Arsenal are keeping an interested eye on the 15-year-old brother of Ryo Miyaichi, who is currently on trial with Feyenoord.
Miyaichi junior has arrived in Holland to begin a three week training stint after being recommended to both Arsène Wenger and the Academy Director at Feyenoord Stanley Brard.
The initial reports are that Arsenal regard Ryo’s brother as an exciting talent, but as they would not win a work permit for him directly, have decided to allow the Rotterdam club to have the first look.
The news comes in a week when Steve Rowley confirmed no decision will be made on Ryo future at Feyenoord until the end of the season. Technical Director Leo Beenhakker had previously been in touch seeking a possible extension of the loan, but the Gunners will hold fire on an answer until a second visa application.
More news on whether the Miyaichi boys will be reunited in expected in the coming weeks.
good news
Any news on Rowley himself J..? Are the Chavs still sniffing around/
Sounds good.. If he is promising, sign him up..will help both settle having each other around. Plus we should be able to sign him without much trouble if we have his bro.. Any idea on his position Jamie, not that at that age its too permanent.
What about the Lukaku brothers ? We must sign them.
We are long shots to sign Romulu Lukaku, who is probably going to the highest bidder this summer, which definitely won’t be Arsenal. Man City, Chelsea, and Real Madrid have all openly expressed interest, and I highly doubt Wenger will be willing pay upwards of 15 million euros for him. Plus, we are already in the market for Hazard, and I would take him instead.
We do have a chance with his younger brother though, he plays defense though, and isn’t rated nearly as high, but still has some potential. We were linked with him over the summer once or twice.
I agree. I would rather have Hazard.
If little Lukaku is a promising right back, sign him up! We need someone coming through to keep Bacary on his toes.
Lets not Jizz in our pants yet, everybody tried to sign George Bests son and what was he? Dump…..people tried to sign Ryan Gigg’s brother and what was he? also dump.
Miayiachi looks a good player and I really do hope he is as good as he looks as he is a player who can do something that none of our players can really do and that is dribble past players at electric pace but lets put things into perspective…….He is playing against players who know nothing about him, in a league that is below the standard of the premier league lets see how he is playing in 10 games or even next season when people know what he is all about and if he can still do the business then brilliant……although it is hard to not get excited about the lad
Hehe.
Your “let’s not get too excited!” comment is very amusing considering nobody showed no excitement whatsoever about this news.
Also add to that list Rooney’s and Terry brothers.
Just what we need another player that will never get to play for us. Could keep Bothelo, galindo and Wellington company I suppose. Does anyone know of other clubs having this problem with visas etc ????
Arsenal by far have the biggest problem with it, because they simply try and buy the best talent all around the world, so thus they have to apply for more visas because they sign players from Japan, Brazil, etc.
Most clubs sign players from local areas, or wait till they are older and sign them. Teams like Chelsea, Man City, aren’t forced with this problem because for one, they don’t invest heavily in youth, and two, they just spend more money to buy the player in 3 or 4 years instead.
Arsenal, I don’t think are singled out by any means in this process of getting visas, it just comes down to the fact that they apply for so many because of all the foreign talent they sign compared to other clubs.
Plus different countries have different laws, Spain you can sign 3 non EU players for your B team/reserves i think.
Thats gud..we shud sign him en hazard… Hp we r nt jst increasin the number of teams on the run 4 plays..
What??

Am I the only one who thinks we need to accept that RVP is only going to fit for a half a season every year? And Chamakh apparently only has the energy to play the other half. He clearly is one of those players that needs more minutes every week in order to maintain form. The way he has played lately, he can barely kick the ground. Bendtner? I genuinely doubt his ability will ever match his ego, he will not continue to accept a bench role for long (Who could blame him; he is at an age where he should be playing…), and he will never be a great wide player. Vela doesn’t look like an out-and-out striker, or at least, the boss certainly feel he is yet. The decision to choose West Brom over Bolton seems to have blown up in his and our collective faces. The sacking of Di Matteo has been a disaster for his progress. I really like the look of Afobe, but he is still two or three years away from being ready for the first team in my opinion…
The point I am trying to make is maybe we still need another forward, someone we have all been wanting for years: a poacher. Think about the way Robin has finished some of the chances/half-chances he has been given over the last couple of months, now think of the chances missed by the rest of the squad. I just think we need another clinical finisher in the box. Look at ManUre. They have several people to carry the load when it comes to finishing; if one is out of form, they still have two others to pick up the slack.
