Lorient Waiting On Wenger To Confirm Koscielny & Link Up Details

FC Lorient are waiting for a response from Arsène Wenger after submitting their re-negotiated terms for the transfer of Laurent Koscielny. A preliminary deal as agreed on Monday, as revealed by Young Guns, after a meeting with the players agent and President Loïc Féry. However, the terms of the payment structure and a possible youth link up are awaiting the green light from Wenger.

The transfer has been held up due to the Frenchman’s television commitments. Lorient are refusing to release the player until both parties can confirm the minor details, and with Les Merlus returning for pre-season training on Monday, Féry is keen to know a firm answer.

Koscielny’s agent Pierre Laurent confirmed the situation in an interview with Sport.co.uk.

“On Monday I had a meeting with Mr Féry, and he informed me that he has sent a new proposal to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.”

“The fee was very similar, so it should be okay. I then spoke with Arsène (Wenger) but he has not got his BlackBerry with him, so he does not know the new proposal from FC Lorient. So, for the moment, we are waiting for confirmation from Arsenal and Arsène.”

A potential youth link up would come upon the conclusion of Francis Coquelin’s loan with Lorient. The Gunners are keen to see how he settles and what benefits can be gained from a regular spell in Ligue One, with potentially more promising youngsters heading to France and vice-versa.

Should an ampicable agreement be sealed, Arsenal looks set to have a strong long term relationship with the French outfit.

This could be great news for the youngsters ligue 1 is a good level of football for these boys to play at. especially the ones who can’t attract an opportunity at another premiership team.

yeah but I think linkup should be only for French speaking players
It will be hard for Bartley to find his form in france since he doesnt speak their language and has to step up to liege one
this in reality is a very good lineup in my view we should think about doing the same with other teams in other top leaugues aswell like in Netherland, germany and maybe even in italy
althought we dont have many italians in our team
      why his that?

Isnt this abit stupid by Wenger? If we lost out on this signing cause he was too busy doing TV work would that not be the most ridiculous reason for a transfer not happening? Wenger needs to sort out his priorities. His bread and butter is his Arsenal job so that should come first

what’s up with wenger’s relationship with castrol? apart from his work from french tv and his occaisonal appearances in nike football ads, his castrol work is his only other ‘bit on the side.’

why is he working for an evil oil company? i don’t get it. do they sponsor football-related development projects in aftrica or something?

Castrol do all the football stat work it is really, really detailed and I think AW uses there data to look at how his players are performing

This is a bit of a long drawn out saga. Just pay the fucking fee if you want him and stop pissing around with an extra couple of grand

You can guarantee this will be our only signing that we pay for before the season.

It doesn’t work like that dude, he just can’t bust in and sign somebody else player at the speed he wants too lol You think he would want to just wait it out and drag it out? He’s the one that wants the player I’m sure he would have him already if he could. That fast signing stuff has back fired on Rafa and Liverpool so many times it’s crazy lol. The man is coming to Arsenal, believe me he’s coming.

It sounded to me as though the stickling point was more to do with the youth link-up. Wenger will want this to be scrutinised intensely and on his terms. Rather than being overly tight fisted

It looks like the deal is almost done so that means Chamak, Koscielny and possibly Cole is done that’s pretty good business by Wenger if you consider these three signing are not costing us more than 10 million
Isnt Gadizis the one handling the negotiations? I dont think we can lose Koscielny, negotiations are at advance stages a fee between the two clubs have been agreed the only thing left is to make it offiical.

Arsenal have also reportedly submitted new a bid for Schwarzer and I think we will get him in the end fullham were probbaly hoping Schwarzer might have a great WC and his price will soar but that didnt happen so they will probably accept our bid now
    &
that will probably be it Schwarzer, Chamak, Cole and Koscielny

J what’s happening with the transfer of Assulin and Pablo Sarabia to Arsenal we are the front runners for the signature of both of these youngsters and idea if its going to happen on not

who are we going to sell this summer? its pretty clear who we are going to buy
If Schwarzer comes then Almunia might be sold and Fabianski made no.2 or Almunia made no.2 and Fabianski loaned out
Koscielny is coming to fill a huge gap that Gallas, Silvestre and Sendros have left in our defense hopefully we can hold on to SOL
Cole might mean the end of either Eduardo or Rosicky and I am sure one of them will be sold.
Chamak I think came in to fill the boots of Adebayor but Eduardo barely got any playing time and might move now

Barca have been trying to buy Fab but I think Fab is too important to be sold this summer
same for Van Persie who are the real leaders of our team
Song is wanted by Galatasry and thy have supposedly made a bid of 4 million but I think they have lost their mind
Arshavin might have been sold if someone really wanted him because of Cole arrival and his big mouth but it doesnt look like he’s going anywhere

J who else do you think might be going on loan?

