Loanees: Miyaichi Assists As Botelho Sees Red

Welcome to this weekends loanees watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Carlos Vela was an unused substitute for West Brom as they beat Sunderland 3-2.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was not included in the Cardiff City squad that beat Doncaster Rovers 3-1.

Henri Lansbury played the full 90 minutes as Norwich City lost 3-0 to Swansea City. Lansbury was restored to the midfield after being rested last week, and he came as close as anybody to scoring for Norwich. Henri’s second half shot looked dangerous, but it was deflected behind for a corner on a forgettable day for the Canaries.

Vito Mannone missed Hull City’s 2-1 win over Watford through injury.

Sanchez Watt was not included in the Leeds United squad that lost 3-2 to Millwall.

Craig Eastmond was not included in the Millwall squad that beat Leeds United 3-2.

Benik Afobe played the full 90 minutes as Huddersfield Town drew 1-1 with Peterborough United. Afobe had a handful of chances to score, including what would have been a wonder goal, after beating four players in a mazy run.

Mark Randall was not part Rotherham United squad that drew 1-1 with Cheltenham Town. Randall was in Reserve team action for Rotherham in midweek, playing in their clash with Rochdale.

Ryo Miyaichi played the full 90 minutes as Feyenoord beat Utrecht 4-0. Miyaichi  hit in the bar in the first half before providing an assist for the second goal, delivering a deep corner which Kelvin Leerdam crashed home. He then made a darting run to create space for Diego Biseswar’s third. The youngster played the whole game on the left of a front three.

Gilles Sunu came off the bench to play the final 28 minutes of Lorient’s 1-1 draw with Sochaux. Sunu made a notable impact after coming, setting up two chances. The first was wasted by Diarra, but the second was almost converted by Monnet-Paquet, but for a key block. Francis Coquelin was an unused substitute.

Armand Traoré played the full 90 minutes as Juventus beat Genoa 3-2. Traoré turned in a promising shift at left back, showing improved defensive awareness in what proved to be a tight affair.

Wellington Silva was not included the Levante squad that drew 1-1 with Racing Santander.

Pedro Botelho started and played 84 minutes before being sent off, as FC Cartagena lost 3-1 to Recreativo. The Brazilian was restored to left back for the fixture, but in a frustrating game, he was shown a straight red card for head butting an opponent in the closing stages

Samuel Galindo was an unused substitute as UD Salamanca drew 2-2 with Ponferradina

who would you prefer a Russion who supports LIVERPOOL (according to a recent picture) or an American who has already shown that he is happy with the way the club is run. a take over is inevitable and Kroenke is by far the lesser of two evils

He’s got more money than you have. Who would you prefer? Usmanov?

Fiszman is selling and so is Lady Nina. If Kroenke didn’t buy their shares, then the dodgy Russian would and that would be a disaster.

Happy to see miyachi one again with one of his impressive performance, same goes with afobe and lansbury but no goal for them which will still come for all of them with time because they have the ability to score, also good to see traore start improve defensivly as for botelho may be he over reacted which other players can do the same, as for wellington and galindo i think change teams will do them a lot of good especially wellington what do you think friends?

Stan Kroenke has a personal fortune of 2.6 billion dollars. His wife has a personal fortune of 2.9 billion. I reckon he could spare a few bob on our team. Some people should get their facts right before making their comments.

Eh gen know what you’re talking about before you make uneducated comments. When you say he “doesn’t spend extra” on his basketball team, you do know the NBA operates on a salary cap meaning you cant buy any player you want willy nilly. He owns a team in Denver, not exactly a basketball hotspot which means attracting the big players is hard, even if he does do that that means paying the one or two big money meaning the rest of the team has to be under the cap, much like the limit you get in pro evo or fifa games. Get your facts right!

On his last chat, Jamie said Wellington turned down a loan to the segunda division, opting for La Liga. Guess he priced himself out of a good loan for time riding the pine. Maybe they had better pizza. I have written him off for the time being. I will wonder about him in 2-3 years. It’s his life to screw up however he pleases. We are so far beyond needing some nearly dime-a-dozen silky Brazilian winger to come good. If he does, great.

Proving to be a great loan to WBA. I’m guessing his days are numbered, if he can’t even make it into the West Brom it’s hard to see a real future at Arsenal.

Lets give Kroenke HELL we dont want outsides like him Tell him to go back to the states and take his his peanuts with him! Why is the old “carpetbagger” on the board and city merchant banker if they cant put some money in. Cannot some scheme be thought up whereby Season ticket holders and world wide Arsenal fans can take over a controlling interest in the Club, after all it was fans putting with up,in many cases pig sty conditions and players underrewarded, that created the Club,s that all these “horrible money grabbers” have now come out of the corrupt money systerm to further take the game away from traditional fans. Their aim will be to promote fewer games but between only the clubs in their pocket for exploitation on TV worldwide with games played at the venues that swelled their pockets. Its bad enough now that a fixture issued in July cannot be relied upon to plan family events and that no account is taken of the inconvenience of the supporter . What other business never mind Sport could get away with it. Every year they want a prepayment for a whole season that does not even start until 3 months later! They pocket the interest and change the dates and kick-off times to suit TV. Would,nt it be lovely if all fans joined an association to boycott paying season ticket or attending games until our M.P.s did their duty and laid down new rules that handed Clubs back to supporters who created them!