Obviously a new center half would be ideal, but I doubt the boss will see fit to buy one during the summer. I wouldn’t mind seeing Szczesny stay in goal going forward. Surely I am not the only one in love with the idea of signing Eden Hazard. After that, bring in another striker!
Yeah totally agree, We need a ultra clinical striker who will put the ball in the net 9 times out of 10.
The signing of Hernandez for Man Utd was such, the guy always gets his shots on target, has a natural eye for the goal.
We need our own version, or a better version who is stronger.
@Noah, that’s a nice point! Fans are demanding for defenders but I really think who we need is a ”killer-striker” like RVP,Eto…even if we dont buy a midfielder for de bench, our young guns, like coquin, frimpong, ramsey, miauchi, etc can handle it..but it’s important we dispose of some current midfielder like denilson, diaby, rosicky and co…we’ve got a lot of player dt will be happy to play passionately on de pitch, but we need to send some away….especially bendtner and rosicky+denilson/diaby
not sure what all this excitement over hazard is about. not that it’s the final word but his youtube highlights are all 2/3 years old. what has he been doing with himself in that time? nothing worth putting on youtube obviously. yeah, must be a great player.
pinch of salt and all that.
because youtube videos are indeed the best way to evaluate a player’s talent.
Considering Lille are top of the league and he’s considered their greatest weapon, yeah, he’s doing pretty well.
most hilarous comment ever .Hazzard if you were intrested to any football is the most talented attacking footballer playing in france by far.Lille has build a team around him and are leading the french team around him.Zidane has say to his boss at Real madrid that if they sign a player from the franch league, they need Hazzard
good enough for me with me actually interested enough in football to watch other league and lille in particular. He is amazing ,end of
We know nothing about the kid other than ryo’s broda.jay we dont even know his name help us out pls.
Noah, you’re spot on with your comments, a lot of noise is made around us strengthening at the back or in goal. When we have struggled to score at crucial times, RvP is a No.10 we need an out and out striker. Great site by the way Jamie
and what position does this miyaichi junior play? btn this hazard signing just won’t happen coz we have vela and miyaichi and he looks ordinary to me and if nasri who was a cult hero struggled with the pl what about this guy who is average in france. and there is bhotelo with more pace, strength and a cultured left foot i would rather we sign a centre back and a real striker.
@ Noah, I agree that we need another forward. BUT, he has to be in the mould of RVP. I love how he can link play and pass the ball as well as finish. The passing of the forward is almost as important as his finishing to me when we are looking for a forward to help take the load off, and eventually replace RVP. Finishing is the most important thing, but I don’t want to see another striker who cannot pass like Bendtner or even Chamakh. The thing with Eduardo was that his passing was very much under-rated!!! He was a great little passer as well as a finisher. I hope we can eventually find another younger, less injury-ptone Robin Van Persie. That should be the long-term goal so far as our striking department goes, in my opinion.
I have been saying this for a while lol. RVP is world class but at the end of the day you are only getting 10 to 13 goals a season from him and it has been proven, you simply don’t win the league with out a world class striker.
Ashley Young is looking for a move. I would like to sign him and give Nasri a go centrally. Arshavin and Bendtner out, Young and Vukusic in.
Ashley Young wouldn’t provide very good value for money. But I all for shipping out Bendtner. Arshavin… I am on the fence about whether to sell or keep Arshavin. Maybe hold on until January. Perhaps qualification for Euros will keep him sharp.
I can’t think of anyone out there who plays the forward position the way Van Persie does. Maybe this guy Jon Miquel Toral Harper who we signed from Barcelona could do it. I know he is liested as a midfielder, but he plays a lot like RVP from the youtube clips I have seen of him. Maybe JET can finally get his act together and play up to his potential. He can certainly pass like RVP. I don’t know of anyone else out there who plays like RVP though. Do you Shane?? You know a bit more than I do about European football than I do.
Haha you guy have no clue if you call Hazard ordinary.. He has singelhandedly turned Lille to a top klubb in France and won the young player of the year twice in a row. He is going to win player of the season this year and is reated way better then Nasri was..
Us needing another RVP, are you having a laugh? our problems recently is we haven’t had players playing off the last defender enough. Watch barca they play 3 off teh last defender. At times when RVP comes short we don’t have a single one.
Chamkh’s a quality hard working centre forward that can finish, how Bendtner ever plays in front of him is nothing short of a travesty against football.
does bendtner have a brother?
We had our version – Eduardo. Let’s see what happens when Shakhtar meet Manure.
Hazard will be agreat addition to the squad together with Ryo.
