. After that process is completed, he will earn E.U citizenship, meaning he could return to Arsenal. However, if that’s the route that the left footed maestro must take, he hopes to have earned 75% of available caps for his national team by December 2011, meaning he could return early.

More details to follow.

Hey man if he gets a permit will he go directly into the first team (which should be the case as he trained with the first team throughout) or in the reserves???

what are the chances j? can he be brought into first team straight? Does FA have any quota for the number of players that a team can apply for special talent? We will also need to apply for Silva in JAN. Is, that gonna be a problem???

The kid’s been playing for the under 21s at such a young age, he must be considered an exceptional talent.

Yeah thats a long time and will for sure hinder his development. When he actully arrives it will take a while for him to get used to the EPL after 36 months in Spain aswell. Lets hope we can land a wordpermit.

I wonder if any of the people that posted terrible things about him when the RUMOURS of him being an age cheat surfaced would like to retract them?

GunnIng4eva; straight into the first team? Are u mad? He’s comingfrom south America as a 17year old!!! Lol, some people! Aaron Ramsey arrived as a massive talent, had even played in the FA cup final…and did well in that game. Do u think Galindo could go into first team straight away? Ofcourse not

the way i see it, if he gets special talent permit, he’ll be brought into first team definitely as he trained with first team and be given chances like Ramsey, I might be wrong but wenger certainly sees something in him and the professor has previously done that with Fab4, Rambo, Denilson who were all young, very young

J do you think we will have any troublle with getting a permit for wellington da silva? Im pretty sure we wouldnt of paid that much money and had him over here so many times if he was going to be on loan for 3 years!

    Couple of points:

    1) To follow up on an earlier comment, assuming we can secure a visa for him, is Galindo considered ready for the first team. If the visa is secured will he be fast-tracked straight into the first team as a 17 y.o., ala Ramsey?

    2) If he is fast tracked, what does that mean for the chances of players such as Lansbury, Ozyakup, and Henderson? If he’s so good at 17 that AW feels he should go straight into the 1st team, that has to be a serious indication that he’s ahead of those three.

    3) J., do you think the emergence of Galindo and the likelihood that he was going to be fast-traced as a 1st teamer had an influence on Merida’s decision to leave. After all, the two were essentially serving the same role since January. Basically, they were just practice players. I wonder if Merida saw the quality of Galindo during training and thought, “ughh…even more competiion for me, as if there wasn’t already enough…I’m gone!”

4.) Lastly, a lot has been made recently about how we may far too many cnetral midfield prospects at the club. I don’t necessarily agree. Considering we’ve just lost a top prospect in Merida, and we are likely only to have our number one central midfielder for one more season, if that. (Personally, I doubt we will sell Cesc this summer because Barca will have to come up with a minimum of 45-50 million pounds and they probably won’t do it. That said, when they come back to claim him next summer the price will likely be about 10 mil. higher unless the two clubs settle on next summer’s sale price, including performance based add-ons, a year in advance a la Real and United with Ronaldo last summer.)

So, considering the significance of recent and pending departures, AW and the staff have to be looking to do two things 1) find world class potential replacements for Cesc (Gourcuff and Hamsik are the only ones out there of comperable age and skill level—-keep an eye on Hamsik in the cup with Slovakia, interesing to see if his performcance could represent a massive leap in stature and reputation or if it goes the other way); 2) find top quality prospects to keep the competition at youth level as intense as possible.

I think the like of JET (if he chooses to settle in midfield rather than striker), Lansbury and Ozy have a good chance to outfight these new young players coming in, but frankly, I could care leas who wins these battles as long as the player who makes the first team is potentially world class and can move the club toward trophies.

CM: Cesc—Diaby—Nasri—Denilson—Henderson—Lansbury—Ozyakup—Aneke—Wilshere—Randall—Ramsey—sometimes JET—and now Ebecilio and Galindo

    DM: Song—Eastmond—Frimpong—Yennaris—and hopefully Coquelin

    Wingers: Walcott—Eboue—Rosicky—Watt—Deacon—Wellington Silva
(ohters can play there obviously, but this group represents the closest we have to pure wingers)

Lets hope he can be fasttracked.

On another matter J was wondering if it is wise to be associated with Arsenal Action. They are constantly moaning minnies about players, Wenger etc and started again today slagging all the U18s that have ever played for the club! Then they backtrack and say they like your site lol. Their negative stance has earned them a terrible reputation with other sites who mock them as they go quiet for weeks when all is well with the club.

Actually, he turned 18 last April so he is the same age as Wilshere. I have no idea how good he is or if he could break into the first team squad right away. It sounds smart to let him train with the first team and play for the reserves, start in the CC and maybe occasional cameo in the EPL and CL if he does well. Then loan him out as soon as we are out of the CC, unless of course he is good enough to play in our title run (we haven’t lost Cesc, keep positive).

He’s not a winger, he’s an Attacking Midfielder and he’s 18. He’s also played for the senior Bolivia team so hopefully he will get the special talent permiit.

If he doesnt get any sub appearances it will be a waste of time. As all fans know, these guys need time.If they are given time over a period of time and fail to impress, then there is no doubt Arsene better get more experienced players.
the youth squad is full of kids with immense potetential only to have been shown the exit doorr. Yeah there are exceptions to the exceptions.

he might be wenger’s understudy to diaby…?

tall strong lanky attacking central midfielder…might turn out better than diaby too. diaby really has to come good soon or else he should be moved on. maybe wenger’s signing galindo because he’s hedging on the success of diaby?

plus galindo might become friends with vela, which vela would appreciate since his bestest buddy merida has left…just a thought.