To those commenting on Kroenke: He is not like the guys who bought Liverpool and ManU. He is well funded. In fact his wife is also wealthy. She is one of Sam Walton’s children. Wal-Mart is the biggest retailer in the world and she is worth billions. He will not be putting Arsenal into debt.

I would like to see the fans buy a large stake in the team. That would keep the board honest.

at first i thot arsenal needed an owner when chelsea were bought but then came the anfield debacle and the catacysm that is being owned was exposed.in a perfect world i would prefer the germany system where fans are part owners and nobody can own more than 50% of a budesliga club.but the world is not perfect and the likes of city make huge losses and barca/madrid are politically correct and can swindle the other clubs of their rightful revenue.that said arsenal can grow coz they are in a city with a big/rich population and international market is growing but i am not excited at all.

JET is his own worst enemy. He is supremely talented but Wenger says he holds himself back. Guess he does not work hard in training and/or he has a bad attitude. Hope he corrects it and gets serious.

Clichy plays a solid game for 85 minutes but every game he takes about 5 minutes off and just loses the plot. Not sure what he is thinking about but I wish he could concentrate for the full 90.

I don’t get the anti-Kroenke attitude some have. Given the options we had Kroenke taking over was the only way to keep the club running as is. It was only a matter of time before Usmanov tried to take over and then we would have really been in trouble.

Stan Kroenke is an extremely rich man who can afford to buy the club without saddling us with extra debt, he also has vast sports experience and can help us move forward in the areas we are lacking (selling the Arsenal Brand worldwide). I doubt he will ever pump millions of his own money into the club to buy new players, but thats a good thing as it means that he cant ever ask for those millions back. That said he is a very shrewd business man and to sell the Arsenal brand we need to be successfull and so I suspect he will ensure we are financially able to buy any players Arsene thinks are needed to mount a serious title challenge next season.

Also don’t forget that he was also instrumental in working with the AST to set up the Fanshare programme, so he clearly wants the fans involved, so hopefully that will continue and he can help the club move forward.

Not happy with this takeover, his net worth maybe 2.6 billion dollars but it may have cost him 1 billion in total to buy the club and we expect him to invest further. Surely hes buying to make money, has he invested heavily on his basketball team?Maybe hes waiting to refinance the club later as purchasing with a loan now may cause a riot. The city owners were interested in us i heard before they bought city should have taken there money and ran.

It’s going to make absolutely no difference to you and you are unlikely to notice any significant changes as a result of this change of ownership, so why are you even bothered?

Kroenke is a long term owner who has done good things for the other sports teams he owns. He will keep the club stable and competitive. That is all any fan can ask for, especially with the new financial rules coming in that stops sugar-daddy type ownership like Abramovich and Mansour. Having Kroenke take over the majority ownership of the club is a good thing.

Troare has been clocking quite a few games at left back, do you think he’ll come back to Arsenal a better player defensively? We know he has the pace and can deliver a telling cross but can he challenge for a first team place.

Ryo looks like he can push for that left forward position although when do we actually get him back?

sad to see the likes of JET, Watt, Vela not actually get a game!

This week’s loanees news doesn’t make very encouraging reading.
Traore & Vela hvae had their chances in the first team and they won’t make it at Arsenal.
JET, Watt, Wellington, Eastmond & Coquelin, all hyped-up last year, can’t even get into lower-quality teams; Randall’s in Rotherham reserved, Sunnu a bit player at Lorient ..

To me, only Lansbury, Afobe & Myiachi look like they might make the grade in the next few seasons – any thoughts, reserve-watchers?

Jet, Eastmond ,Vela, Randall, Watt, Silva…..these super stars of AFC future cant even get a subs few minutes for their teams in the lower divisions…why? either they are just happy to take the big pay from AFC and so what? Or, they are not good enough for the lower divisions…if its either of these two reasons…then AFC should sell them and save a fortune.

I would go one step further and say that ryo will be the only player mentioned that actually makes a career at arsenal.

And what worries me is Wengers refusal to buy quality world class players that are desperately needed for the first team because he does not want to block the career path of some of our youngsters.???? Who ?????
They are simply not good enough.

Deary me, some of these loan spells really are going to pot-you have to wonder how useful project youth is. If JET can afford a hundred thousand pound Mclaren yet he cant get into the cardiff squad it hardly points to good value.
All this talk of having a clear out of the senior squad but the reserves certainly needs a trim. We seem to have a lot of youngsters with attitude problems too (JET,Vela,Botelho,Silva)-not sure being out on loan is going to help that.

