Arsenal 3-2 Norwich; Gunners Edge Canaries

Arsenal came away with all three points after edging out Norwich City in the Premier Academy League this morning.

Steve Bould’s side have had a mixed start to the campaign but goals from Nigel Neita, Josh Rees and summer signing Kyle Ebecilio did the damage.

More to follow.

I think its a bit different with CBs mate, as they tend to come good later. Tony Adams would’ve looked poor at the same age.

they’re not playing in reserves, they are playing in their age group and struggling

I think the fact we paid money for Edge always gives him a foot in the door. Rees is more versatile and a different type of player.

If Edge can keep improving, we could certainly do with a player like him (tall can play midfield and centre back)

Jamie edge he looks physically strong has a good height has good technique but like to see more of him.

JS jordan wynter where do you think his best position is?

I really like him as a winger hes looks class.

Monterio is one lanky giraffe looks very skinny, lightweight at this level but looks composed, calm on the ball not sure how he would deal with a physical striker.

I like sead hajrovic hes rough, agressive and has great compsure.

Reserves or Under 18 teams, it doesnt matter mate. Adams was still very shaky and would be getting alsorts of stick on here!

Edge hasn’t really settled in yet but I agree there is room for a potential new DM, but I don’t think Edge will make it yet.

Wynter? well he’s just got to stay fit. He missed nearly all of last season with injury, didn’t play much the season before that.

Jamie egde if he can step up he could be a really good defensive midfielder.

But young players develop at differnt its hard to judge.

he only played last year because of injuries (and Song at the ACN). he’s clearly behind Song, Denilson, Diaby, and Wilshere in the CM spots. JET was on the bench a few days ago because we had nobody fit behind Chamakh to play up front; if the same situation happened in midfield, I’m sure we’ll see Eastmond. also I think we’ll see him in the Carling Cup against Newcastle – Spurs was a special case, Wenger wanted more experience for that game than normal.

J can you give me some details on Frimpong?
this is the second time he’s got this injury hasn’t it and can this injury crisis be resolved with a surgery or training regime or can it reoccur because I think if fit he will the first choice cover for the DM spot but this is his second long long term injury and if it happens again then I dont see Wenger keeping him

and who do you think are the player who have the potential of breaking into Arsenal first team

So disapointed for Frimpng getting that serious injury. He could’ve come on a bundle this season. Typical bad luck.

Is Coquelin getting any game time in France?

Adams Shaky!!! what planet are you on? TA was the outstanding player in every team through youth and reserve level. I should know he is my age and kept lots of my pals me included out of many teams throughout Essex and at District level, not to mention the forwards he kept at bay. It was not until he was pitched into the first team (and we had a pretty poor team those days) and into the England team (who were also pretty poor) that he looked a little shaky. Bear in mind though he was younger than Miquel is now when he made his debut and pretty much cemented a regular starting berth within in a year, not bad for someone who was shaky!!!

He was called alsorts of shit, you obviously have some misty eyed memories of that time! Ah bless!

But you are missing the point. Which is that defenders generally come thru a bit older than other players, so I wouldnt write off anyone in the reserve or Under 18 teams.

Jamie Edge or Josh Rees? Why not both? Edge is DM that can play CB while Rees plays CM and is also versatile.

Josh Rees seems to either create or score a goal. Phil Roberts is very impressive as well two footed quicksilver striker with good technical ability

Just realised that there are a bunch of new player profiles on the reserve section of the official website.

The only ones unrecognisable to me are Reice Charles-Cook and Steven Smith.