I think with so many young players coming in we will cahnge our system to a fast counter attacking wing style. We do not have these players the past few years. Also, I feel that Walcott will finaly be playing in the Henri style centre forward. Imagine three fast attacking forwards, supported by the best passing midfielders. Oh…..
@kc I agree that would be mind blowing…I keep on saying that our team need at least one natural winger so when things are not working through the middle we can attack from the wings and stretch teams out…and give us more width…lol if we get hazard that will be a great addition…
i think u guys tend to forget that theo is a striker….. just learning the trade right now. just like Henry did.
hey all im new to this site lols
i was thinking about a new formation im dreaming maybe but check it out
————————–szczenzy/fabianksi————————————
sagan/eboue——verma/SAKHO——dj/sqi—–kosser/gibbs
song/diaby————wilshere/denilson
walcott/ryo—————-nasri/ramsey HAZARD/arsh
AGUERO/rvp/chamakh
so were selling fab.ros.bentz
and buying aguero,hazard,sakho
plus we have all the younger players who can come in
i think we can win the leauge with this team??
*^ and were selling clichy to many mistakes
*^ and were selling clichy to many mistakes
so from the money of selling players we should be able to buy the 3 i want
Gunner17 has made me laugh.
He must be no good cos Gunner187 hasn’tr seen any recent Youtube Clips of him….
So he can’t ahve done anything any good recently cos if he had it would have been on Youtube.
Not that Gunner17 sits in his little room all day looking at Youtube clips so he can have an opinion on every player in the world – even the ones who aren’t on Youtube….
Cos if they aren’t on Youtube they must be rubbish –
That’s obvious, isn’t it?
Milo….It is not a matter of finding a player like RVP because I have yet to see another player like him. It is more of the simple fact that you must have a world class striker to win the league. The can be different then RVP, that does not matter.
The only 2 transfers i pray for are Eden Hazard and another tackling midfielder. I personally have faith in Carlos Vela to answer the call for the striker spot but we will see. He has the quality of he predecessors in Henry and RVP so hopefully he will find his stride and push on.
Shane> I know you are on this site often, surely you have been paying attention when Jamie has been talking up Coquelin? There is no way Wenger is buying a tackling midfielder. He hasn’t paid reasonable money for one since Gilberto. Remember that Song will be a CB eventually.
Milo> Shane is right: Class is important, not type. He doesn’t need to be a fox-in-the-box. Hell, I would love someone like Thierry to attack from deeper positions, link play, score AND set up goals, but those players aren’t just lying around.
I know about Coquelin and have been watching him play this year. I am a fan of his. The problem is he simply does not look close to ready in my opinion. He has been getting knocked off the ball a lot and tackling does not look up to par yet. I am sure he will come around but you can not always put all your hope in 1 youngster to make the difference. That will always leave you one step behind. Now I am not saying go spend 20 million on a tackling midfielder but I am sure Wenger can find a guy ready for the job.
I missed the part about Song becoming a centerback lol. Why do people keep saying this? Wenger once said Song could become a great centerback as well. Sense then Song has improved his mobility which Wenger has pointed out. That was Songs only weak point as a midfielder. The world best young defensive midfielder is not moving to center back plus we have 3 top class up and coming center backs in Vermaelen, Koscielny, and Djurou so it would be pointless.
I’ve heard we are keeping tabs on his father too,who is a very quick lad;and his mother for the Arsenal Ladies team…LOL
On a serious note,if he’s good,take him in.
Ha @ Noah… Song will NEVER be a permanent CB, that is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever read on this site. Sorry lad.
Also, about any incoming strikers… Theo Walcott earlier this season was quoted saying that him and AW have already began planning for him to become an out right striker. Could be opening up space on the wing. Which, means we are now left with a spot to fill and I think we could go ahead and push for a natural winger, a pires or a ljungberg type. Hopeful thoughts.
Ambassador> I’m sure you could have found a more disrespectful way to disagree with me, but I imagine it would have actually taken effort. As for my belief that Alex Song’s future lies at CB, I cannot lie: I got that from ARSENE WENGER. But I guess you have played enough hours of Championship Manger to know more about players than the boss.
The Professeur > The Ambassador
And Freddie and Bob were natural wingers, huh? Now THAT is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever read on this site. “Sorry lad.”
Forget about Hazard, he have just extended his contract with Lille and you all know we are not going to spend some crazy amount of money on him.
We had the chance last summer and blew it.
