Loanees: Galindo Fit As Bartley Misses Cup Final

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Carlos Vela missed West Brom’s 2-2 draw with parent club Arsenal due to being ineligible.

Kyle Bartley missed Rangers 2-1 win over Celtic in the League Cup Final after suffering suspected medial ligament damage.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was an unused substitute for Cardiff City as they drew 3-3 with Millwall.

Henri Lansbury played the full 90 minutes as Norwich City drew 1-1 with Hull City. Lansbury failed add to his goal in midweek, but turned in a solid shift in midfield.

Sanchez Watt came off the bench to play the final six minutes of Leeds United’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United. Watt replaced Robert Snodgrass wide on the right, but struggled to get involved.

Vito Mannone missed Hull City’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City through injury.

Craig Eastmond was not included in the Millwall squad that drew 3-3 with Cardiff City.

Benik Afobe came off the bench to play the final 18 minutes of Huddersfield Town’s 0-0 draw with Swindon Town. Afobe was involved in a late goal mouth scramble, but failed to find the decisive strike in an even game.

Mark Randall was not included in the Rotherham United squad that lost 5-0 to Chesterfield on Friday night. Manager Ronnie Moore criticised Randall again in midweek, saying he was not suited to League Two football.

Gavin Hoyte will not play again this season after suffering medial ligament damage.

Ryo Miyaichi played the full 90 minutes as Feyenoord lost 3-0 to Roda JC. Miyaichi showed some neat touches on the left but struggled to be involved as Roda ended Feyenoord’s six match unbeaten run.

Francis Coquelin and Gilles Sunu were both second half substitutes as Lorient drew 0-0 with Saint-Etienne. Sunu came off the bench in the 67th minute with Coquelin following him 12 minutes later in what proved to be a stalemate.

Armand Traoré started and played 68 minutes of Juventus’ 2-1 win over Brescia. The Frenchman turned in a solid shift at left back, continuing to grow on recent good performances.

Wellington Silva was not included in the Levante squad that drew 0-0 with Deportivo La Coruna.

Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes as FC Cartagena drew 0-0 with Alcorcón. The Brazilian, who scored and made an assist last week, returned to a left back role and again kept a clean sheet.

Samuel Galindo returned to the UD Salamanca side following a broken ankle but was was an unused substitute as The Union lost 1-0 to Real Betis.

He needs a visa, so no point bringing him to London. The guy has just got to knuckle down to work and tough it out.

If Djourou can maintain his form of this season and Sczsznszszny Vermarlen Djourou triagnle in central defense would be a fortress.

Randall will be dropped after this season, if he can’t hack it in League 2 what hope is there for him to succeed at Arsenal?

Miyaichi by the way looks like something else. Only criticism would be to look up earlier and try to track back more.
His pace on one side and Theo’s on the other would be awesome.

Might be a little bit one dimensional, their pace would be fantastic in matches we look to play on the break, but the advantage of Nasri and Walcott is the variation they offer us going fowards, Nasri will come in, try to beat his defender, link up with Fab Song and Wilshire, Walcott will run behind defenses from through balls out of our defense or midfeild, provide a supply of cut backs and space to shoot for our strikers, an score when put through.

Add to that they way both players are able to swapp wings almost seemlessly, while protecting their full back, the width they provide up and down the pitch, there a fantastic combination. An you wouldn’t want to shed to many of the qualities they provide in the name of pure pace.

so from that summary most were dissapointing.
wellington cannot, of course, play for us, so not a lot of point bringing him back. plus i have read a few articles criticising his attitude.
given the opportunities afforded randall, why is he still at the club.
bartlet and lansbury seem most destined to a future, some of these guys appear to be going backwards.

when i first new wellington and miyaichi were going out on loan i thought miyaichi would be a bench man and wellington would be a starter but miyaichi is a starter and one of feyenoords best player while wellington is not even getting bench time.now im hoping wellington can sort out his attitude which i never thought he had considering he was crying when he was leaving fluminense in an interview.can we just send him to feyenoord and hope they put him on the right of there front 3 silva castaignos ryo is ok

its also good to see galindo back and now i hope he could start getting a few games under his belt and show why arsenal wanted him but i dont see much potential in him anyway but then again i did think wellington would walk in to levantes side and miyaichi would be a bench man for atleast the first couple of months so i hope im wrong and he turns into the next kaka which i have heard he is likened to so just good to c him back.