I am honestly tired of English people acting like they are the only people that are truly supporters of the club. (Not saying all english people obviously) You need to get over yourselves. The EPL has become the NBA of football. Hell, the manager is not english, most of the players aren’t english and the majority of the fans are not english and out of all that, the funny thing is the worst part about our club is the Emirates fans who are always moaning and even booing our own players and they are almost all English. If you keep being close minded, you will always be upset. Learn to enjoy what you have.

Who’s doing that? The “Emirates fans” fricking fund this club with the highest ticket prices IN THE WORLD. Yes, what an incredible burden they must be. This has been the worst premiership season ever, that we probably won’t win for lack of cover. No wonder the fans in the actual stadium are frustrated. Behave yourself.

You think the “Emirates fans” are the only people that fund the club lol. You have no knowledge of business. Anyways, what is the point in paying the “highest ticket prices in the world” then going and moaning the whole game. Also how has this been the worst premiership season ever and how have we lost because of lack of cover? No team is going to win the league with their back ups. The problem is, why do our players get injured so much? Last but not least, only morons keep saying, “why don’t we spend money”…..We have to pay off a stadium. Everyone needs to stop crying or simply go support a team with unlimited funds.

jimmy – are you sugggesting it’s worse than 2005-06, when we finished the season with 67 points (we have 62 right now), in 4th place only because half of Spurs’ team got food poisoning and they lost the last game of the season? and lack of cover? what, is Jonny Evans really better than Squillaci? is Darron Gibson better than Denilson? is Rosicky better than Obertan? give me a break…

So Arsenal’s busines model isn’t mainly based on the revenue from the Emirates? No? It’s the worst premier league season for quality ever. All our major rivals have struggled and yes the United side is rubbish, hence this being a brilliant chance for us to take advantage. But we scrimped yet again and it has cost us. GK and CB HAS COST US performances, so yes cover is the issue. Wenger didn’t buy becaue he said Vermaelen would be back, now he says he always knew Vermaelen wouldn’t be back?

“For Thomas Vermaelen the season is over,” confirmed Arsène Wenger at his pre-match press conference. “In fairness he has not played since September, I never expected him to be fit before the end of the season.

He didn’t have cover and we went into this season with THREE CB’s 2 of which had never played in the premiership. This is a huge missed opportunity to capitalise. So the fans at the stadium HAVE been backing their team but their “moaning and crying” is the only voice pointing out the obvious whilst AW tells everyone that his team has incredible mental strength. That’s why people are frustrated, and now they’re showing it. Pretty mildly so far.

The Emirates plays a part but other stuff brings in just as much if not more money like TV money, transfers, merchandizing, etc which TV Money and merchandizing comes from us all. Anyways, we are not a club that can buy a complete new player just for 1 year. You do realize we are undefeated in the league with Djurou in which in turn means we are undefeated with Koscielny and Djurou at the back. No, a team with a budget can not have 50 superstar players in their squad. As for keeper, Szczesny is great. Once again how many teams have world class back up keepers? How could we think our number 1 and 2 keepers would get injured? Once again, we are in 2nd because of injuries, not depth because back ups will never win the league. As for the fans at the stadium, why was Highbury known as Highbury Library during the time when we were winning tons of trophies? I will just assume you are an Emirates fan so that is why you feel this way.

    • April 13, 2011 at 10:48 pm
      Permalink

I realise you’ve said undefeated in the league, so the losses I’ve pointed out don’t count towards that. But I’m not quite sure what you’re point is, that the team is perfectly strong enough? That there are no players who are not good enough or not pulling their weight? That we should have expected hardly any injuries over 58 game campaign? Its got to a be a squad that gives you success competing in multiple competitions, so cover has been an issue, the quality of the cover hasn’t been good enough.

This is massively off topic apologies.

Shane I’ve got no axe to grind with Arsenal fans anywhere, you seem to have one against English match going fans and you can’t seem to see why they might be frustrated. Putting (obviously not all of them) in brackets doesn’t really tone it down does it. Americans are all arrogant know-nothings (obviously not all of them). Is that ok?? TV and competition revenue comes from SKY and UEFA not from “all of us“. Think you’re just mistaken with that, the major revenue and business model of Arsenal is based on ticket sales.

“…50 superstar players…” WHO has asked for that? I haven’t. The fact that Sczcesny has become first choice shows up bad management at the start of the season! Why are we relying on 20 yr olds to come good? If they comes good that’s not good management that’s gambling when you have the resources to properly strengthen the team.

    Shaktar Donetsk 1-2
    Braga 0-2
    Barcelona 1-3
    FA cup man utd 0-2
All losses in which DJ has played 90 minutes. Not to say he isn’t good or that there weren’t mitigating circumstances but just that what you’re saying doesn’t bare out in the facts.

Don’t come on line and bad-mouth fans who pay through the nose to watch the team and some of whom are getting fed up after supporting Wenger for six years with his relentless quotes about incredible spirit and self belief when anyone knows this team lack both of those in buckets. You should be ashamed of yourself.
