Samuel Galindo Joins UD Salamanca On Loan

Samuel Galindo has agreed to join UD Salamanca on a season long loan from Arsenal, subject to a work visa. The deal to loan the 18-year-old was agreed last month, but only now have officials in the players camp gathered the necessary documents to complete the switch.

Galindo officially joined Arsenal on July 1st from Real America for a fee of £500,000, but an application for a UK work permit has been rejected. The Gunners initially offered Salamanca the chance to loan the skillful left winger in March after a successful trial, but changed their mind after former UDS chairman Miguel Torrecilla convinced official Richard Law to send the player to Celta Vigo.

However, Salamanca claimed they had a legal binding agreement for Galindo, so were given first option. They accepted and the player passed a medical last month. The club have been waiting on Samuel’s work visa application to go through, but manager Óscar Cano confirmed the end to the saga is in sight;

“I spoke with Richard Law and, in principle, the player can expect to have all the necessary papers to leave Bolivia by the end of the week.”

Galindo will go straight into the first-team on his arrival as UD Salamanca begin their preparations for the new Segunda season.

How high is he rated? I’ve heard quite a bit of him, but haven’t seen him play for obvious reasons. I know hes a powerhouse, but what else can you tell me about him?

Btw, i really enjoy reading your blogs every day. Keep it up!

Manchester unites got an immediate permit for Hernandez whilst we have to loan out the likes of Vela and Galindo for years. Bullshit.

Really hope the same doesn’t happen to Wellington.

Arsha you only have to look at Javier Hernández age and national caps to see why Manchester United got a work permit so easily, he’s 22 and has played 16 times for Mexico. The issue Arsenal always have is when trying to bring a player over from another continent before their 18th birthday, FIFA rules state that 18 is minimum age for a football player to play for a foreign club. Other factors that would hinder the chances of getting a work permit are the strict rules on immigration in the UK and the fact Samuel Galindo has only represented Bolivia once.

In fairness, Hernandez was 21 and had lead Mexican League in goals

plus he was on the world cup squad at the time of his application and had scored a few times for Mexico

Vela and Galindo did not have those credentials unfortunately

Galindo is a really good player I’ve watched him play many times for Bolivia and even tho he’s the youngest he’s definitely the one that shines. He gives good passes even tho he’s not the fastest player he has very good pace good ball control, vision and can score free kicks. I think he’ll fit in perfectly with our style of play just wish he could join us now….

Vela should have qualified for Special talent, and so should Galindo as he’s already capped for Bolivia senior team at 18.

How did Rafael & Fabio get a work permit?

Brazil are ranked high in the FIFA charts. Easier to get special permits for their players. Example is Denilson coming to us.

Rafael and Fabio both have Portuguese passports. Carlos Queiroz even tried to get them to play for Portugal, but to no avail.

I didn’t want him to go to UD Salamanca after hearing Pedro and Noordviedt view on thier organization.
Anyways, he’s now a regular starter for Boliva, so he’ll surely get his work permit application granted quickly once Boliva plays more matches.

I wrote in another article about Galindo that his father said he believes that by December, Samuel may have enough international caps to apply for a work permit in January. Galindo has gone for the season so I guess it would be in 12 months time that we would apply for it should he keep getting selected by Bolivia.

Kipmonster, look you’re idea to FIFA was good but taking pot shots at Jamie S isn’t going to win you any friends here. He runs a great site that is balanced and fair and surely if he doesn’t wish to support your idea then that’s fine. The only childish behavior appears to be from yourself. Anyway, to use and play ground theme, this is Jamie’s ball and if he doesn’t want you to play then sod off. Lets get back to Arsenal stuff.
Jamie do you know have long the Salamanca deal runs for ?

Jamie – Looking into the future will Galindo count as homegrown? I mean he’s on our books or does he have to actually be in our academy…

    Thanks in advance.

I’m still hoping it’s a loan and that he can come back here but I doubt it…the Arsenal coaches just don’t like him…

    Oh well, good luck NB.

Animo Arsenal y Ala Union!!!
