Video: Botelho Goal & Assist v Huesca

Pedro Botelho added to his blossoming reputation over the weekend, by bagging a goal and assist as FC Cartagena beat Huesca 2-0.

The versatile youngster is enjoying this fourth season on loan in the Spanish Segunda, but is set to finally link up with Arsenal in the summer. His form with Cartagena has been promising all season; adding up to three goals and masses of assists in 28 appearances.

Impressive, looking forward to seeing him in pre-season. Could replace Rosicky, could do with some direct pacy wingers like him and Miyaichi who can take a player on and deliver some quality crosses.

    No loan watch?

Ryo, Bartley and Lansbury were all heavily involved.

It can only be good for Arsenal. We’ve been crying for a pacey winger to play on that left side.. which would free up Nasri to play more central. And there we have it! We need to tie down Nasri to another long term deal and add Pedro to the team along with Lansbury and Bartley. Great young players with good drive coming in to replace our more laid back players…

He isn’t a winger though, he’s a left back. With the Clichy rumours, he could have a real opportunity of making it here. Not that I want Clichy to go, but you never know.

Pedro is tall but needs to gain a bit of weight that`s for sure. What I like about him is that he has composure and of course pace. He can surely make an impact next season.Let`s hope for the best.

Checking Cartagena’s website, statistics, and Pedro has played more than any other member of their squad 28 of 29 matchdays. Rarely if ever subbed. Rarely ever injured. I hope he bulks up. What long sojourn in the Spanish lower leagues. Cartagena is fifth or sixth in their league, with four of the teams ahead of them still to play. Good luck to him and hopefully he’ll perform well, get Cartagena further up the table and come to London full of confidence.

rare to find a natural running attacker who is so tall…i think he will be a real asset to us, a total natural down that left side.

i really hope he gets brought into the first team squad and is allowed to compete for playing time. i think he could give better balance to the team than arshavin or vela or anyone else we’ve currently got playing down the left.

Seems like Pedro Botelho will contribute more than Andrey Arshavin.

When will Pedro be available to play in England? I know he’s been on loan for quite a while(4 years?) When will he be able to get an English work permit?

arshavin is a forward and not a winger we play him out of position… hes 29-30 never defended in his entire carrer plz dont complain like ul dont know anything about football….

we play 433 jus for fab…
players like vela arsavin suffer cozofthis formation.

    i would go with a 442 with

    d midfield as:
    nasri song fab/wilshare botelho/gibbs

    and forwards :
    van d man and arshavin

with arshavin playing the creative forwards role

He looks like a decent player not world class but maybe thats what we are short of, players who do a job, Ray Parlour not World Class but new his job and the job he did helped us win trophies, I am not saying that Parlour was as Technically gifted as Botelho but maybe thats we lack, all our players are all extremly technically gifted from front to back, maybe Lansbury, Botelho, MiaYchi, Frimpong can give us what we miss which is a little bit of Parlourness and take us to the next level next season, Jack has come in and done brilliant and made us a better team with it, but nobody expected him to have the impact he has on the team, hoped? Yes but believed? No……are one of the youngsters I mentioned going to make a difference I hope so

j when you say masses of assists how many has he got plus 10 would be masses which is really good for a winger type considering most football is played through the middle nowadays. do u know the exact amount or is it why u put masses coz segunda league football doesnt have much stat sites and u dont no thanks

I hate to be a buzz kill but did noone notice the standard of this football?? Glad he’s playing well well where he is but to compare him to rosicky and arshavin (who has better stats in the prem this season) and to talk about the Arsenal first team on the back of a few stats and highlights is ridiculous!

Another player, with pace, technique and work rate to operate on the left hand side is ideal, given that Arshavin has proven himself to be a good substitute player at this level week in week out. That also provides an option for when Walcott is injured or needs a break, Nasri can switch flanks to the right, still having speed up front through Botelho. Having Chamberlain, for less than 8m would be a nice luxury as well. To say nothing of Miyaichi.

    Lansbury for Denilson.
    Botelho added.
JET loan to PL club – Bolton if Elmander goes.
    Coquelin added.
Frimpong on loan to regain fitness.
Ramsey on loan until January to PL club to regain confidence.
Diaby on loan to German/French club to make him more hungry (I’m not a psychologist I should add).
Vela on loan to PL club.
Miyaichi on loan at Feyernoord for another year.
Wellington on loan in Portugal for a year.
Bartley on loan at Rangers for another year – bring him back in 2012 as a ready made first teamer.
Miquel promoted as 5th choice CB.
Buy Oxlade Chamberlain if less than 8m – let him develop at Southampton.
Buy Connor Wickham if less than 10m – ready made replacement for Bendtner if he continues to look offshore.

Give Lehmann a 1 year contract as 3rd choice and “mentor”, until Fab and Szcez are a year older and wiser. Almunia out.

You have to say watching the Henri Lansbury clip, that he looks so comfortable on the ball, i would take him over Rosicky anyday.
To be quite honest when you look at what is in our reserves or on loan, you could quite easily replace the poorer players in the first team squad without even spending
    Almunia(1) – Mannone
    Squillaci(3) – Bartley
    Traore(2) – Botelho
    Denilson(8) – Coquelin
    Eboue(6) – Eastmond
    Diaby(10) – Ramsey
    Rosicky(3) – Lansbury
    Bendtner(15) – JET
    Arshavin(15) – Vela

Even if we sold just those lot and bring in those youngsters we could raise £60m+ enough to buy Hazard(25m) Rodwell(16m) & Subotic (20m) Perhaps the sale of Clichy to buy Vertonghen or Sakho with Lehmann staying on as a mentor to Fabianski, Sczcesney and Mannone. Then perhaps our only net outlay would be for Wickham and Oxlade-Chamberlain which we could off set with some good loan deals, the sale of young reserves or even loan back arrangements. Though i would also like us to add Van der Weil to challenge sagna for rb.
GK – Sczcesney, Fabianski, Mannone (Lehmann)
RB – Sagna, Van der Weil, Eastmond
LB – Vertonghen or Sakho, Gibbs, Cruise
    RCH – Subotic, Djourou, Bartley
    LCH – Vermaelen, Koscielny, Miquel
    DM – Song, Rodwell, Frimpong
    RM – Wilshere, Lansbury, Coquelin
    AM – Fabregas, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain
    LM – Nasri, Hazard, Botelho
    RA – RVP, Walcott, JET,
    LA – Chamakh, Vela, Wickham

Leaving us with a nice well balanced squad, with 3(min)players for each position, lots of British players and money in the bank. If Hazard chooses someone else go for Ashley Young. Playing 4-1-3-2 reverting to 4-2-3-1 when closing the game down.

You certainly paint a good picture! It does seem very exciting and I’m surprised and pleased how well some of our loan players are doing. Highlights for me Lansbury and Miyaichi. The key is bringing some experience in. When young players are brought through that’s great but they shouldn’t be relied upon to produce in their first season in the team, but they invariably are. I think it’s been clear to us that we haven’t had a big enough squad this year in key places, maybe partly as we took the CC more seriously. Bring the youngsters through bring it on, very exciting, but don’t rely on them it just isn’t fair on them or good for the team. bring in some experienced players too. CB and DM imo.

Also the new players you have in that squad come to my estimate over 90M! + Signing on fees and wages :? My point was that we bring through the youngsters but we usually struggle to bring experience in. We clearly are not going to sign Hazard VDW Subotic Ox-Ch, Vertonghen Wickham AND Rodwell. Plus that’s too many anyway they’ll never bed in! 3 relatively experienced players (at least a season or 2 in the 1st team) is all we need plus youngsters.