Are there any clubs looking at Barazite? maybe a PL club

there are also Lansbury, JET, Bartley, Szcesny who are on the fringes of the first team so it will be interesting if they can make it to a top championship club or a PL club

I will be interesting to see if Randall, Watt and Hoyte are stuck again with a league one outfit or they move up to a championship side

I hope Norvedit can move upto the first team

Murhy and Sunu also need to establish themselves in a championship side. I still think Freeman should go to a championship side

Theres also Eastmond, Henderson, Frimpong and Cruise who need experience but no way to a league one club but at the lowest to a championship side

Andrew who do you think can make it into Arsenal first team from the players listed above
      I think it will be
Szcesny from our goalkeeping prospects looks like the most likely candidate
Norvedit and Bartley from defense department
Lansbury, Coquelin and Eastmon from defense
      Barazite for the wings
I dont see any of our curren young strikers like JET, Murphy, Freeman, Sunu and Watt making into arsenal first team. None of them are arsenal quality

You forgot Wilshere who is destined to make it same goes for Tech9

      IN DEFENSE

Norvedit – only time will tell if he makes it or not. None of us have any idea how good he really is but he did gain valuable experience in Bundesliga
Bartley – looks like our new Tony Adams. Same height, same leadership skills, great English defender but even he’s a question mark but I think he will make it
Miguel – he’s my favourite defender and he has that technical quality that wenger loves in a defender
there are no fullbacks in our reserves that I think will make it at Arsenal and it includes Cruise and Hoyte

      Players who are
GOING TO MAKE IT – MIGUEL
      MAYBE’S – BARTLEY, NORVEDIT
      NO – CRUISE, HOYTE

      IN MIDFIELD

Wilshere – Is Obviously going to make it.
Lansbury – Wenger likes him but I think Ramsey is just a level above Lansbury and too be honest he didnt impress in his loan spell so only time will tell who makes it
Coquelin/Eastmond – If Coquelin impresses in his loan spell then wenger will have to really like Eastmond to not bring him into the first team. Eastmond too needs to go on loan although maybe staying with the first team and learning from Song will bring out the best out of him.
Randall – oh how the mighty have fallen. He was our biggest prospect alongside Wilshere but he just didnt materalise and I think he will be lucky to become a good championship player
Frimpong – Our midfield powerhouse needs to go on loan but I dont think he will make it.
Henderson – hes going to be 19 in september he needs to go on loan to make a case for himself. Good player though but with the talent we have in midfield I doubt he can make it at Arsenal. A PL club is a possiblity
Ozzyakup like Wilshere will make it into Arsenal first team because he has that vision and
that passing ability which is almost cesc like and I think he is destined to make it into Arsenal first team.
Aneke too is going to make I have no doubts about that either and I think in the end he will become an arsenal legend.

      Players who are
GOING TO MAKE IT – WILSHERE, OZZIE, ANEKE
MAYBE’S – LANSBURY, COQUELIN, EASTMOND, HENDERSON
      NO – FRIMPONG, RANDALL

      IN Attack

Barazite – I hope he makes it. I love watching him play and he can score goals that always leaves you in awww
Afobe – Looks like An Arsenal player for the future. I think he will make it
Freeman, Sunu, Watt, Murphy, JET, Simpson – Wont make it at arsenal in my view

I hope so but we already have 5 strikers and JET doesnt look he will make it but I really hope I am wrong since I love players who come through our academy
He did a great job at Doncaster lets see if he can do the same in the PL. If he is a success there then he has a very good chance of making it at Arsenal.

ok lets state some facts….at the end of the season arsene admitted we need more quality not youth…..we all agreed, most said two cb’s at least one world class one, a gk, and a dm where the essentials on our shopping list…. he basically admitted as did the board they’d had no real money till now to spend on players….maybe a month since the end of the season has passed and that has changed to…we are being tortured again by a spanish club and could be selling our best player and captain, four cb’s will leave no less (senderos, gallas, campbell, silvestre) merida has gone, almunia has admitted he’s not worried about loosing the number one jersey next year, vela, arshavin, walcott (theo for unrelated arsenal reasons) do not have their heads right and the board are doing their best impression of a mute as always, wenger has done nothing but talk and to be honest if he thinks all of the above can happen and he can sort out our problems with two free (not in the positions we need) transfers and spending a rediculous 8 million on another unheard of french player then i’m afraid i’m officially withdrawing my wenger knows support and he is officially on trail this season as are the board, i never asked to move to the emirates so their pockets could get richer i thought it was to make extra revenue available, if they had said well yes but that won’t be for 15 years my boy and in that time we will nothing i would have said thanks but no thanks…i didn’t spend my whole life up to 18 waiting for us to become the best so we could dismantle it in a season and turn into shy locks when we’re supposed to be earning more

      Childish Comment Really
READ AND YOU WILL KNOW WHY

Wenger never said he was going to buy a DM, two CBs, a GK he said he was going to improve defensively and he’s doing that we have almost bought Koscielny. Made two bids for Schwarzer that sounds like defensive signings to me

Singing experienced players – Chamak is 26, Cole is 28 (if we have signed him), Koscileny is 25 and Schwarzer is 37 that seems experienced signing to me. Any older means too old any younger means too young (Wenger just cant please you guys can he?)

Fab going to Barca. Of course he’s going to Barca !!!! how can he not he not be going to Barca. Maybe because we rejected their bid told them he was not for sale at any price. Wenger said that he isn’t going to lose his best players. Oh and the big fact Barca are broke they owed more than 450 million and cant afford Fab

Why did we move to a new stadium? Well maybe because to compete with the biggest clubs in the world we need a world class stadium to generate unbelievable revenues so in the future when you grow up we can actually buy Ronaldos or Messi.

We have the youngest team in the PL, we are the best managed team in Europe Financially and generating profits every year.

I can understand your frustration I know what it feels like being without a trophy for five years but before wenger came we have won 2PL trophies in 20 year and were the most boring team in the PL

After Wenger came we won 3PL trophies, 4 FA cups and 3 Community Shields, We have build a world class stadium, we have build a world class training facility and every youngster in Europe wants to come to our club.

THERE’S PLENTY TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT IF YOU JUST OPEN YOUR MIND AND LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE RATHER THAN HAVE YOUR HEAD STUCK BETWEEN YOUR LEGS AND CRY WENGER!!!!! WENGER!!!!!
