Loanees – Bartley Returns As Randall Departs

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Luke Freeman started and played 57 minutes for Yeovil Town against Brighton at The Withdean Stadium. Freeman was his typical hard working self but he struggled to impose his play in a 2-0 defeat.

Kyle Bartley returned to the Sheffield United squad after suffering a fractured jaw, but he was an unused substitute in a 2-0 derby defeat against Doncaster.

Vito Mannone was an unused substitute for Hull City as they lost 2-1 to Portsmouth at the KC Stadium.

Cedric Evina was an unused substitute for Oldham Athletic as they lost 2-1 to Southampton at St Mary’s.

Sanchez Watt is expected to start for Leeds United who take on Cardiff City on Monday night.

Francis Coquelin was not part of the Lorient side that lost 1-0 to Nancy.

Armand Traore was not included in the Juventus squad which drew 0-0 with Bologna.

Nacer Barazite was an unused substitute for Vitesse Arnhem as they were thrashed 4-1 by FC Utrecht.

Pedro Botelho completed another impressive 90 minutes for FC Cartegena against Alcorcon. The Brazilian has been one of the stars of the Segunda season this year, and he continued his excellent form in the 1-0 win.

Samuel Galindo was not included in the UD Salamanca squad that was beaten 3-0 by Real Betis.

Elsewhere, Mark Randall completed his loan move to Rotherham this morning, signing a three month contract.

I’m seeing the phrase “unused substitute” far too much for my liking. Surely people like Evina should be starting?

    Yea JS,

Any word on why Galindo isn’t getting any playing time? Is he just still adapting to his new surroundings or is he not looking strong enough?

I know it’s very early in his loan move, but you always like to see the loanees getting on the pitch and gaining experience, you know…

While I understand that some of these players are returning from injury etc there are as Chipo rightly pointed out, too many unused subs! And this isn’t even in the top division!! We all know the youngsters coming through are stellar quality but then why aren’t they able to get more playing time? And if they aren’t then perhaps it’s better that they come back and train with Arsenal.

none of these players are getting game time based on this week, seems a bit strange :/ . Don’t see why Mannone has gone to Hull if he is just going to be sitting on the bench. Also, why has Randall gone down to League 2? That is clearly nowhere he can progress

Clearly they are not as good as people on here think they are.

Hull’s GK is crap, Mannone will certainly get a chance sooner rather than later.

Seems Freeman isn’t really shining, fair assessment?

He’s cored a couple of goals and done reasonably well. Yeovil aren’t doing very well and they see Luke as more of a threat from the bench, because of his pace and skill. He’s still lacking the physical threat.

Galindo arrived really late and is still getting his fitness having not played all summer. He should be ready to play after the winter break.

If you look at their situation, it says a lot about their match time. Bartley and Traore didn’t play because of injuries, Galindo still getting fitness and Mannone is still settling in.

Barazite and Evina are unwanted anyway so their match minutes don’t matter.

Why is Evina unwanted? And Barazite? I get that Barazite was not ideal for Vitesse but he is doing ok there. Evina… What is up there?

It appears this laon move by randall is the begining of the end of his arsenal career.

Evina unwanted?? I thought Evina was really good..I know there is no room in arsenal for barazite because I think he is too slow and he is a fragile player, and i dont see him making it over lansbury, thomas, aneke, afobe, freeman etc.. but evina?

Three words. Botelho, Gibbs, Cruise. All further along, and around the same age. It’s not that he’s bad, he just won’t make it over them. Same with Barazite.

I think that since Kyle Bartleys’ injury, Sheffield United has conceded at every game.
That shows what he was bringing to his team.
I think that he is going to make it at Arsenal. He looks like the no-non sense kind of defender that we may need in the future.
Today Djourou looked rusty, however 4 central defenders may not be enough on a season if we really are going for all trophies.
Arsene Wenger stated that we are going for all four trophies this year.

really? could it really take him october, november AND december to get into shape, seeing as the summer training camps are less than 2 months?
I reckon he should be fit in less than a month

Anyone else notice that with the exception of Yeovil Town the only team to win was the only team to play an Arsenal player?

“Clearly they are not as good as people on here think they are.”
Well Duh! I’ve only been aware of this site for a few weeks now but the general consensus is this group of kids are the bees knees, all or most will make the first team, some are already good enough and they’ll all be world beaters like Cesc. But then what kind of fans would we be if we just put them down all the time?

    Oh yeah, Liverpool fans. :)

Pazma…..lol, yah you will see a lot of over hyping. I have know problem with giving praise but part of the reason I come to this site is to find out about the younger players that maybe I don’t get to see play and according to a lot of people on here everyone of them is a future first teamer lol. Even when a 20 year old Mark Randal goes onloan to a league 1 team last year and I say his career is heading to a close at Arsenal, people still say he is going to make it at Arsenal….

o yah, my favorite thing is when a kid scores a few reserve goals then everyone says they should be starting for the first team.

Did you see that one of the Salamanca players suffered a heart attack in their 3-0 defeat against Betis!? The player collapsed and was only saved after good work by medics who using defribulators were able to resuscitate the guy after being clinically dead 20 seconds! Shocking and thankfully not another heart related tragedy in football!