Really feel sorry for Traore, whenever’s he’s been called upon for Arsenal he has been solid. Arsenal fans really give him a hard time. But after a shaky start and some injury problem, glad to see him start to establish himself for Juventus.

What some of these lads might need are link workers, who can come alongside and offer encouragement, a shoulder to cry on. But also keeping them focused on the overall goal and aspirations of their parent Club! Removing a youngster away from home and taken to a different environment/culture is a very tall order.

These lads were hoping to come direct to Arsenal, then to find they are sent elsewhere. So often youngsters loose a sense of purpose and direction especially if they feel they do not fit in. Yes! We get feedback as to their progress, but more is required, depending on the individual.

Ah didums poor little kids all that money having to live away from mummy and daddy nothing to do but play football and x box. My parents were there age when they had me, this exactly why we send them on loan to toughen up and be ready for the pressure of playing for one of the greatest clubs in the world. Shame we didn’t send denilson away for a season, perhaps he would then know where his bread is buttered

lansbury, vela and bartley look ready for the first team.. Eastmond and J. thomas are ready but will be sent on loan again. afobe, coquelin, sunu and Watt are not ready yet. wellington and galindo wont have job permits. botelho will receive his permit after 3yrs in spain but may be sent on loan again… hoyte and randall will be sold or released…. mannone and traore are 3rd choice in their position. for miyachi, it all depends on his permit….

We should be more concerned with our under 18s we seem to lose alot of games than about players who are struggling on loan

That makes no sense at all. The players out on loan are much closer to cracking the first team. Their growth is paramount. Who cares if the under-18s lose some games? They are supposed to be developing skills right now, not thinking about wins and losses. Under-18s are in a transition phase this year anyway. Reserve side is about to win the league, by the way…

This site is about youth players, arsenal youth team.

What concearns me is our crop of under 18s are not great.

Every year we should be producing better players.

Thats all. Noah no need to cry about it

i wonder if wellington’s loan move was not so much about him playing, but more about him getting used to being in a professional setup…? learning diet, discipline, manners, routine etc. at the top level. maybe.

I feel sorry for Randall, as he had the potential to be a good championship/league 1 player.

He should have left when I think wigan and some other championship clubs wanted him. He needs to go to another league 2 club and knuckle down.

Randall’s fall is a real sorry case. Once rated by Wenger as one to watch along with Wilshere, Gibbs and Lansbury, he can’t even start for a league Three side?
Hoyte’ s case is just as sad. Though he’s real fast – I think only Walcott and Vela are quicker – he also seems to have lost it. I remember when he was played against Robinho, though he had a torrid time I thought he was being given a valuable learning experience. It has proved otherwise.
This is the nature of professional football. It’s ruthless!

brilliant our next batch of players are already showing signs of arsenal quality: indifferent results, half of the players are injured! and drama explaining why their form is so kak. well we all know what that means, lets give them hummers, aston martins and whatever else to reward them!

Hopefully some of this boys can secure first team football with us next year, you have to remember that they are playing with players at the loan clubs Cardiff, Norwich etc who have less technical ability than Arsenal players so I wouldnt look into performances too much because once they are playing with better players it will make them better players its all about them learning and experiencing the pressures of first team football, I am hopiong Lansbury takes Denilson’s place next season, I hate criticising any player of Arsenal but Denilson ahs had hs time and chances, bin of Bentdner for JET and hopefully bartley and Miayiachi (is he gets a special talent permit) can bring something to the first team as well plus with the Verminator back next season it should be all good……come on you gunners

I know it’s still early but Wellington looks like he’s a terrible signing so far. Whether it’s Spain or England he knew he’d be living away from home so there’s no excuse for complaining about that. Maintaining fitness and weight is just a part of the job, if he can’t even handle that then he’s doomed from the start. Has he no appreciation for the opportunity he’s been given? It’s shut up or put up!

also you cannot compare him with ryo. japanese are known for their discipline while brazilians are the opposite.i think its lavante thats beeing unprofessional what does tweeting gotta do with playing football. they took our player its their responsibilities to make him feel welcome instead of slagging him off in the paper.they should play him or wenger should send him somewhere better. they play crap football anyway. no wonder he doesnt wanna play for them.