In todays market he will probably sell for around +20 mill, soo if he is going to move it will probably be for Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona or Real Madrid.
hazard will join madrid. thats similar to our nasri transfer i think. things have been agreed. Noah i completely agree with the ambassador. song will not ever be a centre back. forget it. shanes on the right line when he said about songs mobility, wenger was refering to him not having the reflexs to be a world class centre back, but he has a great engine and mobility to play in the defensive mid role. thats what wenger said, he also classes him as a world class def mid. why would he try to change his position. get your facts right son. your obv the champ manager player here lol. pires was a natural winger. he was always out wide, granted he cut inside, but then so does giggs. he’s surely a natural winger right?
No, you are wrong on every front… Except maybe on the Hazard front: I haven’t read anything about him recently, but I know Zidane and Real represent the biggest obstacle. I don’t think 20 million would prove to be too much money for the boss if – god forbid – we fail to win the league. He was willing to spend big on Arshavin, and we have the money. It wouldn’t be the most typical Arsenal signing, but I am not yet ready to rule us out. Not until he says he has signed somewhere else.
You are totally wrong on the other stuff though. Song started at centerhalf when he was younger, and a couple of years ago, Wenger suggested that could be moved back there in a couple of years, JUST LIKE HE SAID ABOUT THEO MOVING TO STRIKER. I like Song as a DM, really I do. But considering the fact that Song’s defensive capabilities will obviously always far out-strip his offensive abilities, I don’t think Wenger was off-base when he said that. Again, I would like to see him stay at DM.
As for Bob, that one is easy. (Get your facts right son!) He played more in the middle before we bought him and Wenger decided he wanted him out on the wing.
As for Championship Manager, no, I am American: I spent my youth wasting my time with different video/computer games than you English lads. Time we will never get back.
I like that you lads try though.
get my facts right? search on google you fool. type in… why song wont make a good centre back and wengers name. you’l find relevant stuff from arsenal. com on wenger saying all about the reflexes. i think its april the 23rd only last year. haha, you yanks boil my piss. pires was a winger. before he signed for marseille for 5mil he played righ wing. he played for marseille on the right wing. i remember one game in particular he scored a screamer from there against either chelsea or leeds in the champs league. he played left wing for france though and that is where he played most his career for us gunners. granted he was just as good in the middle behind the front men, but ask himyourself and i should think he would say he was a wide man. the thing he lacked was pace, which is prob why fools like you dont recognise him as a winger. sod of and follow baseball you clown
No need for the anti-american comments. I too live in a country where football isn’t the number 1 watched sport but there are many people here with a very good knowledge of the game and not just stats but in understanding tactics etc. Football is global and knowledge of Arsenal isn’t exclusive to locals. Before anyone accuses me of being an egg chaser I lived within 5 miles of Highbury until I was 30y.o. and travelled home and away for about 15 years.
i also have a new zealand passport jules, was born in wellington and moved to the uk at the age of 6. my mums welsh and married my dad, a kiwi. when she was in her early twenties. im not saying football isnt global, it just gets on my when people say get your facts right, when the facts were right and they were spouting nonsense, which is the case with most americans ive met. thinking they know everything and anything, and are a ciut above the rest. they boil my piss. not as much as almunia though!! sorry if ive caused offense, nothing serious ment by my comment
Mention that I am American and cue the xenophobic bull$#!+… that was predictable enough. But I guess I know everything, as that is what you say Americans do. Since you are clearly not a reasonable person, I guess there is no point debating with you. Not as pleasant as most Kiwis and Welsh I have met to this point, that is for sure.
haha im another kiwi lmfao we owwwn!!
Olkat…. I never once said anything about Song not being able to be a world class centerback. If Song played Center back he would be a great player there as well. I said, sense he improved his mobility, that allowed him to stay in the defensive mid spot where he is and will be world class plus we have 3 quality center backs already.
Noah… Wenger said a year or 2 ago that Song would be a great centerback. Sense then he has said Song has improved his mobility so he will be a top class midfielder. Stop making up stuff that is obviously not going to happen and would make absolutely no sense what so ever.
We need able back ups to our injury prone squad. we have to realize that we cant have injury free season and each member would be in the starting line up at some point. the likes of denilson, squillaci, bendtner, rosicky and almunia need to be replaced as they are not good enough to start and need to be sold.
vertonghen is a versatile CB and DM. hulk is the kind of striker we need who is fast, powerful and not afraid to shoot. hazard will be an awesome buy but he will be expensive so i am hoping ryo miyaichi would get a work visa and slowly integrate him to replace arshavin. with frimpong and vela back, we have our new invincibles! oh and keep cesc too!!!
